  1. Tis mine. The thread on viczcar should have all the info you need, but PM me any questions. Simon
  2. Thanks guys. Here are some progress pic's, if that helps. All Steel underneath, tack it all on. Then seam weld small sections at opposite ends and wipe over with cool wet cloth straight after welding.
  3. Long time lurker of this thread. Been waiting till paint was finished before posting pics of my Z. Saved from a barn after being hidden for over 7 years. 2 seaters a rare in Australia, apparently only 2 were delivered for Nissan executives. The rest are personal imports, would only be double figures.
  4. The short answer is YES. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,2546.0.html
  5. Jeebus, that looks awsome Need more pics of it mounted
  6. Tinted lenses are looking the go. Just waiting for the exchange rate to be more favourable, then I will by some. I'm in Australia, you can't get them here.
  7. What is your supension like? Maybe save up a bit longer and do it all at once. No good spending money on headers to try and gain more power if you can't go around corners safely.
  8. I'm in the process in looking at getting some lenses for my black S130 and was wondering whether to go clear or tinted. Whats the consenses?
  9. Short answer is no, this car is just for weekend motorsport for me and is on classic historic registration. Which means that it is cheap, but can only be driven on club events, to and fro working on the car and "testing". Big fines if you get caught abusing this system. And anyway, I don't plan on having any accidents at all As you like I found out, there is heaps of work to get it to look good with all the bends and angles. How far down to the bottom edge are you going to take it? Good luck with the rest of it. Don't forget to seam weld ALL of it or it will crack.
  10. Heres a link to my work on my car http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,4025.0.html Hope that helps
  11. I've just finished this on my car. Just waiting for the top coats of paint and she's all done. I can post some pics up tonight when I get home if your interested. Can show you what not and what to do for ideas.
  12. I'm going to drop into a dizzy workshop on the way home from work to see what they can offer.
  13. Non turbo car Would fitting a turbo dizzy be an "upgrade"
  14. What can I do as an upgrade for my stock 280ZX dizzy? I have been told that I can have it recurved and made into a mechanical advance. Is this a worth while thing to do? What advantages will it give me for my money? Thanks, Simon
  15. Guess we won't get to see the finished product or the headers either since Wax has been banned? Shame since he was a contributor, not a lurker like myself.
  16. I have 255/16/45 on the rear of my car. Using 16 x 8 S14 Silvia rims and spacers for correct offset. I have lowered it 40mm wich gives extra room from mad negative camber. I would say 225 would fit the width, but 70 profile seems rather large to me. What is the rolling diameter?
  17. I bought Tokico shock's from John and he sent them down to Australia. No problems, very happy, would recommend him to others.
  18. What values did MONZTER use to caculate? Turbo or NA? Here is what I found with a NA L28 @ 4000rpm. I also modelled up the Q45 throttle body.
  19. Here is what I did on my S130. Now has 300mm x 30mm 4 spots on front. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,2546.0.html All explained. All seems to be about S30's on the web.
  20. Sorry, I meant to ask whether this would show me decent gains, or is a new motor with flat tops etc, the only way to get results. Basically I have intentions in the long run to rebuild a spare L28 as a "hot" motor to keep from car to car.Budget permiting. In the meantime, I would like to do bits and pieces to my current set-up that I can transfer over to the future one. I understand that I must sound a little simple. Trying to do this at work right now and don't want to waste too much time.
  21. My car is on a classic historic registration which means it doesn't get driven much. Mainly to and from club events. Then there is the motorsport, sprinting, hillclimbs and motorkhana's. Which is what its all about really. I would sacrifice city drivability for track speed. I agree. Hence my question about headwork. Will a cam, porting and shaving (to increase compression) be enough? If I was to run 40mm Mikuni's with the largest choke would that be ok?
  22. Is putting triple 40mm Mikuni's or 45mm Weber's going to give me much more power to a stock JDM L28 N42(block) N42(head)? Which would be better? I have been told that it would be a waste of time and money to bolt these on with the motor as is. What do you recommend that I need to do to it? Can I just shave the head and put in a cam with springs and port it? or Do I need to rebuild a motor with flat top pistons and aim for 10:1 compression with cam, springs and porting? Sorry for 20 questions, just want to make sure that I'm heading down the right road. Then I can move on to jetting Thanks, Simon
  23. Is there any difference between n/a and turbo afm's? If so, would it be better to run a turbo one on a n/a car when upgrading throttle body and intake (like Justin Olsons custom design)? Also, who would send one down to Australia? (as we didn't get turbo cars here)
  24. Here is a pic of the flange to bolt on to the head. (courtesy of Justin and Ron in another thread) You can see where the injectors are going. The head will need to be ported as the ID of the runners are 38.1mm (1.5inch). Basically, I want to insert some TB's in between the two flanges in a straight line and run a plenum with piping to the front of the car. Are the butterflies best higher or lower? I understand I may sound a bit vague in what I'm after, but you've got to start somewhere. I'll check www.grapeaperacing.com when I get home later. Thanks
