Progress on my insane VQ35HR 240Z project
Turbo6.0 replied to markrolston@mac.com's topic in Nissan V6 Forum
Awesome build! The links on the first post don't seem to be working for me though. Is there anywhere can I see the earlier pictures of the build? Edit: Nevermind, figured it out... -
Has anybody used these on their LS swap? I am currently trying to get some more accurate dimensions from Speedway... http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Tru-Ram-LS1-Exhaust-Manifolds-Unpolished,53710.html

Forgive me if I use the wrong terminology here. I also know this question will be a little "vague" as far as suspension design and geometry goes but here it is... So I have seen a lot of people using bump steer spacers to change the angle of the lower control arm on lowered vehicles. I have also seen a few setups where the control arm pivot point has been moved up to achieve what seems to be the same effect. My questions: Which way would be recommended? Are the bump steer spacers just easier to install OR is it actually better than changing the location of the control arm pivot point? If changing the vertical location of the lower control arm pivot point would there be any benefit to moving it inwards or outwards to get better geometry relative to the stock steering rack? I know there is a LOT more to the front suspension geometry than this but I figured this was a good place to start. If anybody knows of a good forum thread, website or book to help me really study up on this type of stuff that would be great! Thanks in advance for the helpful responses!

By far the coolest 2+2 I have EVER seen! One of the best S30 cars I've ever seen too! Keep the updates coming!

This is where I purchased my C6 Vette oil pan: http://marineenginedepot.com/MP/PartCategoryDetails.aspx?pnCatID=156300&CatDescr=Parts-Accessories&TCid=2000 By FAR the cheapest I have found for a brand new pan!
-
Thanks for the pictures! I can see that the bell housing actually hangs a little lower than the back of the pan. Ever consider trimming the bell housing for maximum ground clearance? Probably not necessary either way. Got any other pictures?
-
I'm sure somebody has done this but I tried to search and didn't find anything. Has anybody ever used an oil pan from an LS2 or LS3 C6 Corvette? The C6 pan is over an inch shorter at the front of the sump and looks a lot better. Also it has some decent baffling built right in. F-Body & C6 Corvette:

Thanks! 275/40/17 I think. They fit the wheels really well! -
Wider than stock track width?
Turbo6.0 replied to Turbo6.0's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I'm not looking to go crazy. I was thinking to move the control arm mounting points & camber plates outward 1" or so on either side. This is how the car sits now with stock control arms, Megan coilovers and Rota RBRs... -
So I am building a full frame for my 1973 240Z and I am considering making the track width wider than stock. I'm not sure how much wider at this point. I'm doing it for possibly better handling and also a more aggressive looking stance. Any reason not to do this? Is there a "rule of thumb" to follow when determining track width?

I have been looking at what few pictures of this car I can find for quite awhile now but I want to know more. I can't seem to find any pictures from the front. Does anyone know anything else about this car? Anymore pictures?
