  1. I found an 'extra' bolt in the spare tire compartment last week. That brings me up to: -1 14mm bolt. Since I'm also missing bumpers, is it possible to be in the 'negatives'?
  2. Going even further off-topic. Santa needs to pony-up the parts necessary to convert to a 5-speed... Anyone else ever mistakedly try to shift into "fifth"?
  3. Well, maybe a little shameful... Anyone wanna throw some stuff at a poor ex-Marine trying to restart his life in Boston? Pleeeease... -My piston rings are done. -Center console got damaged when the stereo was stolen. -PO put tiny, tiny tires on it, so I'm paying for 85mph and getting 60mph. -The bushings are shot. -Exhaust leak, which I can fix tomorrow (uncle lent me the three bucks for a flange gasket). -I think it might actually prefer to run on oil, the way it goes through it. -I now get to drive to Boston tomorrow night without a stereo (might be able to Jerry-rig something out of two speakers I found in the trash yesterday, though). But hey, at least she runs! Well, walks. Okay, stumbles.
  4. Everything's peachy-keen right now, I'm all set! Thanks everyone for the help! Much as I would like to meet you, I'm no longer in Fort Worth... My roommate decided not to get a job, and his parents were tired of paying his half of the rent, so I'm sh*t out of luck. I'm on my way to Boston (where I grew up) to regroup and start my life from scratch for the third time....yayyyy.... re-enlisting is starting to look good, which scares me.... Now, on to that exhaust leak...
  5. Heya, I saw several s30's at a salvage yard in Twentynine Palms when I was stationed there. I got out of there a couple months ago, but nobody had even messed with them in years, most likely. http://yellowpages.superpages.com/profile~N_bar+auto~STYPE_S~L_Twentynine+Palms+CA+92277~CID_99999999990~LID_jLPk7W4a67iVa0tOv3jxJA%3D%3D~lbp_1.htm These guys have one, but they may not know it. If you go out of their little door into the actual yard (with your back to the street) it'll be in the back left corner, parked very closely with a bunch of other cars. I don't know why they did this, as the rest of the lot is in neat little rows. Also, across the street from them there's another junkyard (can't remember the name) that has two or three of them. When you go out of the back of the trailer (their office), the Nissans/Datsuns are in the middle left area. Good luck, I hope I helped a bit.
  6. OK. Basically, I'm an idiot. The "thingy" I believed to be the button was not. I did find it, and I 'fixed' it by putting a screw into the hole that the button was passing through. Here's a thought: Why the hell is that hole even there in the first place!?
  7. You don't really have to look TOO closely in "Bruce Almighty"... It's the car he's drives everywhere (and crashes regularly, it would seem). Also, in "Boogie Nights", when the fat blonde guy 'comes out of the closet' and kisses the main character, the car in the background (the one he wanted to show him) is a red s30.
  8. Okay, due to an untimely attack of insomnia (trying to get a computer job...again...), I went out at 1am to check up on this 'brake switch' thingy. I found it (contortionism + candle + lighter + Z footwell = tricky), but it was stuck. After hanging upside down with my head in the footwell for five minutes and having that damnable candle blow out for the twelth time, I decided to just f*ck with it during lunch. Also, I've decided to install a manual kill-switch in the near future. -Ryan
  9. I'll try it the first chance I get (I _AM_ already in my pajamas...). On an odd note, this morning it started doing it to both tallights, and now just the right one does. O_o All thelights work. Will post results tomorrow. -Pickle
  10. The PO did add an alarm to it, but I've had the car for about 5 months now, and the problem just started last thursday. Help would be AWESOME. I live in the new apartments off the 820 (Las Vegas trail exit) I'll try to pm you my number.
  11. Heya, Although I've been reading these forums for months, this is my first post. My problem is that my driver's-side taillight doesn't turn off when the rest of the car does, and it's draining my battery. From the few posts I seen that seem relevant (gasp! A newbie searched!), It seems to be something involving a relay. What I need, basically, is someone to confirm my suspicions (or refute them), and to 'point' where there troublesome relay is and how to repair/replace it. For reference, it's a '77 280z 4-speed (stock, with an alarm and 30 years' worth of wear-and-tear) -Pickle
