still looking around the problem. overflow is not cracked. doesn't look like it's coming from cyl 6. someone suggested heater core? but if it was heater core wouldn't it leak inside the car? sorry for the late reply btw. been working on my other project car >.<

CLSD is from the z31 turbo right? any of them?

has anybody made one? or custom fitted a lip from maybe a 240sx? or another car with a similar front airdam shape?

I want to do a diff swap on my zx from the stock 3.9 to the 300zx LSD rear diff or maybe a different one like the q45 rear or the J30. I used the search button but all I could find was writeups on putting the LSD r200 on an s30 not on the s130. I could've missed it but if there are writeups available i'd love to take a look see before I venture out to the junkyard so I make sure I get all the right stuff. thanks

I have an 83 with the digital dash and recently i've been noticing that after start up sometimes, it leaves the check light red, and when I press the check button, it says water. but after filling water, a few miles later or maybe even the next day, when I start the car again, it's asking for water again, and the reservoir is empty again. I obviously have a leak, but I can't seem to eyeball where it's coming from. anyone know where it is and why it could be leaking other than old age? also, is it a problem I need to fix immediately? thanks, all the help is appreciated.

lately my radio has been switching stations on its own and turning off, it's really annoying but sometimes it doesn't do it at all. Is this a common ZX radio problem I can fix? I originally planned to just scrap the factory radio anyway and get a more modern one, but if it's an easy fix I can save some $$ in the mean time anyone else have this problem?

well I knew that about the smog, its just exemption from the bi annual check up. making the car smog exempt really isn't the goal i'm pursuing, its being able to drive the car on the street and not be hassled for the swap. friend of mine has an integra with a swapped motor he doesn't get in trouble for but that's because he went through BAR but the 1ggte won't work out with BAR. just like s13's can't qualify SR20s A shop over here in Burbank "Elegant Auto Sport" has a track s14 with an RB I think in it? maybe an SR, friend of mine told me that the guy told him that with the way his car is registered he's allowed to drive to and from car shows and not get hassled by police because of its registration. BUT it can only drive a certain amount of miles per year or something like that. can anybody validate that? I tried looking it up but can't find anything even close to that.

Great feedback, I see that maybe registering my car as a specialty car might be a little rough, but what have others been doing? Just registering their cars as regular everyday cars and paying off a smog guy? Dodging police to hide their SR's and RB's?

Also, the cobra was a car that actually existed in the US, would it matter that the car I would be trying to "imitate" didn't exist in the US?

So if I registered my car to imitate the C210 skyline which is pre '75 it would be treated as a pre 75? And I can register it with the 1ggte? Has anyone on the forum done this to confirm? Maybe another s30 owner with the cobra kit?

So my project corolla is almost done, problem is, it's got a 1ggte from the jdm GA70 supra. The car is a 76 (I know, 1 year..) so it would have to go through smog checks and what not. Has anybody else successfully registered their cars in CA with an illegal JDM motor? SR20, RB26, etc.? I've heard that the SR20 can pass smog but would never pass the visual test, i'm sure I can figure a way to make the 1ggte pass smog, but what would I do about the visual? i'm also "sharknosing" the corolla and swapping its lights to imitate the skyline C210 (very bosozoku inspired, go ahead and flame) so I thought about maybe registering the car as a Specialty car? or maybe go the SB100 kit car route since it won't look like itself anymore? Also, i'm not going to be daily driving the car so it won't see a lot of the road, but I do want to be able to drive it without a lot of trouble. I've heard of track cars and show cars with motor swaps and such that are legally allowed to drive to and from shows or to and from the track but I don't know what kind of registry or route they took at the DMV. Especially in CA. I'd like to hear from people with personal experience on this, but any help is appreciated. thanks.
