  5. problem was the battery cables, cleaned em up and the car started right up. does MSA sell replacement ones?

My ZX just wouldn't start 2 mornings ago, the volt meter read 14v but everytime I tried to start the car the hand would go to zero and the car would have no power for the next 5-10 seconds. before you know it the lights in the car would turn on again and the volt meter would read 14v again. I could turn on the radio, turn on my headlights, foglights, but when I try to start the car it just goes down to zero and it won't even start to crank. I got the car the run on the second day by jump starting it and then the same symptoms happened so I figured it might be a dead battery from leaving my foglights on but I changed the battery today and the same symptoms occur. so now I don't know what the problem is. ignition? starter? help is greatly appreciated, thanks
  7. what're you guys planning on welding the quarter panel on with? MIG welder? TIG welder? I heard rear quarter panels need to get brazed or something like that, that's why I ask
  8. it's actually not for my Z, it's for a 76 corolla, and I got the engine and trans for really cheap, so i'm trying to make it work and yes, I do agree that it's an odd choice, but when all is done odd turns into unique

  11. so I changed my oil to 10w 30 today and everything seems fine and back to normal. so from reading thru this thread, does that mean i'm leaking oil from somewhere?

I was just about to make a thread, then I saw this one. my 83 is doing the same thing. it was only doing it the first 10 mins after startup, but now the gauge says zero and the light turns on at almost every stop light. it doesn't waver when i'm on the freeway though, or when i'm driving past 35-40mph

  15. I tightened the nut like borini said, but when I turned the wipers on, the passenger side just twitched a little more than usual on the first time then, continued to barely twitch at all. I checked the nut again, and it was loose again as if I didn't tighten it at all
  16. just this morning I turned my windshield wipers on to clear my foggy windshield, and I found that now only the driver's side one works, the passenger side kind of just twitches a little bit. is there a short somewhere? is the wiper motor just worn out? I don't know exactly how the mechanism works, and it's my first time dealing with this kind of problem, any help is appreciated thanks

I would do suspension. tokico blues and tokico springs, you can buy them as a set from betamotorsports. get a cheapy jdm muffler from ebay, buy 2.5 aluminized piping or stainless (but it's extra $$) from your local muffler shop and make yourself a new exhaust system. 8 feet of piping costs about $30-35 from a hole in the wall muffler spot. muffler costs just about the same.
  18. I talked to that guy too, but I can't figure out why he's asking $750 and not trying to thread jack but i've got an L28E with only about 80,000 miles if anyones interested, it's listed in classifieds ($350 obo!) I was trying to do a turbo conversion on it but I have too many projects going on
  19. i've done a little bodywork myself and the door I would say is kind of a "flesh wound". it's really not that bad of a crash on the rear quarter I guess size wise, but just the spot and how it looks is horrible. fires me up everytime I see it. but i'll take photos first thing in the morning, then like said, you guys could probably give me better advice.
  20. got into an accident with some idiot who decided to make a right turn from the left lane and didn't see me right beside him. He crushed the rear quarter panel bad and dented the door a little, is this a hard fix? I see rear quarter panels for sale from victoria british and such but don't know how hard the procedure is to replace mine. I don't know how many ways the repair can be taken, but i'm trying to avoid a body shop hammering it out, putting a generous slab of bondo over it and calling it a day. any suggestions?
  21. so stock L28 internals plus the l28ET goodies should work with 7 psi? as long as I manage my fuel right? which megasquirt kit would be best? and what other megasquirt accessories will be needed?
