  1. I'll build it just give me the money It looks like in the cell shaded pic that the front end would be one piece. Can you make it three pieces? Two from quarter panels and an air dam?
  2. While you are on the topic if there is a thread about rewiring the engine that would be helpful too. I need to do this to my 280zxt. When I swapped from a n/a to a turbo they used the n/a harness and I don't know what I would need to do now to put in the Z31 ecu. So I figured I'd rewire the whole thing. Good luck with your project.
  3. I am going to be running 550cc injectors on my 280zxt. It has a stock ECU and an Aeromotive FPR. My question is can I adjust the FPR to run up to the 259hp max of the stock ECU or will I run into a problem with running rich at idle or any other problems? Thanks for any help.
  4. I'm looking for somewhere I can buy a harness for a Z31 ECU harness already connected properly to a L28ET engine harness. I was going to do it myself but I just found out that when I had the mechanics put in my turbo engine they used my N/A harness. I heard that it is a pain to try to convert a N/A harness to a Z31 ECU so instead I'm just looking for one that is ready to go. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
  5. Thank you both for your replies. They will make installing this new turbo and wastegate very easy.
  6. To use an external wastegate what do I need to do to the turbo? Do I have to make a block off plate for the internal wastegate hole? Do I have to block off the air hole in the cold side that goes to the actuator? Where do I place the external wastegate flange? Any help would be much appreciated.
  7. Has anybody bought one latley for a 280zx? If so where and are you happy with it?
  8. Thanks for the info. I was just doing it to clean up the engine a bit. When I had my turbo swap done I found out that they weren't even connected all the way. There is a strong smell of fuel and exhaust comming from the engine bay and I am trying to eliminate it. Yesterday when I removed and sealed the EGR spot I followed the hose down to a piping rail and out the other end were five open pipes not going to anything. That's the same piping that the AAC was hooked up to.
  9. I live in Florida but I am pretty sure it is the same everywhere that when a vehicle becomes a classic then it is exempt from emissions laws. I just figured that maybe somewhere there was a how to or a diagram that pointed it out that way I didn't have to waste a lot of time. I have a haynes manual so I guess I will just have to study it and then write my own thread on it.
  10. That would be nice =] Hopefully when they come over they know more than me. Does this mean you are volunteering?
  11. Thanks for the help but I was looking more for a picture of an engine with stuff circled that I can remove. Also having the stuff numbered with a description that way I can decide if I really want it gone.
  12. You have to start some where. Good work so far.
  13. Is there a thread for what I can remove off the engine as far as emmisions crap or other unnessesary stuff? Excluding the heater but removing the A/C. It's on an L28ET(Turbo 280zx) Thanks.
  14. I totally agree with you that's why I am trying to do my research to figure it out before just ripping stuff off.
  15. The radiator still holds water but not for too long. Just long enough to test it. Money is not an object as long as it will fix the problem. I can do this because I have no kids and am not married I just wanted to fix everything that everybody said could be wrong that way I have all of my bases covered. It is either that or tomorrow if this guy answers my e-mail I will have a new second generation 300zx TT. Whichever comes first. Hopefully the 300zx that way I can get my 1000hp car.
  16. Is this the POV in the center of this picture? It is the clostest thing that matched your description. I am going to remove it, block it off, and replace it with a BOV tomorrow. Same with that EGR thing. I am going to attempt to fix a few problems by replacing the water pump with an electric one and getting an electric fan from motorsport auto. I need to get a new wastegate too. Any suggestions on which one? This is what it did to my radiator BTW. Not the best pic.
  17. My boost is set to 7 pounds so when it reaches that amount that is full boost to me. Yes it is an engine and ecu swap. I put a 1983 turbo motor in a 1981 non turbo body and I swapped the ECU. Today I took it out to see if I could figure it out. I just put a new radiator in it, the second one this month. It got destroyed in the exact pattern as the first. It has a large cirlce shape in the center like the fins were sucked in. It has nothing to do with the fan hitting it. I think it might have something to do with my water pump because this is the second time it has happened this time it made my car overheat andsmoke from everywhere including the head gasket. LMK if anybody has any suggestions otherwise I am just going to switch to a V8 and make that turbo with the stuff I have now.
  18. What should I check on the waste gate? To see if it is working? Or the amount of boost?
  19. I don't have a BOV yet. Everything is stock turbo set up switched to a 2+2. No intercooler or BOV yet. That was my next step as soon as income tax money came into play. What does the crank angle sensor do exactly and where is it? Thanks for the help.
  20. After running the engine hard I have had what appears to be a boost problem. When full boost is obtained the engine cuts back to no power, almost idle speed. If the turbo spools up and is running at partial boost then there is no problem. Any suggestions?
  21. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_nuNHI8bjFA You can see it a little better in this one http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QnksgyPsqN4 Looks like a honda front end but IDK which one. Any help would be appreciated
  22. I got mine in 2004 and only traded a motorcycle for it. It was mint condition when I got it. Worked out good for me because I won the bike.
