  1. my Z is confusing me. The guy sold it to me as a 77 but it was a 78 on the title, and the title didn't match the VIN on the car which is in the 240,000 range but the vin on the title is around 424,000 which corresponds to 78... i'm starting to think the car might be a 75 or 76, but is there any way to really tell lol. The rear bumper holes match up to those on my 75Z dunno if the bumper mount changed in 77 78 models . ok i'm thinking i solved my own question it must be a 75-ish.... cause this is Dave's car and it's a later 280Z and notice the bumper mounts (not so many 'slits' in bumper) here are the bumper mount holes on my 280z and they match the holes on my 75 280z i owned before (more 'slits' across bumper) VS old car rear sound right? just irritating and confusing as I need to make sure my registration and insurance are gonna be fine switching to a different VIN code lol (one on body, not title)

  3. i would recommend picking up a holset turbo for your project instead of a generic one that you really know nothing about. Look into the HX35 or Hy35 (he351) as well
  4. yeah I'm not a big fan of the front myself, I just think it's an overall clean car. a lot different than my track car barebones interior lol
  5. Just had to stick it up here. Looks immaculate. I want that interior lol
  6. I was trying to get an idea for the cost of a custom 3" mandrel bent downpipe as I have never heard from anyone what a typical cost would be. (so i could decide to go completely custom or simple buy the dodge one and mate it to the previous exhaust (weld)
  7. I'm trying to debate which will be a better choice.. I currently don't have the turbo elbow. My options are to purchase a turbo elbow, install that, then get a custom downpipe made off that turbo elbow at a shop, or the second choice is to buy the below dodge 4" holset downpipe and simply cut it and shorten it so that it will bolt to my exhaust I already have an exhaust waiting to be welded up to the DP. The below picture is of a downpipe thats $167+shipping which is quite expensive, but buying the holset elbow alone will be around $35+shipping and then a custom downpipe will have to be made after that. Do you guys have any idea how much money a typical 'simple' custom downpipe is? I just don't want to weld a pipe to the holset so these are the options. What do you guys think? this is the cummins downpipe i could shorten i am assuming $~45 + a custom downpipe would cost me less money?
  8. nice! badass car. I'm unsure if I'm going to be able to get my turbo swap done by DNI shootout but if that's the case i'll bring the maxima again. Would be nice to be there with the Z though
  9. have you checked ebay? they pop up every once in a while
  10. Turbo build is coming along nicely. Here's what I have so far Holset He351 turbo with holset turbo elbow. I need to bore out the wastegate and adjust down the actuator hopefully so I can boost 15-17psi without issue RB20det fuel pump, came off my old RB car. I'm hoping it will be good enough. Will wait and see. 3" exhaust, need to mate it up to a downpipe which I need to buy FMIC 32x12x3 (think core is 24 long) 450cc toyota supra turbo injectors from a 7MGTE car (denso) Pallnet fuel rail 1g eclipse turbo blowoff valve. WIll prob weld it to a piece of pipe or something basic as a mount. I'm sure i'm forgetting things. I need to get lines and fittings for the turbo as well as piping for the induction system as well as a downpipe. And of course I need to get megasquirt. Hopefully this can get done within the next coupe of months!
  11. It should be there , hopefully turbocharged by then. Got all the parts except need to get the Megasquirt in and get induction and exhaust piping then ready to roll
  12. Remember seein that car at Reynolds last year, at least I think lol
  13. Yeah they are quite boring, but you don't see any S30s on the road in Atlanta. All the 240sx guys have them though
  14. those are 225 50 16 Had rub but rolled fenders ,no more rub issues
  15. It's from a later 240z and was completely uncracked but the previous owner (my gf's bro) kept it outside in a shed heh. It now has two small cracks on top (quite minor) but the rest is basically perfect. Anyone know what this is worth with just the minor 2 cracks?
  16. honestly i used up all my money getting it to this point.. it still has a bunch of hail damage that would have cost a small fortune to fix haha. The rear i will at some point get it smoothed but more likely just fabricate a 240z rear bumper to fit. Or i don't even know.
  17. i don't know exactly what you mean by rear arch, but the rear passenger side i had a rather large dent repaired
  18. it's R33 skyline (among others) Nissan KN6 dark gray pearl paint. thanks for checking it out. Nissan crew unite!! some blurry ass garage shots. will take more later
