  1. clean them and polish them and sell them. they are worth at least $150 for the set.
  2. They look just like mine, mine are original to the car, I got them from the dealer back in 1976. They are Appliance wheels, the centers are no longer available, you can get the Eagle centers and lugs from a place called Masseys in Ok (405) 239-2010).Mine are 14 x 6.The tires are Goodrich TA as you can see and are 205-70-14's.
  3. here now 2/21/2K10

  4. Original owner, 34 years on February 8th. Car was repainted in the summer of 1983. Car now has head light covers, everything else is the same.
  5. Here is my car, hope to see the green ones represented.
  6. Go here "Exterior & Int. Color List 240-Z /280Z" from http://zhome.com Looks like first one non black interior is in 1972 with red.
  7. Mine is Green, to be exact 302 Green Leaf Metallic, seems to be one of the least popular and rear original color. I have never seen another one in person.
  8. I have some here:http://photographictrends.com/zcar/closeup/index.htm Look more than half way down.
  9. My latest fooling around with photoshop.
  10. Here are two pictures of the piece installed on my car. Inside the red circle. They do let the RPM drop more slowly down to around 2k from what ever.
  11. I would check the outer race on the outer front wheel bearings. I had one go bad, slop and it caused me to have a shimmy starting at 35 mph. The z dealer many years ago missed it and replaced the whole strut and that did not work. I finally found it by accident when checking the bearings.
  12. I live in the south hills of Pittsburgh.
  13. Not too many like a green car, but here is mine it's 302 metallic green, original color. This was taken at the Cleveland Z car show this past September. It was the only one of this color. I like the color because I chose it and I have never seen one like it.
  14. It's a shame that an original owner car like that gets wrecked, I hope he gets well soon and I hope he fixes it up. Because being a original owner of a car that old is special and he can registers it on my original owner 280Z site. We have 6 cars registered so far. http://michaelgoodweddings.com/datsun/index.html

    classic plates

I purchased mine around 1986 when my car was 10 years old and out of model and make. That's the requirements in PA. You do have to get them inspected but not emission tested. The plates are a one time buy and you do not have to get them renewed each year. There are some restrictions about amount of driving, but I am not sure of the amount of miles, I think around 6K per year. Not sure on the cost, I would say around $50 to $100.
  17. I like green too!! Mine is original Datsun 302 green. I have never seen one (in person) the same color.
  18. Deja, my 76 is doing the same thing. My hinges are working and everything looks good, the roller is even rolling. If I remember it has made that popping noise for a very long time. The car has 48K miles and has been garage kept from the beginning. I seem to think that its just the way the door hinge works and sounds over time.
  19. Some of my vacation pictures over the last 3 years. The first is from Aruba a sunset. Second is from the Kentucky Derby 2006. Last is from Barbados at the Mt. Gay rum factory. Hope you all like.
  20. Lex, I have a 11/75 manufacture date on my 1976 the vin is 281,114. I have a volt meter without the unleaded Fuel sticker my car required leaded gas. You can see a lot of stock pictures on my website, there are some in the Cleanup area with parts removed for cleaning.
  21. The cap on top of the strut tower is plastic and attached with a plastic rivet. The center of the rivet pushes thru with a nail, then you can remove the rivet and use it again by pushing the little bar back in the hole of the rivet. As for cutting the plastic cap, I am not sure, it might fit back on.
  22. Actually I did not rotate them because I had 205/60/14 on the front and 215/60/14 on the back after I burned off the original tires. Thanks on the color, I like it because it is so 70's and there are not too many in this color.
  23. Deja, I had a shimmy on 76-280 from the time the car was 6 mo. old. I hit a pothole and blew out a tire. Last summer I put on new tires and had the RF wheel moved to the back and the shimmy was gone, it was the wheel, it was bent or out of round ever so slightly. 31 years of living with a shimmy, now I am a happy camper.
  24. The car looks great, I would keep it the original green. Mine is the other green.
  25. I read some where that mice don't like those disposable dryer sheets. They said just place them around in the car and they won't come back. I have not tried it.
