yeah, that's IF you're dealing with a bank and not the motor corporation who's office is in BFE, or wherever it is. Of course the bank where you originally got the loan will be much easier... I had pre qual financing from a bank in hand, so the motor company had to meet or beat it if they wanted the deal... guess I should've gone with the bank instead... oh well, live and learn.

I had to go through this headache with my Toyota Tacoma I sold... I wanted to sell the car, had the buyer lined up and everything... In order to get the title in hand, I needed to pay the full amount left on the loan and wait for them to send it to me. The buyer was cool enough to front the money after we wrote a contract out, but it took forever (like 6-7 weeks) and he backed out. I actually sold it to another buyer for more money and had to pay off the first for the upfront money to get the title. So... it's a BIG headache. If it's through a bank, I'm sure it'll be much easier since you can go to the bank and talk to someone in person. No such luck with the dealer financing.

Where'd the $40k go? I've got some land in the middle of the AZ desert that I should try to sell him.

You could try MasterSeries Coatings... They're originally designed to prevent and stop rust on steel bridges. Self-leveling and can even be brushed or rollered on... I've only heard and seen good things. Check it... http://www.nomorerust.com/

When I said drive and work on it at the same time, it's not crucial to do that. I do have another car to get me to work and back. It was just a thought that I'd be nice to drive and work on it on weekends until I undertake the big projects. then again, it's the small projects that tend to turn into big ones, huh? haha

Here's the deal... guy's selling this 240z and I talked him down to $2000. He said he cut out and replaced the ledge on the back hatch due to rust.... the guy's tack welded some floor pans in as a temporary fix but says he's sanded the rust off and primered over it before tacking in the sheet metal. I've already figured I'd have to replace the floor pans. The interior is sparse, but he says he has all the panels and a new driver's side window. I still need to check the frame rails underneath. I hope to drive as is and making some improvements then doing an engine swap to the 280zxt with the usual upgrades. The sketchy part is it's recently been given a sweet cheap paint job (note the overspray on the radiator). Red Flag? Wanting to just get more money cause it looks decent? Here you go...
