  1. Anyone know how far the RB26DETT throttle bodies are from the head? I know they are a very different animal, but you gotta start somewhere. I may need to look at the setup in the GTR's to get some idea's. Anyone think that this is a waste of time? Would I be better to stick with the original single TB setup that Justin and Ron worked on? I don't know what the USA spec E30 & E36 M3 and E34 M5 BMW's were. But we got the Euro specs which had ITB's. That's what gave me the iddea really.
  2. I am building a custom ITB injection system for my car, building upon Justin Olson and Ron Tyler's previous work. I have a mechanical engineer at work helping me out on this, and will post progress as we go for others opinions. What distance would people recommend from the valve to the throttle plate on an L28. And runner length before and after throttle bodies. Keeping in mind that I want to use the plenum still so that it can use the AFM and even be used for turbo applications, for anyone else who wants to. Thanks, Simon
  3. OMG I'm soo excited right now, I could soil myself. Thank you Thank you Thank you Could you post it as a SLDPRT? Is there an assembly model for the rest of it? You seem to have worked out the best way to shape the plenum, so I think that I'll stick to your proven design.
  4. Thanks very much Ron and Justin. please send a copy to simon.ray@optusnet.com.au or simon.ray@assaabloyasiapacific.com How very exciting:mparty:
  5. WOO HOO That works great for me. Single income, with wife, baby & mortgages keeps the budget VERY tight. However, I have am able to make one for myself. So That makes me very happy. Thanks Justin
  6. My apologies, I got it the wrong way around. Which am I best to put on my 280ZX then? Cast iron or Alloy?
  7. So are people saying that the older heavier cast iron calipers are better than the newer lighter aluminium ones???
  8. Thanks for the clarification Gollum. We would call that a ute (short for utility). A truck is bigger to us. I don't think we got the 620 here, we got the 720. Would it be the same shifter? Maybe, its something I will look into in the future when I drop the box out.
  9. Thanks Gollum, Sounds very interesting to me, but I have a question. I am in Australia, we use different terminology down here. What do you call a truck? Are you refering to a 1980's MQ Patrol? I used to have one, they have an L28 with a 4 speed gearbox. Or a later MK Patrol, which had a 5 speed box. I wouldn't really call them trucks though. I'm not being patronizing, just unsure and after clarification. We get very different cars here. Also you say a pretty short throw.....is it going to be worth the hassle?? Thanks, Simon
  10. More info on these mods?? Pics of re-drilling? Which "truck" are you referring to?
  11. I am interested in this topic also, seems to be all about S30 cars on the internet.
  12. Does anyone know where I can buy some Tokico shocks for my 280ZX (HS130) that will send them down to Melbourne, Australia? Thanks, Simon
  13. A big thank you . I have the ability to measure the head, but I have a 4 month old daughter who requires more attention than my toys do....... I've also changed directions in where I am heading. i am now looking at making ITB's as they look, sound and go better that a single TB.
  14. Is there anybody out there with head dimensions for all ports, studs etc? (I work in metric, but am willing to convert from imperial) And, are they willing to share them with me? Thanks, Simon
  15. Just had my first track day in the car last Sunday. I definately need to build something like this for my car. Needs more power as I was maxed out in 5th half way down the straights as it wouldn't rev any harder. Any help Justin????
  16. Is there any chance that I could get the solidworks model Justin? Looks like I could use your homework to build similar down here in Australia for my HS130. We use solidworks at my work and my boss is going away for 2 weeks, so it makes it more convenient to make it ehile he is gone. Thanks, Simon
