  1. Passenger side in. Easier than I thought.

  3. Just got the drivers side seat in and thought I'd share a pic. Fitment was no problem and used the factory rails just had to re drill some holes and weld new tabs onto the inside slide where it mounts to the car. No big deal at all. These feel close to the factory size, but with a bunch more support. The seats are great for the price. I had a Procar (Scat) seat and the quality was not near as nice as the Sparco. For $329 hard to beat. I'll put the passenger side in tomorrow and post a view.
  4. Thanks. I'll check out Howard's place. And relieve your boredom madkaw next time I start another project. I'm actually in Illinois in Edwardsville. About 7-8 miles North of Collinsville, straight up 157 which is where you most likely stay I imagine.
  5. Looking for other like minded Z owners. I'm a married white male, oh wait wrong forum... Anyway anyone in St. Louis?
  6. I just got both the front and rear bumper. Got the front on, but these could use some mold tweaking. Brackets are not well placed either and the install hardware is a bag of carriage bolts, nuts and washers. I had to tighten the bumper a fair amount to get it close to the body, hopefully not enough to crack it over time. The rear seems about 2" too wide and the brackets are not spaced the same from the sides of the bumper. We'll see how it mounts. If it sucks or has waves, back she goes. I also don't think this is the same guy making these for MSA. The bumpers were a bit fresh when packed and I had the bubble wrap impressions as well. For Oscar a couple tips: 1. Invest in packing material. 2. Invest in some decent boxes. It's cheaper than replacing bumpers. We'll see how it goes.
  7. The hole issue is what I'm trying to get a look at. I assume it doesn't cover them so I'm trying to brainstorm a elegant solution.
  8. Anyone have pics of the MSA carbon fiber rear bumper mounted on a 280? I been searching and searching to avail...
  9. That line is one of the vents. The tank was FULL of sh*t so I flushed it like crazy, cleaned with some metal degreaser that contains phosphoric acid, then rinsed, 2 acetone baths, let it dry then coated it with Red Kote sealer (from NAPA). So it's all back together now (and I replaced the mustache bar bushings while I was in there) and seems to be fine. Feels like it pulls harder and runs better but who knows, time will tell.
  10. Glad I could facilitate a beastiality discussion...
  11. Got the tank out (2 beer job, btw) and took some shots. One is from the fill neck and the other from the sending unit. I'll get it clean this week. Return line looks secure, but no idea what's on the other side of the baffle. I'll check with the tank guy and see what he says. I feel like cutting the top open just to see what's doing.
  12. Damn thanks, EXACTLY what I was looking for: Hand-holding! I knew I liked you!
  13. Any way to get a look inside that bad tank? I'd like to see what's inside as I could easily just make a new one if there isn't anything nutty going on inside. Just hate to be without the car while I'm doing this.
  14. After looking again the hose that's making the noise is what I think is the return. It's the small line that does not go into the pump, but is right next to the hose into the pump.
  15. I've been driving my newly acquired 75 280Z for a week now at just about 200 miles logged. When the car was shipped to me I got it with a full tank which I thought was both odd and nice of the PO. At half a tank I got some sputtering like it was out fuel so I thought the PO didn't fill it up and instead had a bad gauge and I was on empty, so I filled up. Again at half a gauge and now lower I'm getting the sputtering again AND a buzzing sound from the rear of the car. I changed the fuel filter and the fuel that came from the IN side was a nice brownish tint. After changing the filter the buzz was gone and I noticed an instant improvement in throttle and idle. I figured all was well until I was almost home and got another sputter and the buzz noise returned. I climbed under the car while it was running and looked for the noise and found the "OUT" fuel line from the tank was actually creating the noise and vibrating slightly and not from the pump directly as I had assumed it was. I assume it's time to drop and clean the tank? Thanks in advance.
  16. The offset is 0, and the backspace is 4.5". No rub or fitment issues what so ever. TONS of room.
  17. XXR 527's. 16x8.25 with 215/50-16. Eibach and Tokico. Got bumpers and new exhaust on the way. Bad cell pic, btw.
  18. Anyone else have pics or experience with fitment (particularly 16x8.25) with this wheel? Trying to decide between this and the SportMax from MSA. I'd like to use 225/50-16 but there are conflict reports on whether or not this will fit (75 with springs/sturt pkg.).
  19. St. Louis / Kanas City / Chicago / Indy Looking for a 280z, no rust buckets or projects. Needs to run and be a daily driver WITH 5 speed. Not really concerned with paint condition or interior as long as it's all there. Prefer 1977/1978 with FI. Will consider all though!
