I wanna change out my stock TEMP and Oil Pressure guages on my 72 Z.
I think there faulty anyways they bounce when car is on. Ive seen autometer guages in other Z's what size fits in the 72 z? Are they relatively easy to replace? Plug and play or do I have to run wires? Any info would help
Ok switched out carbs with a good working set that ran totally fine on my bros 240z. Ok car runs sweet with perfect idle. Problem: Engine still sputters for 10-15 seconds when I turn it off. Then finally shuts off. Where should i start to troubleshoot next?
i was removing my SU'S and installing some webbers when the gasket on the spacers broke. Can I just use some cut a gasket material ? If not wheres a place where i can get a gasket? I cant find on motorsports.
Ok I started at it idled high for 3 minutes. When i turned it off this time it sputtered for 30 seconds thensome black smoke came out of the carb closes to the radiator then it shut off. Bad carb? What do you think?
72 Datsun with a rebuilt swapped motor. Problem: Idles high when car is on and when ignition is turned off the car sputters for 2 mins then turns off. Cranks but doesnt start when turned on. Takes a few times of cranking then turns on. I was told by owner when purchased car first carb nearest to radiator needs rebuild. Has anyone else had this problem? Ive driven car around drives fine other than 2 problems stated above.
Anyone know of any auto shops in the San Diego area that can tune up my 72 Datsun 240z? I have no time and would rather drop off at a reputable shop so I can drive z around. Zwhizz charges an arm and a leg. I just need a tune up. Anybody?
If lets say i have a rustro paint job and i wanted to do a repaint with actual
automotive paint would i have to sand off rusto paint or is the rusto paint ok to paint over with automotive?
Anyone else recently do a $50 paint job on their Z's? Its gonna be a full year for my paint job in Aug and so far it hasn't faded or chipped. Its been parked outside all year on the street!
FINALLY got the plates but took nearly 2 months to get. Looks nice and adds a different look to the car. I had to get pushy at the DMV since the lady totally didnt know what i meant by Historic plates but in all it was worth the 25.00 + 2 month wait.
yeah took out the fuel filter and theres little powder like rust in there. Was able to remove it with some air. Gross..ill have to put this project aside for 3 months as school is in the way.
Local radiator shops do this right? Ive cleaned out the lines before and there were chunks of rust bits but now that this is happening again ill work on it if time permits im in college right now.
oh yeah thats what i forgot to mention i dont have a gas cap maybe some water found its way to the gas tank while i havent been driving it. Well i take it out for a spin this weekend to see how it does so far its been about a month since i took it out.
my 72 z was running fine after i cleaned out fuel lines and changed fuel pump. Ran great till a week ago when i was driving close to empty when the car started sputtering and didnt want to accelerate anymore. I noticed my fuel filter is again filled with little rust debris. Maybe theres chunks of rust in the tank ? I'll clear out the lines this weekend to see if it works normal again but as for now im open for suggestions....... what do you think?
