  1. Ok Fistly what are these heads good for power wise s/r torquer 305 heads 1.94/1.6 (exhaust was opened up) mild port, major bowl clean up comp cams #987 springs steam holes already drilled for 400 58cc chambers I know this is crazy but I like to be different. I plan on running a 335 (305 with 400 crank bored 30 over) 10:1 compression the above heads performer intake Also would those same heads be worth anything on a 350 or would compression be too high and not enough flow? Thanks for the help guys
  2. Hell yea I love those. If your friend decides to do a kit let me know on a price. I have some stock seats and some racing seats that both need recovered. Dont have any idea what the price will be like I alredy have the material for the racing seats though anybody know what labor might run me when I get them done. Thanks
  3. hello guess Ill bite on this one. I almost bought one myself but got a good deal on a performer intake instead. I have had a couple of people tell me they are pretty good. Depending on your rpms and hp it may or may not be a good choice for you. For a mildly built engine id say it would work well. It appears to be very similar in design to the edelbrock performer intake. Should be worth your 35 bucks no prob. Good luck
  4. What about other companies than painless. American autowire or another similar company. Some seem to have some really good kits if your will to spend the bucks but they may even be better than the painless option. Any input?
  5. Man cant believe I didnt think of the shims. That would be the easy route although not perfect. Kinda balance between front and rear door gap though. I dont have a digital camera so pics are nil right now. Any other possibilities??? thanks
  6. Ok heres the deal. I have a 1977 280 that is a convertible conversion. I have a problem with the doors. There seems to be a larger than stock gap on the rear between the body panal and perhaps a little on the front too. I thought that the body might have been sagging for lack of support. However the gap is even all the way down the door and the body seems very straight. Is there some way these could be the wrong doors that were put on or what. I really dont like the gap. Wish I had some pics. Thanks guys

rats those are different fenders then I guess I didnt look hard enough I mine are from jim cook racing with the mock side vents I want to buy the left side only but dont know if thats do able. The wheel decided to come off and mess it up pretty nicely and I am afraid of an extensive fiberglass repair not holding up. That and the backside is filled in with foam...Grrrr. Thanks

Hey dan what type of rear fender flares do you have on your car. they look like mine and one of them needs replacing. Thanks
  9. I know this is an old post but the side pipes mentioned with the website link I would really like to see. The website loads but the pictures dont. I am thinking about side pipes so I would love to see some. Thanks Jared
  10. Still would really like some info and pics for the wiring harness. Any input would be great. Getting ready to dig into my wiring. AHHHHH Thanks
  11. Nice ride there. Im sure you wont have too much trouble trying to sell it. I would really like to see some pics of your gm wiring harness. Im probably going to go that route also. How long did it take you to install it and how much for your wiring kit. Any pictures and info would be hugely appreciated. Thanks
  12. I definately agree with tomahawkz on that one. Been watching this post for ages and not concrete results
  13. Didnt this start as a post where a member was actually going to make and sell some of these parts if there was enough interest. Is that still going to happen looks like there is a year or so of interest built up behind this post. Just curiuos because I would be interested in some interior parts. Thanks
  14. Hey I know you guys are gonna hate me for this but im pretty stubborn. I want to accomplish something different with this engine. I have to study more on it as to how far I can go. But I think it would be really awesome to build a 305 to what most people get out of a 350. Im not to worried about spending money on this motor because I can always part it out. Im a big ebay freak. Anybody have any good ideas besides trying to talk me out of my insanity I was thinking maybe bore the block to take a standard 350 piston the vortec heads I can buy for cheaper than a performance rebuild and valve job or at least the same price. I dunno But Im open to any more weird ideas for a 305 Ive got a fairly flexible budget for parts although the cheaper the better. Only need about 325 hp. MORE IS BETTER THOUGH thanks for all the input so far
  15. Vortec heads have the 1.94 intake valves I believe so those would work right? I can get a new set for 400 bucks or less on ebay
  16. Still want to know can I use regular 350 heads perhaps ones with smaller cc's 58 maybe like the aluminum vette heads Engine runs and I dont think it burns any oil but it has 140,000 miles on it and that rusty carb sitting on top of it is definately not going to go into my z. I want to spend about 800 bucks on the engine maybe a grand. Then Im going to slowly but surely peice together my 350 or 383. I dont have any money to build up the car right now and I dont want to be blowing u joints and driveshafts like some of the posts ive read. I figure with the 305 I wont have to worry about that quite as much. Does anyone have any contact info for the above mentioned company that price seems really good. So will a 350 intake and carb work on the 305 I want to swap the parts onto my new engine when I build it. Thanks for all the input.
  17. Sorry forgot to add that this is from a 1985 custom deluxe truck if that makes any difference. Thanks
  18. Ok just got a free running 305. I know its not a 350 but Im going to build one as I can afford it for now. I am wanting mild performance out of it probably 300 hp to the wheels or close to it. I want to know what 350 parts I can use and how can I get those numbers on a very tight budget. Open to suggestions especially on heads and cams. Need lots of input. Thanks a ton guys. Also thinking about running a 75 shot of juice if that changes anything but dont want to include that in the 300 hp.
  19. Hey mike how much money do you have in your vinatage air unit. I too am looking for something easy to install for hopefully 600 dollars or less but that may have to get stretched. I have a 77 280 Thanks

  21. Man sounds exciting I hope I get that lucky. Please post some pics If you get the car. I hope you get it for 5 bills that makes it all the better.
  22. I still need to know what will work. Is there any reason I cant use a similar aluminum radiator from any car. The junk yard is full of them. just not the camero one. although there are newer cameros with radiators there say 87 or 88-90. Still would like to know what van radiator will work. I really appreciate all the input
  23. thanks for the help. I have heard however that the aluminum radiators such as the griffeth arent designed for road use and can end up leaking prematurely. Will any radiator that size work? I can pull one from a newer car or truck pretty easily. Thanks
  24. Man where did all the good advice go to when you need it. Guess Ill keep waiting. Thanks for the input guys
  25. What van is that. Is that any v6 chevy van. Can i just use any radiator that will fit in the slot or what. Have a junk yard five minutes away but they didnt have any camero's except one that was like an 87 or 88 and jtr says it has to be 84-86. Thanks guys
