yes any 5 speed will work for sure, i have gone through 3 of them from constant abuse. they came out of a 80, 81, and the stock trans in my car was 79. non of which were the t5 as the turbo motor came out of an automatic. just dont get real power shift happy and youll be fine. literally abusing mine every day any time the car is rolling i get a solid year out of each one. best $300 i ever spent (price of the turbo 2+2 i stripped to make my car, it was in a junk yard)

i also daily drive my 79 turbo swapped zx. not by choice but because i wrecked my daily driver. i have to say the car is anything but ideal this time of year in ohio. i hate driving it in the salt and snow and even with a new blower motor the heat is anything but stellar. the car is so much fun to drive... just not in cold temps. stick with the econo box and dont worry about another 300,000 miles because the car isnt worth anything anyway.

what color iterior??? i need the a-pillar covers and all the trunk side moldings. i need the center top dash vents if they are in good shape. let me know how all of this stuff looks

nope i know the heater core is good because i just replaced last week. i went through three different cores from parts cores from parts cars before i finally just yanked the one out of my dads car. his is on blocks totally stripped any way so he wont be needing it for a while.

so i wake up an hour early this morning to go out and clean off the car and warm it up before heading to class, everything is going according to plan. i jump in the car and start heading to school in the -8 below temps and half way to school i notice the z is running a little warmer than usual. i think this is odd as it is soooo cold outside, but i continue on. then a little while later i notice it is 3/4 of the way to 270 mark on the temp gauge. i pull it into the gas station and shut it down. i popped the hood, felt the radiator and its hot, as well as the upper radiator house so i know the thermostat is working. the belt isnt slipping on the water pump so im left with assuming its the pump itself. it never fails, i just got the car in daily driving condition and this happens. i guess it wasnt daily ready just yet.

yea but the girl friend comes in handy at night time... no matter what she costs you during the day, if she is a great girl its totally worth the material investment. mine doesnt cost me much to maintian, has never left me stranded and gets my mind off my car when i need to relax. probably a better investment than my car, im certain of it.

It wont make any difference as long as it is still unleaded, but your just throwing your money away. The compression on these motors is so low that regular 87 octane is more than enough to keep it from detonating. The only reason to use higher octane is for higher compression, either a lot of boost or really high comp. pistons. Save your money good sir. Unless you are detonating on 93 octane there is no reason to run 100 octane.

Honestly go with an XD... more accuratly go with an XDM 40. The guns are amazing.They come stock with a match grade barrel, can be put through total toruture and still function flawlessly. I currently have an XD 45acp in the tactical length and it is one of the most dead on accurate hand guns I have ever fired right from the factory. For my ccw I carry an XD 40 sub compact. It handles nine in the magazine and one in the chamber... more than enough to protect yourself, but if you want more it has an extended magazine that holds 12 rounds. Now the XDM 40 holds way more and is way more accurate than my sub compact due to the longer match grade barrel. The guns are amazing, just not very well known yet so not nearly as trusted as a berreta or glock. However they perform better from my experience than either of the other two previously mentioned options.

I have never gone to any meetings, but about two and a half years ago I went through a really bad slump and used alcohol on an hourly basis to deal with it. I worked 6 days a week and spent every penny on my habbit. I would drink when I woke up, in the shower, bring a flask with me to work, and usually kill more than a case a night. My brother finally sat me down and talked to me about what I was doing... and how he had gone through the same thing in college. It convinced me to change my life. I had to remember back to what made me happy before I started drinking and start doing those things again. I had to change all of my friends, and where I hung out. Two years later and I finally have my life back under control, I have a really good job, doing much better in school and only socially drink a couple days a month. Probably the hardest time of my life but with the support of my family I made it through it.

i just recieved my set of 962's in the mail today. they are just like Guy's only in gun metal. excellent rims and actually pretty light for 18's. i love the staggered look and these were the best looking rims i have found with that nice big lip in the rear and 5 spoke design. plus the price was unbeatable.

beautiful engine bay and a very nice right hand drive 280zx. i actually have only seen pics of two others. must be a blast to drive. and yes an ls1 in these cars seems like the best choice. this is what i plan on doing only with a 5.3l baby ls1 and a t76 turbo to pull the power out of it. if you dont mind me asking how strong is the v6 with turbo? i take it this is a track car, have any problems with reliability?

