  1. that volvo turbo looks a bit small for your application... Look into a T3/t04e hybrid with your choice of 50 or 60 trim compressor wheel
  2. i wish i had those flares on my car... in good shape though haha. I'd pass
  3. i am looking at a pair of HE-351's one has all the electronic goodies on it and the other one doesn't have all of that. Unsure which I should get? can megasquirt or other EMU control the boost controller and other junk on the turbo
  4. yeah i'm watching one right now, talked to the guy he won't end the auction early for an offer (offered him 400) so will just see
  5. "this is a core in need of rebuilding" i want something i can rely on when it arrives
  6. been trying to find a holset hx35 but guys are askin a premium, i see used ones all 500+ bucks
  7. I would say the easiest possible and safest way to get the power you want is to get higher capacity injectors, standalone fuel management, a good size front intercooler, larger turbo, larger fuel pump. That will get you well on your way to a safe 350whp
  8. what do you guys think of a greddy mitsubishi td06sh-20g turbo?
  9. I've researched around and seen lots of guys doing different sized turbos for their projects (i've searched a good amount) I am interested in getting as close to 320-340whp on my setup without having too much lag. Mods will be , 440c injectors FMIC engine management 3" full exhaust and the turbo. running on a 78 280z motor, with 8.3:1 compression on factory dished pistons (N/A motor) its a freshly rebuilt motor. I found some turbos on ebay and wondering which of these should give me a good balance of decent response and chest breaking power (to an extent ) first one is a T3/60-1 .70AR compressor .63AR turbine, .57T compressor wheel. Seems like a good bet for solid power and good response. second one is a T70 .70AR compressor .84AR turbine, .60T compressor wheel. Seems a bit big, but could have some nice power. A bit big ya think? the third one is interesting, another T70 .70AR compressor .84AR turbine, but .49 trim compressor. Would this be a better bet than #2 since it would balance out with a smaller compressor trim but is that a bad thing? finally #4 is a T3/T4 stage IV with O trim turbine wheel .70AR compressor .63AR turbine and .50trim #1 or #4 seems like a good bet... are 2 and 3 too big?
  10. it is an eaton blower, just know it was made for 2002 to 2004 xterra and frontier S/C
  11. i just found out what it is. It is for nissan xterra/frontier factory 2002-2004
  12. I received it in a lot of parts i got with my 280z anyone have an idea what model it is? it has no identifying numbers or anything except a useless bar code . there is no play in the pulley or the blades, spins freely, in good condition. Wondering what it is and if it's worth anything? Thanks
  13. yep the blue is 99cent rattle can blue, $7 paint job just one layer. Wanted to do something quickly just so it wasnt all primer haha. But it will of course be getting a proper paint job once i deal with some little rust issues and get the dent fixed.
  14. needs some body work done but it's a fun car. 280z supercar ftw. Once the bodywork is dealt with it's going turbo it's a project so obviously there is a good bit of work to do. Right now it has l28e stock motor, newly rebuilt with all OEM parts dual electric fans new radiator cold air intake old school nismo headers 5spd 3" exhaust with 18" resonator, stainless tip racing seats with harnesses fuel cell RSTB FSB RSB Tokico Springs KYB strut inserts h4 headlight conversion new steering rack MSD blaster ignition sportmax 002 wheels 16x8 fuzion ZRI 225 50 16
  15. np maybe it's a sign to hold off on parts until I can sell my stuff. Dont want to go broke AGAIN on a car hehe
  16. i will definitely get in touch as soon as i am able to sell something... i am selling a bunch of crap. some guy in NY wants the rims i am selling so if i get those sold more than likely count me in... i will be buying a bigger turbo though
  17. yeah you cant find parts 280zx turbos around here. My last car had an RB20det and the 25 is a better buy , but 20 is a perfectly decent motor, just not the aftermarket support. I love the rb25det neo
  18. how much for just the manifold> I would be buying a larger turbo regardless
  19. more than likely just flat top... I might just go the RB route
  20. i talked to Scott who rebuilt the motor. It's all OEM including headgasket but its recently rebuilt. I wouldn't want to go inside and mess with anything else so if i did the L28e-t then i would just leave internals alone... would just be doing the basics with something like a garrett GT35
  21. well let me know where to find one around GA lol..
  22. i am aware of that..... by complete swap i mean the engine and all associated components. I know there are additional parts that need to be fabricated or altered. I would take it to a shop... i've had shops tell me around 5000 if they supply the engine and that includes tuning and FMIC exhaust everything
  23. I've been looking in the turbo forums at the parts list for making a L28e into an et. Seems like an extensive and expensive list of things that would need to be done. It almost seems more cost effective to get an RB and go for a newer motor. I see complete RB25det swaps bordering under 2000 shipped on ebay and rb20det swaps for a good chunk less. the engine in my car is recently rebuilt but with all OEM components, except i think perhaps a metal head gasket, unsure right now i'll check with the guy that did it. Already have a full 3" exhaust i would mate the downpipe to and i know a lot of folks around here that can help me with wiring. What seems like the smarter idea? It's a 78 btw but that's not too important unless we're comparing it to carbed Z's as its already FI
  24. the guy told me there is some surface rust on the new framerails, but from pics it looks minor. He said otherwise on the seams of the floorpans where they were welded in there is a little rust and there is a quarter size hole behind the drivers seat that would need to be patched up. I can prob snag it for $1500. Does that sound pretty decent? motor, tranny, and diff in good shape and exterior is in good shape.
  25. hey i'm not going to be able to pick up that local V8 Z... at least not for a few weeks if it's still avail.. hit me up if you want the guy's info.
