  1. Yeah I was talking about the engine harness. I have been told that there are differences between the 76 and 77 harnesses. any ideas??
  2. I pulled a wiring harness out a '77 automatic to go in my '76. Can I make this wiring harness work or will I have to sell it to get one from a '75 or 76? So far I have no signal to the fuel pump, the starter will actuate as well. Does anyone have a solution that I can do so I can get this car started and on the road? I thought of other options such as Megasquirt but I have never tried to use this system. I would rather use the factory system (for monetary reasons) but I would like to hear and see some Zs that you guys used the system on. Thanks!
  3. I wish it did. I have had it for the past 7 years and I have had wiring problems ever since the engine rebuild and before. When I got it it had a rat nest on top of the motor directly on top of the injector loom and fuel rail. The wiring was wired incorrectly and I was trying to repair it until I gave up and then bought a wiring harness from a '77. Getting this car running will be a pinnacle of my young life (at this time anyways). If I can get this car to burn fuel in the combustion chamber one way or another I will be extremely happy. I don't mean to write you a novel but this car is so important to me. everyone in my family is looking at me and this car as a failure that will never go anywhere. Could this harness be why I am not getting signal to the fuel pump? That is my current no start problem at this time. Do i need to get a '75 or '76 wiring harness?
  4. since I have the '77 harness, would I have to re-pin the AFM or would I have to get a AFM from a '77?
  5. I almost forgot, I got my harness out of a '77, is that the same also?
  6. *bump* any ideas? I cant seem to find this in my diagrams. Ill look again but I have a feeling i am looking at the wrong diagram. The Z was built 10/75 and I have a diagram for a 1976, is that right?
  7. the wires are both black and have ground. it looks like it is supposed to have a wire loom section that changes it to the compatible plug for the Auxiliary Air Regulator.
  8. I forgot who's engine bay pic i took but it show a quick and clear method to find out what this part is. I think it is the Idle Air Control valve but I am unsure. On the wire loom there is a pair of male and female connectors; how do these wires interface with this device or can they just be plugged into it either way?
  9. Agreed, I would like to see how this project progresses. I could imagine how quick that car would be and how it would sound with some tuned exhaust on it!
  10. check out an RV shop, they got a ridiculous selection of hoses.
  11. I feel this is what Zs are all about- endless creativity! I like it! would I personally do it to my Z- no I wouldn't. would I do something else creative- Hell yes I would!!
  12. I am not big into it personally bit It is rather creative!!!
  13. any news on the build? just curious, I cant wait too see progress!!
  14. DUDE!! I would love to see this project happen! I wanted to do this for my S30 as well. Ill probably get a 4V and install it in my mustang and then when I get my terminator 4V ill install the 4v from the stang into the S30! Exemplary project! keep the pics coming!
  15. oops! that was an assumption on my part. Oh well, it wouldn't even get close to that speed.
  16. the digital part goes up to 999 the graphical part goes up to 85.
  17. As far as I understand, any of the I6 engines from '70-83 should bolt in and I believe all of the 280s will work with no major issues.
  18. you look at the old 80s GM commercials i think it was their purpose. I think it is awesome! I wish they wouldn't have stopped making them
  19. I love this one, its almost the same color as mine but the fender flares are radical!!
  20. yeah I know what you guys mean. It isnt the greatest looking, however I did find a better one. the late 80s Mazda 323 GT dash. I would like to mod it a bit but I think i like it a bit better than the corvette dash. do you guys have an example of those HUD systems?
  21. I am thinking about using this cluster. However I seriously do love my current one, but if i end up totally modding my 280 I will go all the way. I think it is one of the coolest dash setups ever, and if I was going to use it I could build a custom dash to wrap around it.
