Did you have to do any type of fab work to get those seats to fit?

There is no way that you can get the whole swap done by a shop for 10 grand. The shop up here would charge around 18 for the whole thing. Your best bet is to do it yourself but with your budget its still tight. McKinney Motor sports sells all the stuff you need to do it with limited mechanical knowledge. Check out their website and do some adding and see if you can do it on that budget and if you can't then maybe step down to an rb25.

I actually have the same problem as you. After adjusting the valve clearances the problem still persists. Next i am going to check the valve spring and make sure its not shot. My uncle said that is probably the problem. Hope that helps.

Well if he makes 300 hp with those mods then i have 300 hp too.

When the engine is actually in the car it will be mighty difficult to get the exhaust manifold off with the intake still on.

The stereo it came with...it slumps lol.

Well it officially runs! after a couple hours of tinkering, some new radiator hoses, an electric fuel pump and jet style toggle switch its ALIVE!!! it idles good right at 800 or so and it smokes, as expected. Cleaned vacuumed out the interior installed the fluffy pimp seat covers, a bottle of armor all and the thing looks like a new car! and no it is not a hand throttle it is actually a cruise control, its after-market.

Well my moms mechanic saw mine and had a friend who said that he might get rid of his and he ended up selling it to me for redonculously cheap. I ended up actually not looking at it for three months cuz i figured for 500 it was going to be a piece of crap.....then i thought what the hell ill check it out and i called the man. the car had been sitting in different storage garages for the last 15 years. drained the oil, not too bad, hooked up a battery and checked everything else. brakes work clutch works tranny shifts every light inside and out works except for one brake light. we got it to run for about 45 seconds by itself after some tinkering but we think that the mechanical fuel pump is done for. we ghetto rigged an electric pump to it and got some fuel flowing but it hasnt been able to run again since the first moment of ecstasy when we were all jumping around doing the i love this car dance.

I wouldn't know it doesn't have any...

Hey, i just got this z today, it is a 71 with a L24 completely complete lol. its got all the old smog equipment and the interior, The stock stereo works, OH SHYT AND IT HAS CRUISE CONTROL!!! Oh and it came with an extra complete motor tranny drive shaft diff, dash (with gages wiring etc), hood, hatch, door, a separate complete su assembly with intake manifold like new, brand new oem leather seat covers (black), Fluffy furry black seat covers from the 70's (pimp status), 2 extra seats and a partridge in a pear treeeeeee!!! interior pics soon.. So? what do you thing?

McKinney Mororsports can do the wiring for you. They're in so cal but you can send in the harnesses and they'll get it all ready for you. All that you'll have to do is hook it up and wire the ignition

I have a 390 on my car and my uncle told me that odds are i wouldn't be able to open up the vacuum secondary unless i swap out the spring that controls it. I believe the color spring you want is purple or pink but don't quote me on that.

I've got a few carb setups too if you decide to go that way. When you get the engine we can discuss it if you want.

I have a 72 240z that was made in September(9/72) and it had an electric fuel pump on it that is powered by a splice in the engine bay and ran down the tranny tunnel to the pump. my question is did my 240z come from the factory with an electric fuel pump? there is a black and green wire that are wrapped together with the two wires that connect to the gas tank to tell you the fuel level and i was wondering if they were for a fuel pump or something else(they aren't hooked up to anything). i remember reading somewhere when they switched from mechanical pumps to electric but i cant find again. thanks in advance for the help.

I'm curious about the San Jose p&p because it seems like there is a lot of Datsun's there. that could mean there is either a lot there or none because people pick them clean...guess the only way to find out is to check it out some time. thanks a bunch for the info and keep it coming if you go somewhere else or a new one comes into your local one.

what pick and pulls have you gone to and had good luck with? i went to the fairfield p&p and there was only one 280z. i was hoping to find the best one or the one that has people have had the best luck with without having to drive to all of them. any input would be awesome. thanks in advance

the car hasnt actually been run since i put on the cable for the throttle i just hooked it up so i didnt lose anything. the car prolly was an auto. nothing is stock on this car so it wouldnt surprise me.
