Putting a 80-81 AFM into a 76 L28?
sicripp83 replied to nesto92's topic in S30 Series - 240z, 260z, 280z
I tried this on my 78 and it didn't work for me. seemed to run rich, backfired through exhaust. needless to say I took it off after one test drive.- 2 replies

In need of BC coilover follow up
sicripp83 replied to sicripp83's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
I didn't know t3 would send me a complete suspension in return for my cores. that's interesting! I plan on keeping this car and molding it to my tastes for years and someday give it to my son. I want to do the suspension once! its too much money to do it twice. so as far as quality, something that will last 20- 25,000 miles maybe more before a shock rebuild. that's if I can rebuild them at all! I guess what im trying to say is that I want the best bang for my buck. for spirited driving, some drag strip, autox, and track day events. ill check that BC thread again, I haven't followed up in about a month, maybe some more feed back has been added. thanks again -
hey guys, Iv been reading for days about suspension's for the s30 chassis. since coilover is the way to go, im torn between a t3 set up and the BC setup. the BC kit seem easier to install vs. the t3 having to section the struts. im just looking for some more feed back from people who have used the BC's on their s30. searching hasn't gotten me very far. any other input from suspension guru's on the quality of BC's would also be great. thank you

hey guys Has any one used replacement body panels from Mill supply inc. www.rustrepair.com Im looking into some body work this winter and woundering if any one has sourced body panels from them, and your experience with them. thanks guys

that makes sence. to be honest, iv heard it mentioned here on HybridZ more than any mustang web site I used to browse back when I was into fox bodies. so I had to find out what it was all about. thanks going to do more google searches and see what else I can find.

hello all, I have been reading for some time on the building of l28et motors. I have read that some people run water injection, while others do not. I understand that it is used to cool the air/fuel mix. but wouldn't a efficient I/C be a cheaper, less headache solution? I only ask because im trying to get ready to build one, and trying to do my home work. any input would be great

I ended up ordering a xenon one from jegs FREE shipping got it a week and a half ago. just finishing up mounting it up. built a spoiler undertray for it. should keep it from flexing. so once the weather breaks and I can spray some paint on it, it will be done

hey guys iv been reading a lot on chassie fabrication, ect.. and im looking to start on my '78 z. the question I have is how dose every set their car up for these modifications. for example do you leave the car on the suspension and weld on your braces , frame connectors, ect or do you set it up on jack stands and level the car? and if you do set it up on jack stands wheres the best place to place them? iv searched a lot of fab web sites but most guys seem to put their cars on chassie bench's. not every one has those. thanks

newzed the liners do not protrude from the exhaust manifold flange surface. they are slightly inward maybe 2-3 mm. while checking this I did not that the rest of the liners are loose though, but will not move back and forth.

hey everyone I got my Z running real good over this past fall, only down fall was the annoying exhaust leak. so I got my self a new gasket and tore the intake and exhaust manifold off. only broke 1 stud. 2 were already gone but what kinda bothers me is that the #1 cylinder exhaust liner was broken, and I basically pulled it out with little effort. I have no intentions on rebuilding or swapping in a new engine at this time. im going to replace the gasket and run it, just wanted to know if its going to run poorly thanks

1978 280z smooth idle, spits and spudders while driving

I solved the issue, car runs great now. it was a combination of a dirty fuel tank and bad gas lines. -

I haven't got into timing yet or valve adjustment. reason why is that some times the car runs great! mainly before the thermostate even opens, but it dose run good while warm too. its sparatic which is leading me to the fuel system -

it starts fine and idles great. i went through and checked all the circuits as explained in the efi bible. everything checked out as it should. the previous owned told me he has drained the gas and put in fresh gas. after looking further the gas tank drain plug has never been removed. im going to assume that he just added fresh gas to 7 year old bad gas. so i drained the tank tonight, smelled bad! tomarrow im going to drop the tank and give it a look and clean it out.
