  1. I have the t5 that came with the motor. And there is no way this car will be babied ever. The FS5R30A is the z32 transmission? Or is it something else?
  2. What is everybody running? My goal is 400whp and Ive been looking into the ka swap but Im not sure it will last long at that power. TL:DR - will a ka24 tramnsmission hold 400whp for a decent amount of time?
  3. Would there be a reason to go with one over the other assuming both will be run on megasquirt?
  4. Trying to pick a motor for my race car that will never see street time. Looking for 450-500whp. I know either will be abit pricey but which can do it easier and more reliably?

  7. Decided to start a build thread for my main Z. Some info on the car: 1980 280zx 2+0 slicktop. Still NA but will be getting swapped soon. Only mods so far: Poly bushings New seats and a harness bar. Now onto the build stuff! Finally got around to replacing the struts and adding some tokico lowering springs my girlfriend bought me for our anniversary. The gland nut threads got bent on removal. Ended up filing them as best as I could then forcing the gland nut in. Hope it holds. Next step: get passenger strut in tonight and do the rears!
  8. Im actually looking into the 7mgte or 1uzfe swaps now. Either can support the power I want and seem to be cheap.
  9. The l28et I have is going in my Zx because it needs a new motor. I want the 240 to be a little crazier.

  11. Wiring for anything sucks so Im not worried about that part. I believe there is an early na 2j in one of the yards around here. May pull that and build it up. Where is a good place to get an r154?

  13. Ive searched around and cant really decide so I thought I would bounce some ideas off you guys. Things I want from the swap: 300hp Reliable enough to run on the track for long periods of time (car will be an endurance racer) Parts that are decently easy to come by Straight 6 layout because I love it. Engines I have come up with are: Rb25det 2jzgte Some kind of bmw 6? Are there any others I havent considered besides the l28et? I already have one thats going in my Zx.
  14. Tryi ng to decide which motor to go with for my build. This will be a full on race car that makes around 400-450 whp. I know both engines are capable of this but which has better (quicker) parts availability?

  17. I was just wondering if there was a way to get a sort of baseline to start fiddling with but is it possible to get an ECU that would work with 440cc injectors, ported head, mild cam and adjustable fuel regulator?
  18. Which megasquirt w system would be best for near plug and play setup in an L28ET swapped 72 240? I've also read that it may be possible to load somebody's megasquirt files into my own to run the car, is this true?

  20. It cranks by hand, forgot to mention that. It is the fusible link thats out because nothing electrical works
  21. After discussing the problem at length, the seller and I figured out that there is a fusible link out in the harness between the battery, ignition and starter. How hard are these to replace?
