  1. What is the stock boost level on GN's? I'm not planning to go beyond 18psi with my current turbo so I'm probably going to be ok. It's gotta be better than my current one.
  2. Just bought GN intercooler for 60 bux. Wonder what the pressure drop would be with 2 in parallel????? Bernard
  3. Can you explain how you got the ignition stuff to work? Are you using the stock turbo cas and the gm hei module for ignition? Bernard
  4. I can buy one for a C note. I'm sure I can sell my Starion for that. I'm gonna go for it and do the mods on the pipes and see what happens. Thanks for the info guys. Bernard
  5. How good is the GN intercooler. It's gotta be better than my Starion POS. I can pick one up cheap but if it's not much better I'll wait to get something worthwhile.
  6. I ran the stock turbo with 370's and stock fuel pump for about 2 weeks. It became evident immediately that the stock pump isn't worth much. I couldn't get any more boost from the stock injectors versus the 370's. As soon as I changed the fuel pump I could ran 15psi with no problems at the top end. I didn't spend much time tuning the afm and switched to the z31 ecu with the stock injectors the next spring. In my case it was the fuel pump that was the problem. Tony D: You can control spark with megasquirt'n'spark. I'm waiting for someone who's already posted in this thread to get the spark part working.
  7. Sounds like a nice set up. Is there any way to see some pics of this install ???? Thanks joel I second that. I would be nice to have some gearing options with the ford rearend.
  8. 89+ maxima or 240sx tps bolts on has both the switch and the resistor type tps and is a direct bolt-on.
  9. Jamie, do you know if that turbo has an internal wg? This is what I'm looking to do for next year.
  10. t04b 60trim .60a/r cold side, stock t3 hot side. Talk to Glen at Western, he's a straight shooter and knows his stuff. Bernard
  11. It's snowing here this morning. Guess no more Z for this year. No parts but if your buddy wants the ecu recalibrated for maf and bigger injectors I can help him out.
  12. Brad: I may be able to set him up with cheap fuel management (bigger maf and bigger injectors/fuel pump) with a chip. Bernard
  13. I've discovered where the "switch" is for the minimum voltage for the maf. Now I just gotta get some resisters. I will then have a fuel map that starts with .8 volts or so at idle and goes to 5vdc. Next step is changing the max voltage to 5.6?. Another Nissan guy is making some maptrace equipment which I should have in my hands in the next month or two. Tuning should be a lot easier soon. Bernard
  14. I bought the gm manifold air temp for the GN. And I'm using the stock CHTS. You can regen tables by using easytherm. You can actually use any sensor you want as long as you know three temp=resistances on the curve. Boil the sensor in water, measure temp and resistance. Do the same in the freezer and at room temp. If you're just starting out you should read through all of this: http://members.shaw.ca/megasquirt/MS%20FAQ.htm
  15. It's an optical pickup with a 0-5 square wave. Not sure on the duration but I have scope pix of it. So you're saying I can trigger the mss directly with that signal? My need for the gm hei module is solely for dwell control. I think we can fire the coil directly, no need for the transistor. At least that's my understanding. How can we get the signal from the mss thru the hei module and fire the coil? That's the 64k question.
  16. It's programmed into the timing map. When a certain amount of airflow is reached the ecu starts to pull out timing. I can check a NA map to see if takes out timing as well. I don't think it would but I can't say for sure.
  17. Stock Gasket and Arp studs is all you need. (for another 6 years) Bernard Oh yeah and make that damn Priddy pay for it
  18. Thanks TBS, I've got the maps off of the 85 already and I'll send you the maps. I'd like to try a 83.
  19. Is the resister pack before the injectors on the voltage feed? I have a resistor pack from a 81 turbo and that's how they were setup. I suppose it doesn't make a difference but I'd like to know just the same. What kind of mods to get those injectors in? I'd like to use some 550cc Supra turbo injectors if they'd fit.
  20. Boyd, couple of questions: 1. Where are you getting the rpm signal from, and will that change once the spark is successfully installed. 2. What impedance injectors (resistors) are you using and what have you got setup for pwm? 3. What did you use for the Intake Air Temp? I'm thinking about ripping out the airtemp sensor in one of my spare AFM's. Did you use easytherm at all? That's it for now but I'm sure I'll have more.
  21. Please post info asap!! I'll be starting this on Monday. I hope to have the fuel part installed tomorrow then with a bit of luck I can get a hei module and get that going.
  22. Scotty, I'm specing a turbo right now with a local turbo shop. What are you running to get times like that??? Bernard 87 turbo eccs Soon to be M'S'S'd
  23. I'm going to be using my factory crank sensor (turbo) so I can't help with the NA distributor. Have you figured out the gm hei module wiring??? This is the part that's a little fuzzy for me.
