  1. (Nicely done writeup as usual RedZ85!) Rufus, we got your cores for the welded CV setup last week so they're in for blasting now. But we've got other cores we're using for yours, to expedite completion of your order, in at machinist already for the fabrication welding. Your prepped stub axles from our cores are already boxed for you, your complete packages will head out early next week The timing on the billet stuff was first time production and came with the expected learning curve for the manufacturer. New runs in stock and shipping as Ryan mentioned.
  2. Jayru, it should clear radially easily as many have installed this package under 14's. The only spot it might interfere would be on the outer edge of the cailper to the wheels front face if at all. This is typically where intereference has occured in the past. For those with interference it's typically resolved with 1/8" to 3/8" thick slip on wheel spacers we've made them for the front. If their's any way you can organize a 4x4 caliper/Z strut (with hub) and one of those wheels it would be quick to check. Any other questions drop us an email. Cheers,
  3. Bartman, you can rotate the fitting on the caliper to point rearward or forward instead of straight up to create more angle in your loop going to the frame rail. This should take care of it.
  4. Bryan, as Speeder notes, it's his mount. We've seen many designs, all very functional (thanks for sending pics all of you!) and will carry a version similar to that shown to production to enhance our present package. Depending on your powertrain configuration and car height etc, some modification may still be required for an ideal install (ie. raise your diff and improve some clearance above to allow it to be raised) but these modifications would not be that challenging with our established pieces. Axles you see are proven - not prototype in full sense, we just had to complete a dimensional check as their are various mounting locations Z owners have been using and we hadn't stepped thru the dimensional check with Speeder's location until early this week.
  5. Thanks to your support the hubs have been quite a success! The trick thread on logo'd caps (same method long proven by many other aluminum hub producers) are well received as well, with some deciding not to run their wheel centre caps! We're amidst doing some custom hubs to suit customers unique choices right now as well as replenishing our usual Z31 and Z Cobra hub stock, and new to our lineup will be OEM 240Z and OEM 280Z hubs which our customers have requested. These new OEM units will be available within 3 weeks or less. If you'd like a custom hub (bolt pattern/offset/rotor) just inquire directly and we can turn around a set quite reasonably for you! Our new billet stub axles can be matched in bolt pattern to suit your unique buildup.
  6. The rotors are 11.4", early Z31 rotors. Full package info here, http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=2 FWIW, 2 days ago drove on a 1/2 mile Nascar oval with Ken's supercharged Z car and our own front 4x4 setup and the rear disk setup above. Not recommended by Nascar but worked for us Pads being used were very mild for the track and still tolerated our mild efforts at learning an oval track (roadcourse wasn't available and that was the day for testing!).
  7. Matt, Quicker 240 and others, the intent was to get at least one of each of our major packages to SEZ so you can see the quality and engineering in person as Scotty said last Saturday 'We like to touch and feel parts, pictures don't give the full flavour alone". Touching seems to bring on the grins and help Z enthusiasts truly understand the passion in our product , http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/mm_gallery.php?album=2005+Z+Fest_Orlando%2F&pic=IMG_3482.jpg We're not intending to send down extra parts unless they're purchased ahead. Your purchase would have to go through by early next week at the latest for the shipment to make it as part of the SEZ products as it's not far away. We can always send you packages afterwards (if stock remains - billet parts going fast at present) but you could save some shipping if part of our lump shipment to SEZ. Just options.
  8. orklc, not sure if we met last weekend? Congrats on hosting a fun show on the Saturday! Not sure what you expected for a turnout but I was quite impressed with all the late model Z's and Infiniti's, the smaller group of 1st gen's was standing proud represented by some great examples! (including Bill Coffee's!) Lots of pictures of your event are up on our site under 'events', '2005 Z_Fest Orlando' , http://www.modern-motorsports.com Congrats again, Ross Corrigan Modern Motorsports Ltd. http://www.modern-motorsports.com
  9. We've got all the play you need and then some:) The R&D time was woth it and we've got it worked out for max compression (can't really get lower than Rick Bowers killer Z!) and extension with both setups, may as well make it fit all! Some are using the narrower Q45 and some the wider.....either diff in EITHER location, ie. centered in the tunnel OR symmetric with the old mustache bar bolts is 100% compatible with our adaptors and axles. Can't wait to get pics online of Rick's setup mocked up, the billet end adaptors with the CV shafts and R230 all preassembled are second to none in strength and quality. It was great to get Scotties strong commendations on the items directly at Z Fest let alone all others I've enjoyed meeting so far and more to come later this week! FWIW, we've also had some axles gundrilled just for fun as some won't need the massive strength of the solid pieces ;^) Will weigh items on our return when we finish all this fun with these incredibly skilled and advanced Z wizards here in Florida!

