  1. I will be returning from Afghanistan in a few months and if I can come up with the right car I may be able to convince the wife. I am looking for a 260z-280z 2/2, preferably slighgtly modified. For example: upgraded suspension, interior, modified engine (not to insane). It needs to be a daily driver, I am willing to get it painted, IT MUST BE RUST FREE. PM me if you may have what I'm looking for. NOTHING OVER $10K, thanks.
  2. Here is some newer photos, and the cars are for sale now $1500 for both of them. By drwharton85 at 2011-02-14 By drwharton85 at 2011-02-14
  3. I have been working on a 73 240z, I am in the process of working on the doors at the moment. When I installed the passenger side door I noticed it wasn't moving properly, where the front upper right section aligns with the F/R fender area there is a large gap, and the lower right section of the door hits that areas section of the door jam. So I know the door is sitting to low, but I aligned the door with the hinges properly. I know both doors came from another car, (don't what year) the drivers side door went on with no problems. Is there a difference in the S30 doors? Or am I just missing something? I attached some photos, don't judge the body filler work its a long story and a there is a method to my madness. 4. I am looking for a spare wheel size R14, that someone has just lying around that they don't need. I need it for a 1973 240z, I am hoping to get it for free or very cheap, and in the Gulfport Mississippi area. If you have one PM me please, thanks a lot.

  6. I have started on the fenders and other front body parts, here are some photos so far. By drwharton85 at 2010-10-10 By drwharton85 at 2010-10-10 Here are some photos of the rear interior. By drwharton85 at 2010-10-10 By drwharton85 at 2010-10-10
  7. So far I have been using a ultra fine finish sponge like roller, using this and mixing the rustoleum 75/25 with mineral spirits, the paint almost seems to be self leveling. I wet sand in between coats with 600 grit wet sand paper then wash the car then paint again. right now it has 2 coats of primer and 2 coats of gloss black, I am thinking another 4-6 coats and she should be a beauty.
  8. There are two coats of primer, and two coats of Rustoleum glossy black to protect the car while I am working on it. In the end I will have 8-10 coats of paint, I have been wet sanding in between coats with 600 grit and will be using a 1200 grit on the final coat then buffing and polishing with a Mothers buffing compound designed to remove fine scratches.
  9. I have been working on the 240z for a hour or two everyday and this is what I have accomplished so far. 10. I haven't taken delivery of the 280Z yet, so I will let you know when I have it.
  11. Actually I will be parting a lot of it out, and using some for the 240Z. My plan is to turn the 280Z into a track car, so it will be stripped down.

  14. yeah it's some work, but he deserves it. Here is a picture of the products i'm using to prime and paint the car with. I will upload some more pics this weekend of the car being stripped and prepared for replacing the really bad rust. By drwharton85 at 2010-09-16
  15. I recently came across a 1973 240Z, and a 1975 280Z for $700 plus another $600 to get them to my house. I have decided to fix up the 240Z for my brother in law who is a big Z fan and really wants one. The 240Z has not ran in 10 years but has been in a garage for most of the ten years sitting. So I am going to attempt to restore it as best as possible with a total budget of $2800-$3200. Here is a list of items to be purchased and replaced with their budgeted prices. Necessary items • Clutch $99.00 • clutch master cylinder $29.00 • clutch slave cylinder $15.00 • front brake rotors $100.00 • front and rear brake pads and shoes $40.00 • weather stripping $200.00 • floor pans $200.00 • wheels, tires, and nuts $550.00 • paint and supplies $125.00 • Battery $50.00 • engine rebuild kit $80.00 • carburetor rebuild kits $40.00 • alarm $100.00 • plugs, points, cap, and wires $75.00 • oil, filters, bulbs, and fuses $150.00 • car $1000.00 • total $2800-3200 Here are some photos and plans for the car. By drwharton85 at 2010-09-13 By drwharton85 at 2010-09-13 As you can tell the 240Z is in desperate need of some TLC, the plan is to remove the Gnose and return it to original design, repair body including floor pans and frame rails, then perform the so called $50 paint job using rustoleum enamel and smooth rollers. By drwharton85 at 2010-09-13 By drwharton85 at 2010-09-13 The Z had been apparently stored in an outdoor barn garage and left, because it had at one point a massive rat infestation, I removed pounds of feces and nesting materials. I will be pressure washing the car with a bleach concentrate before continuing with body prep. The one great thing about the 240Z is it came with a brand new carpet kit. By drwharton85 at 2010-09-13 By drwharton85 at 2010-09-13 Since the engine has been sitting so long and not ran I will be disassembling a large portion of it and replacing all the gaskets and seals, including rebuilding the carbs. I am also replacing all the safety parts instead of rebuilding for obvious reasons, to include the clutch master and slave cylinder, brake master cylinder, brake pads and shoes along with front rotors, and wheels and tires. Besides the safety of my brother in law these parts are pretty cheap and need it. I will be updating every time I get the chance.
  16. I recently purchased a 240z and it has the G-nose setup, I am looking to trade it for the original bumper, face piece, and grille. PM me if anyone is interested.
  17. I am looking for a 4 barrel or even a two barrel holley style manifold for a 240z.
  18. Just curious if this project is still going on?
  19. I'm interested in your Z shell. Can you send me a couple of pics of the battery tray area and the floors? I'm in North Alabama so not that far away.

    Thanks!

  20. At first glance it's like uhhh okkk! But after a few minutes of staring I am sucked into it's simpleness and originality with a little bit of exotic. I like it alot:icon14:
  21. Check out Meguiars they have alot of professional detailing products. http://www.meguiarsdirect.com/index.asp
  22. You need to find a z31 rb20 oil pan (11110-20P00)with the rear sump. Also need to get the matching pickup (15050-20P03) for it. You can get them both from Courtesy NIssan ( www.nissanparts.cc ) for about $200. May also want to get the pickup O-ring (15059-V5001). It will probably take a while to get it in since it will more than likely be coming from overseas.
  23. rudypoochris that is a great index, Can you edit that post and add the skyline gtr diffs? Thanks alot, Donald.