Yeah the dummy lights coming on and it suddenly over heating sounds like you lost an alternator belt. This belt also runs the water pump. This just happened to me earlier in the week. From the time I lost the belt to the time I shut the car off was maybe a minute and it was almost over heating on the gauge. With no water circulating it doesnt take long. As far as the clutch goes, it may not be related at all and just bad luck/timing. Open the hood and make sure you still have an alternator belt, if you do, i dont know what to tell you.

those disapearing doors are pretty smooth, but imagine getting in and out of that car in heavy rain. the passenger compartment would become a swimming pool, and that car sits pretty high to allow the doors to roll underneath it. cool idea though, just not very practical. i agree with everything stated already, just because you CAN do something, doesnt mean you SHOULD do it. yeah i could swap a yugo motor into my 280, but should i... probably not. will it make you different, yeah probably a little but its alot like painting your car in a rainbow paint scheme, probably not going to assosciate your car with a group of individuals that you want to be connected with... i.e. ricers.

EVERYTHING was swapped that is in the engine bay including the motor. like i said i have never opened up so it might be a ring problem or valve problem but i was just looking here for some input, something i maybe over looked.

spark plugs cap rotor and alot of sensors have been replaced. is the fuel pump different between the turbo and n/a motor set up? im not sure if that was changed i will have to ask my dad. thanks for the input. i never even thought about the fuel pump or regulator as it pulls fine in the upper rpm's. i know for a fact that all of the vaccume lines are set up right. me and my dad spent 2 days with the manual and routing the lines. i think i will just drive it as it is if the injectors dont fix it, i have a 5.3 and t-56 trans to swap into i just wanted to wait to do the swap so i could slowly accumulate parts but it looks like i might have to bump this up on my list.

it is a complete swap from an 82 zxt, everything got swapped from the ecu, wiring harness, everything, i am using the stock non turbo trans and rear end until it blows. but other than the trans and diff everything on the car is directly swapped from the turbo car, even the cruise and turn signal/head light switches got changed so they were direct plug and play with the new ecm.

the car has been really wierd since we finished the swap. at about 3k rpm the turbo is spooled and everything is good but it chugs really bad drops power really bad. if you floor it it will pull slowly to 4k and once you get to 4k it runs fine again. its like it is being starved of fuel. i just ordered new fuel injectors, they are stock 270cc injectors and im hoping this fixes it. any ideas. im running a compression check on it this weekend. this motor has never been opened up by me or my dad, we just through it in and it ran so i have been driving it just enjoying the car. i replaced the o2 sensor last week. any help is greatly appreciated

me and my dad have gone through 5, 1982 parts car (so rusted it buckled in half) 1981 parts car so rusted the rear subframe wasnt held on fully optioned 83 minus turbo (the car my dad is restoring and putting an lt1 in) my mint 79 with the turbo swap 83 turbo parts car we picked up both the 81 and 82 for 150 bucks and we got the turbo car for 200. it ran fine but the interior was compleltly trashed/gone. so my family has done our fair share of destroying and bringing life back to the Z community

i orderd mine less than 24 hours ago and they were still buy one get one free... unless something changed in the last 24 hours you can still get the deal. just follow various links to get to the page. i got mine free shipping which was offered by them as well. mine will be here tomorrow so i will post pics of how i mount them direcetly to the floor boards to save head room. i already did an install of z31 seats in a 280 that sat completly on the floor for my dads 280zx. he is tall so he needed all the head room he could get. the seats put the window frame at my shoulder. they are mounted LOW. sliders are still fully functional and everything. its hard for me at 5'10" to see over the nose car his are mounted so low. i love the way his car feels when you sit in the seats so mine will be just like that. fabrication is the whole name of the game. by replacing the floor boards with flat sheets of steel you can lower the seats a full two to three inches which is worlds of difference on head room. its alot of work supporting everything but the end product on a s130 is amazing. ill post pics after im finished.
