My frends car is having some problems. When she trys to stop the whole car shimmys? I dont know much about suspension so I thought I would ask you guys. Its a high frequency shimmy not like brakes its like; brdrdrdrdrdrdrd, kinda like rumble strips....its hard to explain. Also it be felt through out the whole car too. At first I kinda thought it was brakes but idk it jst does feel like it. Maybe Im wrong. Also when she stops the noise doesn't like slow down, it jst cuts in and out. Lol the more I describe it the more I think its brakes. Any way like I said I don't know much about suspension yet and I really want to learn so, through research hopefully Ill learn more.

I assume since you didnt mention it you already checked but are you sure your getting fuel -
I saw this in Pop mechanics a while ago, its way cool. Your right braap the possiblities are endless.

O shoot knock, I never thought of that:icon11:. Ok well, I guess theres really no way around it: you have an explosion which makes heat, you have metal all around the explosion which absorbs the heat. Which is good to a certain degree, but bad after that. "cooling" really is just taking the heat away and putting it somewhere else. If only there was a way to on the subnuclear level slow the down the molicules vibration haha.

I read somewhere that 70% of the energy produced by the engine is lost through heat. I dont know how accurate thats is or if that applys to every engine. Im really big on efficiency, heating my house cooling it, anything. But anyway but I came up with idea to get around this. The problem with cooling the engine is you cant have the cylinder walls cold, the heat of the combustion will constantly be trying to heat it...not good for efficiency. Soo what if you took an engine block and bored it out as much as safely possible. Then machine 2 tubes (for lack of a better term) for each cylinder. One thin one out of a super heat conducting material, the other as thick as possible out of a super heat insulating material, like NASA type stuff lol. Have the thin one inside the thick one inside the block...thaaatway the cylinder wall could be super super hot (which is good) and anything that didnt need to be hot wouldnt be, like the rest of the block. And keep the factory cooling system. Sorry for the long post but thanks for reading. MacZ

wow, thats a wicked cool costume, looks great. -
Do you mean, unless it was like mine of in worse shape? But any way, Ive got kinda of a good deal infront of me now so I guess im just gonna sell mine for as much as I can.....Any one want to buy a 280 for 2g's? haha
-
OO ok I see, thats it just dangle the offer in front of me then yank it away... ...I feel like kind of a fool now for thinking youde REALLY trade me a 240 for a 280 lol.... but beside that, do you think any one ELSE would? Thanks MacZ

Wow, i really like the interior, love that lighting. And I like the stance from the front with that slivver of window at the top. I like how they fit the whole side body line into the taillight section of the rear. I dont know about the rest of the rear though, it looks like they just didnt know what to do, the ehxaust placement really saves it, it makes the rest look right. Overall Ide say it looks pretty good. Jst my .02 cents....

Lotta rust where? The body doesnt really bother me cuz ive been wanting to brush up on my rust removal anyway. It being on the chassis is what really bothers me, lol but I know beggars cant be choosers, think you can post some pics, your pretty close to me and im pretty interested. Thanks MacZ

lol, not liken the sudden silence... i guess no one liked that idea. "any one wanna trade a running 280 for a non running 240?"..cricket cricket. Im thinking of having the interior done right b4 selling it, Idk how much that will affect the price.
-
Lol, 200mph? psssh, mine can fly!! But yea in all seriousness I was affraid of that. The frame, btw, DID have SLIGHT rust, but I had it proffesionally reapaired and undercoated so there is now NONE! Yea, idk how that will effect the value. See I have 2 76's, this 1 and a non running1, what I plan on doing is when i sell this 1, pull the motor out of the other 1 and strip it down and completely custom build it. Then I will buy a 240 with either no motor or a non running motor and swap it out...think anyone will even up trade for a 240? maybe thats a stretch... MacZ

I made a post about this a while ago, how much I could get for my 1976 280z. Ive decided to end the project a little short and just sell it the way it is, so I can move on to my next project. I dont have any pics yet but its jst your run of the mill 280z. N42, so non egr intake manni. 6 new injectors, the intieror was basicly just new carpet thrown in, If you wanted it done right you would prob want to do it all over. All of the plastic is is in good shape, not faded not cracked. Has a new dash cap. Seats are ripped and have covers over them. Little rust outside, mostly jst surface, one or two spots it goes through, looks like the PO tried to fiberglass it. No bumpers. All glass is good. runs strong, 2 inch exhaust with no muffler. Paints not the greatest, some dings. 57k miles. Anyone think I could get 2 thousand for it? Thanks for the feedback. MacZ

I bought a cambell house, or somthing like that, it was all i could afford at the time....this has nothing to do with the thread btw..... but anyway, it was only a 70 amp haha, i was tryen to weld things for my first time, and it kept over heating and switching off. So being my tinkering self, i decided to intercool my welder lol, so i tore it all apart and got this ridiculous set up going and it was waaay cool, but through some unknown malfunction the only thing i managed to cool was the safety thermostat, haha, so im their welding thinking man this is working great when all of a sudden BANG!!!, i melted all the insulation off the transformer and shorted it, lol. but now i thing im gonna get the welding and cutting tips for my sedalene oxy torch so its all good. haha

My brother had an instructor much like this, although not so much grabbing the controls allot, just yelling at him all the time, "Get off the brakes! GET OFF THE BRAKES!!" and things like that. My bro would always turn from base to final too soon and be to high and the instructor would get all mad and flip out on him...but he just bit the bullet ,as it were, and dealt with it. Your instructor does however sound allot more challenging than his. This prolly didn't help much just thought Id share this story with you. Hope everything works out for you.
