  1. There's a restored-looking '64 Chrysler New Yorker with a 389 in it (old GTO engine?). Anywho, he's put up a sign on it for ~$4500. It's not listed anywhere that I know of, and he's got a cherried Buick Super right next to it. I'll try and take a pic for you tomorrow if I can find my camera.
  2. Hey everyone. I saw a silver 1600 on the 109 between hopkinton and the 95 today. I called him up and he's asking 7500. I'd jump on it myself, but I haven't had my job long enough So, if you're in southern New England you should check it out!
  3. Thanks, Deja. When I searched Ebay, I typed in "Saab cupholders" and "cup holders". I got sick of looking at them after 7 pages, though, so I posted the question here. 50 bucks sounds a bit steep for one cup holder, so when I get around to that part, I'll try my luck at a JY.
  4. I know we're hating that guy right now, but look at them there hips! ...mmm.... The arse is a bit plain for my tastes, however.
  5. 280zcar, you are my hero! You've just saved me about 4-5 hours of skimming through dozens of car shows! Thank you! EDIT: It would squeeze into an existing dash rather nicely, no? After you match the cover, of course...
  6. I looked at some interior pics of the Saab 9-3, but they aren't it. I think it was a Saab being reviewed, actually. Oh, well. I'll just watch them all again and post back here when I find them so you guys can see 'em.
  7. I know this is kinda random, but I thought it would be nifty. Like most of you have thought or are thinking of is a way of adding a cupholder or two to our earlier Z's without looking like an "ebay special." A while ago, I saw an episode of Top Gear where one of the cars reviewed had a cup holder that I think would work rather nicely. When closed, it looks like a thin vertical line in the dash. You push a button near the top of it, and it swivels down, whilst the cup holding ring rotates on an axis to a horizontal position. I really like it because it would be unobtrusive to the appearance of the dash, and you don't have to yank it open and listen to that plastic-on-plastic scratchy noise. Now, I've just finished looking through ebay for cupholders, to no avail, and I was wondering if you guys know what make/model I can grab one out of. To show what I mean, I'll post a drawing in a sec.
  8. Also, don't eat the banana! Anyone who's been to oki should know that one!
  9. Wait a sec, my parents told me "keep your head low and your a$$ lower!" EDIT: I always thought it was unfair that, in addition to standard issue, "Hollywood Marines" also receive such things as sunglasses and lawnchairs, and twice as much sunblock.
  10. How long would it take them to do a swap? Also, would they be willing to do engine work (ie: super/turbo, exhaust)? I'm this close to shipping them my baby!
  11. Congrats! For a while there, I was starting to think you were a long-lost friend of mine who's doing the same thing...
  12. Also, the seats for the 86-87 accord lx-i hatchbacks are pretty nice, and fairly similar to the crx seat above. Not quite as 'wild', though.
  13. Thanks, TBK, I'll check it out when I get off of work in the morning. 77 280z stock
  14. Heya, The car starts up "just fine" and idles "well". However, whenever I go to move it, it bogs out and dies, just like that. I discovered this issue when trying to back out of a parking space. I ended up turning the idle screw to 3500 and limping it home. The only thing I can think of is when I put the (freshly rattle-canned) airbox back in, I put the air filter in upside-down and drove it like this for about 70 miles. Oil was 1.5 quarts low, but had ~60 psi, and all spark plug wires were tight. That's about the limit of my abilities/equipment. Any help would be appreciated.
  15. Thanks Cozy! I'll give it a try in the morning!
  16. I've already searched and, after two hours of it, I really need to go to bed . I had been stripping the paint and mostly rust off of my airbox for a couple days, when I suddenly needed to use my car to get to an interview. I threw it back together and reconnected it to the hose--sort of. I did the top two bolts and hose part, but it was really cold out and I needed to be there in two hours (1:20 hour trip), so I did lay down to get the bottom two screws. Just enough to where it wouldn't shake loose, ya know? Well, I get all spiffied up for the interview, go out to the car, start it ( a small miracle to itself), and go to close the hood. It doesn't close. *Crap*, I thought, *the bottom two screws weren't lined up with the holes in the bracket, so it's sitting too high*. I tried to shove it into place by hand, but I'd tightened the ones up top too much (I really didn't want it to shake loose on the highway!). I didn't have time to go into the house and grab the rachet set from the basement, so I just shoved the hood into place. I've since taken the airbox out, but now my hood is raised half an inch up front, and the alignments a bit off-kilter. Off the top of anyones head, is there way to adjust the alignment (I'm sure there is) and the height as well (not so sure there is). Please excuse my ignorance/perceived laziness, as it's cold and dark out, and the warmest thing I own is the suit.
  17. I'm gonna go with two parts drunk and/or high, mixed with one part stupid.
  18. Hmm...I'm actually tempted to post those on some AE86/drifter forum, just to see how quickly I 'd get banned...
  19. Drive it! Nothing is better than cross-country in a Z! Except a Z with a radio...or a Buick... Seriously though, go for it. AAA is a good idea.
  20. I'm running bosch on a stock 77 l28e, gapped at ~.043
  21. Does anybody what the gauges are in an IS350? I believe they're Defi, and some of the gauges on their site look quite similar, but when I played the movie for each one, they were a bit, well, flashy. I don't mean showing off, but like a strobe light. In the 350, when you turned the car on the needles would light up, go through their full range of motion, then the 'number plates' themselves would come on. None of that lightning stuff. If possible, I'd like to know the brand (if I'm wrong) and specific model. Whether I have to go find one in a junkyard will be another story! Thanks in advance.
