  1. Well we're in West Michigan. Its bad for prices to buy for the public. Prices are rediculous lately. But with the economy, people need to find a way by.
  2. Thats kinda what I'm saying, because a much earlier poster thought high R's in the range
  3. nice car john, my daily is a 9-3 Viggen but I'd love a 9000 Aero..the Viggen is getting tuned at the SOC in the fall..hopefully. As for my next, I'd love the new AWD 9-3, but I'm in school so thats not much of an option
  4. I see that the AEM is for 99-03 skylines..is your engine from an R34!? Where'd you score that? I'm searching lightly, and prefer an R34 motor, but I have time
  5. I'm not doubting the capabilities of my favorite cars! It just takes some to get them good at the quarter as they are designed for passing. And the link you posted was converted to AWD(AWD is not out til mid-2007 as an 08 model, 290-300hp). They put tens of thousands into that car and it surely performs on the drag strip and track, but its not on Saab drivetrain. I wish I had that car!
  6. those 91 supra seats do the car niccely, they look like they could fit the era
  7. I have no idea what they were rated..but the 9-5 has proved to be reliable and the "new" 9-3 is typically rated on the 03 basis, which was only right at the average for a new model. 350K on some of ours and still going strong..almost 120K on the Viggen and great. Makes me wonder what the 240Z has for miles..I'm pretty sure it has rolled over at least, and probably, once..and back to 39K
  8. That car now has 850hp or something and was actually on a 2.0L..but now they use the new 9-3 instead, starting fresh. Another 2.0 Thats the brilliant thing about Saab/Scandanavian/Swedish auto philosophy..the power comes on LOW. They're actually not particularly good drag cars, a lot of it is because no LSD and FWD, also because they are boost limited in 1st and 2nd to keep traction..plus traction control. My Viggen, with 230hp 2.3 HOT(High Output Turbo) gets I think 258 lb/ft from aroudn 2000ish up to the 5K range..don't quote me and if anybody checks, the 2000 has a little more motor than the 1999. Power is full throughout most of the range too. 0-60 at 6.4 isn't too impressive, but from a roll I can take a couple local ZXTT's and hold with 350Z's/STi's. 2nd gear is tons of fun but is limited to like 200 hp or a little less I think. still break em loose in second every time though.. August=Saab Owner's Convention in Detroit=tuning=320whp vs 230whp(stick)=bye!! Not bragging, just going on about it because its my all time fav car, and the only one ahead of 240Z. I talk about my Z on occasion on the Saab forums, too. Can't wait for the RB Z we are going to do..!!! Short Answer:No, Saabs aren't much of a drag car, better from a roll. And No, they are not high-revvers like Hondas, they cary their power from very low R's through the range.
  9. yes, too bad the car is sitting in a museum now The thing about this case was it was all on the original engine, no rebuilds..only headgasket change. The Volvo had more than one engine rebuild, I believe. And the SPG is a performance model=more wear on engine. The B series is a great engine.
  10. you can always add engine, but theres a limit with lighter and the Z has a very light base weight..
  11. awesome, thanks! There is a really nice sounding RB20DET with cams on youtube. Wow, theres a ton of nice Z's down under, I'm gonna have to make it a point to see them when I study abroad there in a year or so! Lot of Z gatherings?
  12. if you want comy believe it or not I've see Saab seats fit into a Z with a roll cage. Viggen/Aero seats are by far your best best for confy and supportive, but you'd want to remove the wide airbags
  13. I REALLY would like to hear some RB series clips; I have searched youtube and google video many times, and most sound riced out(aside from a few). If you have any nice RB clips, notable the RB26DETT but any RB will do, please post a link! We are planning a conversion to RB when we get another Z and I would like to see how close the RB can sound to the L-Series motors! Both badass, and certainly both have the nice sound of the I-6 engines, specifically of Nissan origins! Of course its hard to replace the sound of carbeurators..but I guess turbos would turn on the modern crowd.
  14. justin, did you buy that car out of florida or aren't those your pictures? I saw this car on eBay a while back, with the same impreza in the background
