  1. Hey,

I have been considering quiting my current job and becoming a police man for some time now. I was wondering if I could talk with you about some specific questions when you have some free time?

    Thanks

  2. Not bad at all. Got to take her for walks...open her up a bit and see how she fairs to the competition. Maybe add a couple mods as well...perhaps a direct port cat-scent injection system?

Yeah, I take her out every once in a while for a cruse. I'm not sure if the competition in my neighborhood is up to snuff but but it does seem like all the male dogs are always right off her back bumper! She is at the shop today getting modified :( I feel certan that this will help put some space between them. Also, I suppose it will save on a little weight!

  3. Sounds like a great dog. Keep an eye on the growl' date=' but remember that she's actually protecting you. It's a good sign that she listens and settles down when you tell her it's all right. :2thumbs:

Well, actually I dont realy mind if she growls at strangers. As long as she has no desire to bite. It happened again tonight when some friends of mine came in from out of town. The first guy to get to the door just knocked and walked right in. Bailey met him with her head swung low and a deep growl. I just said "Its okay Bailey, thats Greg" . She instantly started wagging her tail and went to him to be pet. Also, if I am the one answering the door she just acts normal. It has only been when people show up that I have not acnowledged....

She definitely has the Heeler look. Our dog is a cross between a Blue Heeler and an Australian Sheppard. He doesn't have the off colored eyes of the Ausy but his shape looks exactly like your dog. He is roughly the same size also so my guess is she's a Red Heeler mix of some kind.

The Heeler breeds are very good dogs, highly intelligent and very loyal but can be a little territorial so be careful with other dogs and guests at your home until you determine her disposition.

I am not really that worried about her around other people but I will watch her. when I first got her she was VERY submisive to the point of peeing a little when you would walk up to her. the only people she has been around have been my girlfriend and when I went home for christmas she was around my whole family but it was in their house. The other day I ordered pizza and when the woman got out of the car Bailey (the dog) walked up between us and started growling. I just told her it was okay and she started wagging her tail. She also loves other dogs but would absolutely love to eat a cat or other small animal.

  5. Way too big to be a heeler. She looks like a real sweetty. Just love her and care for her and she'll be a good dog. You may never find out what breed she is but anyone who rescues an abandoned pup is a purebred in my eyes. :2thumbs:

Well, she is kind of heavy but Im really not sure how much she weighs. When I first took her to the vet she was at 35lbs. The other day I weighed her on the scale with me and she was 55lbs!! Im not sure how accurate the scale is at that point though since that is right at 300lbs on a 300lbs scale.

Also, I was told that because her other eye is a light gold color that she could have some wolf/wild dog in her. Apparently most domesticated dogs have brown eyes.

  6. Mutt :D

If you are planning on taking her to a vet for an initial once over' date=' hopefully he/she will have an idea.

    Nice looking dog.[/quote']

Well, I did take her to the vet the day after I got her. She said that she thought that she was a border collie mix. When I took her for her second shots the other vet said that there was no way she was a BC and he thought she was an Husky mix. Both admited that they didnt really know that much about unusual breeds since they are located at an "all animals" type vet and really deal more with farm animals than dogs. I live in a small town! I have been told that she looks like a Red heeler AKA Austrailian Cattle dog. I called a cattle dog rescue and they said that there wasn't much of a chance that I would find one abandoned in Middle TN.

  7. Okay guys, my dog was killed a couple of months ago. A few weeks ago, I was at the dump and there was this cool looking dog there. The guy running the dumping station told me that he saw some people drop her off in front of the animal shelter (which is located next to the dumping station). He said that people do that a lot to keep from having to pay a donation to drop off their dog! Anyway, I ended up taking her.

I was wondering if anyone could help me figure out what kind of dog she might be? below, I have linked a couple of pics. Some additionial informationt that you may not be able to tell from the pics is...

    - She is more red than brown (she looks brown in the pics)

    - She weighs in at about 55lbs

    - She has one blue eye and one yellow eye (both look odd)

    - She has a mane! It wraps around her head and forms a diamond over her shoulder blades and then visibly continues down her back to the base of her tail

    - She has an amazingly thick under coat!

  8. Try this company:

    http://www.auto-jet.com

I've had good dealings with them and the price appears to be reasonable.

It looks like the tightest thing they have in 2.5" is a 5.5" rad bend. Summit sells a 4" rad bend and that will help me get out past my fat oil pan. Only problem is Summit only sells the mild steel and not the alluminized. I guess I can paint the collectors with high temp paint or something.

  9. I am looking to buy 2.5 and 3" mandrel bent Js or Us. Where would be the best and cheapest place to get these. Also, what is the difference (other than the obvious between the Js and the Us? I have noticed that the Js seem to have a tighter radius?

I am planning on making a custom collector to help clear my oil pan. None of the exhaust places I have talked to want to deal with getting around my 8qt pan. I have made some templates and am pretty sure I can pull it off myself.

  10. I am just now test fitting my headers to my engine and the exhaust is going to be REALLY freindly with my oil pan if I dont make some modifications. Its an aftermarket 8qt low profile oilpan. Im not sure who makes it. Im not even sure if I will be able to bring the passenger side down without cutting the pan. How close can the pipe be to the pan without running into heat problems?

  11. i got miata seats' date=' all years will work. replace the mazda rails w/ the nissan rails and use washers as spacers to clear the bottom the the seat from the floor, pretty simple install.[/quote']

I just nabbed a set of Miata seats, and they bolt locations on the bottom of the seats aren't even remotely close to the bolts on the Z's rails. Did you have to drill new holes in the rails?

Yes, you need to drill new holes in the Z sliders. It's been a while so I am a little foggy on this but I think I kept the original front holes and drilled new rear holes. Also, I am 6'3" tall and didnt want to add any spacers to the seats. If I rememeber right one side bolted right on with no spacers and the other side (the one with the adjuster) I had to use a die grinder to cut some of the alluminum pan from under the seat. Also, the mazda seat is more narrow than the Z seat so you will have to drill new holes in the seat frame in the car. I just kept my existing holes that were near the console and drilled new holes on the door side. I cant really tell that my seat is 1/2" off center from the wheel and it gives me more room with the roll bar.

    Hope this helps.

  12. When I tore my stock engine down I was surprised to find seven X rods and one Pink rod?? There wasnt a lot of miles on the engine and it really didnt look like anyone had been in there before. I guess they sometimes used mix and match parts?? While these rods Im sure would of been fine for what I am doing I decided to go with some like these...

  13. Yes the 22" x 19" Griffin will work. I have one in my 240Z and the sbc 350 runs at 180 degrees on all but the hottest days. No boil overs in 14 months of operation. There is a gap on each side of the radiator. I bought the 22" beacause I mis-measured the distance between the frame rails (it was dark). The Griffin will need to be rubber mounted top and bottom. I am also using a Black Magic electric fan that works well' date=' but does draw a lot of amps making starting a bit slow when the starter gets heat soaked. This weekend I am installing a gear reduction starter and a high amp battery to help with the starter heat soak problem.

Sounds good, where are you located. Im in Tennessee and it gets kinda hot in the summer.
