    Gas Tank, 3

  3. Hi all, So I accidentally purchased the fuel tank straps for a '75-76 280z which, unbeknownst to me, is apparently a different size than the '77. Has anyone had any luck with some sort of universal fuel strap kit? Alternatively, does anyone have the measurements for the '77 straps so I can find a close substitute through AutoZone or other stores? Thanks!
  4. So I took a little hiatus from the project and had to focus on school work. As a grad student, I'm also on a very limited budget and unfortunately had to sell the SBC. Never had a chance to even install it. Anyway, I'm finally back to work on the Z and decided to reinstall the original L28. It engine hasn't been started since 2003 when it was last put in storage so I had a mechanic buddy come to the garage and turn it over by hand. According to him the engine looks great and has a lot of potential, so we went ahead and installed it! After speaking with some folks I decided to drop the fuel injection and switch to the Arizona Z Car intake with carb. Purchased the entire intake/carb setup from another Hybridz member. Also added new starter, alternator, and radiator. Not technically mounted yet, but I put the air dam in place. I think it'll look so cool!

  10. Hi Phantom, just saw your post... I'm working on my PhD in political science. I've finished with all my course work and comprehensive exams and just starting to write my dissertation. I hope to finish in another year or so!... The garage is fantastic and really lucky to be surrounded by very knowledgeable folks including "1 Tuff Z" who has been incredibly helpful and I've learned a great deal from him!... Actually, I just realized I haven't updated this build thread in a while and suppose I'll do that now!
  11. Thanks BluDestiny! I'll pull it and take it to the store. It's a little corroded, but I figured since I'm replacing the hoses I might as well replace the fitting while I'm at it. Besides, I imagine it probably costs only a dollar or two?
  12. Hi all, I've got a rookie mechanical question for you... What is this connector called? [NOTE: This isn't my vehicle and I only Googled this image for purposes of this post.] It connects the outbound water from the engine block to the heater core behind firewall. The reason I ask is because (1) I'm new to cars and learning as I continue to work on my project and (2) I'm getting ready to order new hoses and would like to replace that particular connector. I presume it's common enough to order from AutoZone or Summit? Thank you!
  13. Hey guys, So it doesn't appear that anything has been listed recently on the 'for sale' forum so I figured I'd post something here... Looking for set of chrome/silver fender mirrors. Would like something similar to those pictured below, especially the JDM style but without the $400+ price tag! Any leads greatly appreciated!
