  1. I'm speechless. Nice video. Sounds like a beast. Julius
  2. Thanks EvilChuckie. I would like a darker blue like Nissan's "San Marino Blue." I live in CA (smog laws) and since its a '78 I going to keep this my daily driver. I have a '71 rolling chassis that I'm building up that's going to be a screamer. Julius
  3. With the help of Derek (aka Challenger) I was able to finally post some pics of my '78 280Z 2+2. Still a work in progress. I finally welded up the moulding holes on the body and the rear section below the lights (shaved rear-end). I hope to get it painted next month. Julius
  4. Click on the link below and scroll to the "Modifications for more HP" section. Hope this helps. http://zhome.com/ Julius
  5. Finally got my silicone hoses from "Verocious Motorsports" yesterday. I purchased the "Starter Kit" for $88 + shipping. The quality is good. However there are some hoses I still need. If I were to do it all again, I'd probably be better off paying the extra $30 and ordering the pre-assembled kit I listed in my original post. FYI. Thanks again for the input. Julius
  6. Schwiplarkin, Why do you say this type of turbo set-up wouldn't be feasible for a daily driver? Can you expand? I'm building a turbo for my 240Z (F54/P90) and I'm trying to read as much as I can about the blow thru turbo, draw thru turbo, and efi turbo set ups. I like the "Old School" style of the carb'd turbo but I don't want to continually have to tune it to keep it running right. Thanks. Julius
  7. I'm no insurance expert but if the cost of repairing the vehicle exceeds the value of the car, then the insurance company will considering it a "total loss." Since your Honda looks to be a late 90's car and the damage is pretty extensive, the insurance company will probably consider it a "total loss."
  8. Thanks for everyone's input. Its great to hear honest replies from you guys. Plus its gonna save me some money for other parts! Julius
  9. Hello. Just wondering if any body on this forum purchased this kit from Ebay. If so, what did you think? Thanks in advance. Julius http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&item=330205243622&_trksid=p3984.cWAT.m240.lVI
  10. Awesome thread. What's great about this site is all the expertise and experience people put into what they write. After reading all the above posts, who's product (rear and front adjustable control arms) works the best? Modern Motorsports? AZC? I'm just a curious consumer looking to invest in these aftermarket products. Thanks. Julius
  11. I was interested in those flares as well. I came across a write up on his car and it listed "Al’s Bodyworks in Austin, Texas (512-836-1851)" as the ones who made them. The write up stated this particular body shop has fiberglass molds available for sale. I called up and he said he didn't have any molds and it was a mistake. He said custom fiberglass ones would be $800 and a whole lot more for metal ones. Extremely pricey for my budget. However, its an very, very nice Z. Here's the link to the write up. http://www.viczcar.com/Featured-Rides/Mark-Rolston-s-RB26DETT-Powered-240z.html
  12. Very very nice. Not sure what kind of performance value you get out of the pieces since I'm not very informed on suspension upgrades. The AZC website didn't put a price on the pieces. How much are they?
  13. I think that I mistated the above. Apparently the carb/turbo set-up Mike's Z shop is helping me out with is different using a different style intake manifold. My appologies. Like I said earlier, I'm just trying to get as much info as possible. Sorry for the confusion.
  14. First let me start by saying that I have zero knowledge on this set-up. I'm building up a F54/P90 engine for my new '71 240Z project and the guy who's helping me with the build (Mike's Z Shop, Whittier,CA) suggested a carb/turbo set-up. We've been looking for an intake manifold for a single 2 barrel carb and when I suggested the Arizona Z 4 barrel manifold he said it wouldn't work. If have more knowledge on the set-up then you are way ahead of me and I'd appreciate any advice. Good luck. Julius
  15. KooNeon, what kind of intake manifold will you be using for your set-up?
  16. Wow! Excellent job. Its posts like these that keep me motivated and inspired to move forward with my projects. Keep up the good work and good luck....Jules
  17. Thanks for the info re: Arizona Z car. Their control arms look very nice (and expensive). I'll be posting pics of my Z in a few days. Thanks again for all the help and advice.
  18. Thanks for the advice. Any suggestions on where to get a good adjustable control arm/TC rod?
  19. Hey folks. I just put on an MSA Type 3 Air Dam on my 78 280z 2+2. I opted for the one w/ a grill already installed. Save your $30. It's poorly attached (staples w/ bondo) and doesn't look that great. The Air Dam fit pretty good w/ a little bit of timming and it bolts up pretty secure. The thing I discovered is the clearances between the front tires are different. More specifically, the passenger side front wheel is closer to the front fender/air dam than the driver side. I asked 2 different alignment shops about this and they both said the '76-'78 280z all have that feature (meaning the passenger side wheels are pushed more forward than the driver side wheels). I guy suggested a caster kit to solve the problem but I've yet to find one. Any suggestions?
  20. I had a similar problem. Try changing the throttle position sensor.
  21. Thanks for the advice. I'm new to this website and Z cars. Thanks for all the great information.
  22. This is a very interesting thread. After reading all the previous posts, how big of a TB would someone recommend for an L28 N/A engine with a mild cam, header with 2 1/4" exhaust, and MSA intake? What do you guys think about the bigger TB sold by MSA?
