I've been wanting more hp and the simplest way I could find and was suggested by many was a turbo. I'm not the expert at all with engines or anything but I have been discussing this with other hybridz members and the autoshop teachers at my school. (option 1) Although I really want a turbo, I can't afford a whole new turbo engine to put one on, BUT i have heard that people just get the exhaust and intake manifolds and run the turbo on the L28E. I know the compression rates are different between the L28E and ET but I was told that the engine will do fine, I just can't use all that much boost. *zxman69 posted in the s130 roll call that he is running a turbo with stock internals and an emerald ecu (page 7) (option 2) Another option I was given was an engine rebuild to change the compression rates on my engine. Which is cheaper than getting another engine, and more realistic with my current budget. (option 3) I was also told I could run an intercooler which would in turn decrease the volume of air going in the engine to avoid pinging, but just how big of an intercooler do I need? I am currently really looking into option 1 but I'm not quite sure what parts I need to make it happen, so far I know I need -turbo exhaust manifold -turbo intake manifold -turbo t3/t04e -turbo ecu -turbo fuel injectors -turbo fuel pump I know i'm missing more stuff but that's why i'm asking for help. Any other suggestions and ideas will be greatly appreciated. thanks a lot guys!

nevermind, they really are pieces of s**t anyone know where i can get a stage 1 or stage 2 clutch?

My clutch is feeling pretty worn, it feels like when the clutch was burned out when i first got the car. now i'm thinking of getting a stage 1 or stage 2 clutch to replace the one that I have. The problem is is that I have an NA coupe. and the clutch's made by exedy, and clutchmasters are only for the turbo. black dragon automotive has a vinyl interior kit that includes the luggage riser. As for the shock towers, the kit comes with like covers that go around the shock towers, i've seen them on other z's before they look really nice and you really can't tell they're covers

when you say it messes up at low speeds, what do you mean by low speeds? 10mph, 20mph, 30mph, cuz i mean if it's lower than 30mph I don't even think i'd need to watch my speed. and it what way does it mess up? the numbers jumble up or what?

turbo exhaust manifold? how much?

I know I know, my digital dash is really messed up. my tach is always all the way up like it always reads that it's redlining. anybody know what's wrong with it? the Z specialists I go to said it's the vacuum hoses but that seems straight up wrong and even the auto teacher at my school thinks that's a ridiculous answer. the auto teacher at my school said he could try and figure it out if i could get my hands on a wiring diagram from a factory manual or something. If anybody could post one or email me one in a pdf form or something like that that would be so much appreciated as well.

it sounds good, but its kinda shady, I dunno if i want to do that. has anybody done it to their car successfully? and how does the finished product even look when it's back onto your car? and how bad does it mess up on the numbers? didn't he say that it messes up when you're going like 20mph or something?

I have searched this and have had no luck so i'm sorry if someone else has posted this, i probably wasn't searching good enough. i have a 1983 280zx and i noticed that the spedometer doesn't go past 85 even though i feel myself going faster. at first i thought maybe it's because it might have only 2 number spots but then i thought why doesn't it go to 99? I then decided that i'd press the button and switch to kilometers and it goes up to 160 i think or whatever 85 miles is in kilometers. something like that. so now i realize that it's capable of using 3 numbers. it just doesn't do it when i'm in the miles mode. SO, the question. how can i make my spedometer go past 85 when in miles? I saw another 280zx with the non digital dash and the spedometer only goes to 85 so I realize that that's probably why mine only goes to 85. but just like people can buy the 140mph face plate from thezstore.com, is there something i can do to my spedometer to make it go past 85?