  11. Thanks Mike. Zfan, the KVR pads are very good cold and have a fine linear friction progression that goes beyond what you'd expect from a street pad. This and very friendly rotor wear and nominal dusting makes for a great combination. Yesterday we were doing laps on a 1/2 mile oval at the speedway http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=99330 in Ken Jones Supercharged Z car with Modern Motorsports front 4x4 setup and R4S pads and Modern Motorsports rear disk setup you're installing with KVR rear pads. Hawks, while being a great pad we work with more on full race setups, won't compare on rotor wear or dusting for a street purpose from our experience. Nice to drive around town and enjoy the highway and be able to have some spirited fun safely all on the same setup! Hope this helps,
  12. We're already making custom centre male male splined CV sections for our R230 package and can easily make any other CV related parts (housings/axles/flanges etc). We've already got someone working with us on an R180 CV solution. We don't expect it to be hugely popular (being an R180) but their has been some specific needs for this from a few we've worked with on other setups. If you've got an idea for a custom piece feel free to drop us a line, if you'd seen our new billet CV and R230 parts etc you'd appreciate what you suggest is easily within our scope.
  13. Thanks for the compliments Scottie and Matt This trip came up on short notice for me and we've had lots underway over past few days here in Florida and more underway yet! I've been meeting so many great folks I've known netwise for years and it's all be fantastic! No offense to those I forget at the moment but I've been enjoying Sottie (Z master), John (Z guru!, that's tight!) Coffey, Ken (blown) Jones, Rick (tuning machine) Bowers, Bill Coffee (yes, the car is real! and looks even more incredible in person!) and the honourable Art (I like singing or was that listening ;^) ) Singer, Mike (600hp 2JZ) Gadwaw and the list goes on The consistent welcomes have been most enjoyed and rewarding! Can't say enough about the great personalities and supportive Z friends I've been meeting in person! We'll have many of our products, including the full billet CV adaptor lineup, R230 billet axles, aluminum hubs, rear fully adjustable control arms etc etc on hand at SEZ for you to check out in person (thanks again Scottie!!). Our new billet lineup is been very well received and it was nice to sign up some racers and nazty street Z's we hadn't met before for some of our packages! Floorless 240Z, do please drop us a line again as your project is important to us and we'd enjoy helping you in any way.
  14. Looks great Bartman Thanks for the rave review, input from others is great. Just confirm your brake line does not get into a rubbing scenario. Those DOT custom braided lines we set you up with are very tolerant but you still want to ensure they stay clear for best longevity. Cheers and enjoy your nearly done car!
  15. Violacleff, if you order your pads most any day they'll ship the same or next day on a pads alone shipment (even while we're away in Florida right now/our shippers still working ). Other setups typically ship within 2-3 days of ordering. If you ever have specific time restraints/scheduling just let us know ahead of time and we can work with this.
  16. Hub type doesn't matter for a slip on rotor, but with either style you're going to have a rotor quite outboard on your spindle/and the Z32 caliper outer face carried out with it. Mike, you're aware of the prior efforts others went through to run Z32 brakes?? (at least one I recall commented in hindsight they wouldn't do that route again) FWIW, we've got aluminum Z31 hubs for your Z that carry the rear right back to fully cover the spindle where the OEM Z31 hubs expose that portion of the spindle near the rear dust seal that your OEM 4lug hub normally covers. Just an option. We can also do custom hubs to your desired offset/flange etc if it turns out your optimal rotor/caliper location doesn't match with the OEM Z31 cast hubs. Our custom hubs turn around reasonably quick, we've got some underway in a machining run right now and can add more in prior to end of next week at reasonable cost. Cheers,
  17. It is sweet music while driving! A HUGE thanks to Ken for being so generous with his car as we drove it yesterday! Absolute blast! The sc is a magnusson blower.....anything but bolt on at present.
  18. Paul, just finished responding to your email q's and see another here Depends on which hub of ours you're referring to. We have a few options, two of which are noted in our webshop, the 5lug Cobra hub maintains the same offset as the stock 4lug 240Z/280Z hubs. http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=60 Our OEM Z31 5lug upgrade billet aluminum hub replaces the 5lug Z31 OEM hubs, which have about 3/4" positive offset versus the OEM 4 bolt Z hubs. http://www.modern-motorsports.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=59 Hope that helps.
  19. FWIW, myself/friends/customers etc have dealt with Roger at http://www.zbarn.com for a few years now. He's very fairly price and supplys a very good service to the Z community. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to anyone. Having encountered some less than stellar service elsewhere I feel it's very important to support those that serve us reliably. We always mention referrals as it's great to remind vendors what a small world it really is.
  20. Hehehe, your eyeballs are going to pop when you see Jim's beauty! It was very inspiring to chat with Jim in our first conversation, he loves cars and has a passion for his scarab that's very strong! He's also greatly enjoyed his late model Corvette and Mike let him know some of the corvette attributes his Scarab didn't quite have (latmodern brake technology/suspension/CVs/quaife LSDetc) could be grafted to his car to further enhance the fun of his hybridz. Jim's accomplished a LOT with this car in the past, and we're very excited to see the pictures, hear his inputs on the transformation from his high hp Scarab to a very well rounded HybridZ with major use of our packages including the front and rear Xtreme 13" DOT PBR brake packages, Aluminum Hubs, CV shafts and CV adaptors, Quaife R200, and Koni race inserts with coilovers etc, combined with JTR relocation (very glad the JTR relocation will occur ). Jim enjoys his vette in the canyons but his Z just couldn't handle or brake in near the same manner he said, this will change massively with Mike and Doug's help Better than an episode of MonZta Garage Looking forward to the pics etc!
