Do this unplug the alternator plug and see what happens. When I had my rb I was having a problem with the alternator field. I had to supply a switched 12v from the IGN switch and bypass the stock z wiring to the alternator.

Zreddy, I got one. Pm me your address and I'll mail it to you.

If I remember correctly you have to cut out the tunnel a bit(1inch back) just cut it back and weld it to the front. And yes I think you need the 280z driveshaft.
-
I might have a plug for you on my block that I use for building my pans. When I get home I'll check if it's still there. If it is I'll mail it to you.

I'll have some for you shortly.I'm upgrading. Make me a offer

I only have the passenger side 300zx 4 bolt axle assembly for 50 + shipping. It is complete and boots are in good shape.
Ok I'll take it if I can find a left axle.
Looking for a left axle for a z31 turbo. I have cash waiting.
On a side note please only post or pm me on this thread if your interested in selling the axles you have. Please DO NOT pm me or post on thread about having axles for sale and don't reply to pm's or emails. I find it a huge waste of time and energy for you and more importantly me. This has happened twice so far. This is the only forum that I have seen people wanting to sell stuff and flake. I've seen buyers flake but not sellers so this is new to me.I have money to spend.

ok so i have an 81 zx has anyone tried this concept with the type of car i have, or would i need to completely pull something out of my ass for it to work?
You would have to get a custom oil pan built. The mid sump on the 1jz/2jz will hit the subframe.

Are you talking about the JDM 2jz? it comes with the 440cc injectors. And no you wont go lean with a front mount and exhaust.

Still looking for z31 turbo axles. I have PayPal waiting.

still looking for some z31 turbo 4 bolt axles

I have the AZC 4 piston wilwoods 12.2 inch rotors on all 4 corners and those brakes are awesome. I think that the 6 piston would be a overkill for the street, Infact the wilwoods I have is a overkill for the street.

Man do what you can afford. If your going to run stock boost or 2-3 lbs over the stock intercooler will work just fine. I have run 2 different sizes 24x12x3 and 31x12x4 which is a over kill lol. Both cost me less than 150.00 shipped off ebay from "Just Intercoolers"
Both were very good looking intercoolers and built nice. The 24x12x3 fit easier the 31x12x4 took a bit of fabbing to make it fit.
Do what you can afford.Going broke doing a FUN project sucks.

Nice, Pat! I might have you make another pan for me one of these days. You've come a long ways since you built mine. It serves its purpose quite well, but dang those new ones are perrrtty!!!
Thanks Linluv84, Let me know I'll give you a hell of a discount for buying another. They have come along way and they are pretty

One thing about the US 2JZGTE - it was MAF based. Unless you have some way to modify ECU signals MAF is usually better but the 2JZ MAF is pretty restrictive so most dump it ASAP anyway. I want to say the JDM 2JZ used MAP but I'm not 100% sure. The Supra did use a MAP sensor for boost cut, easily bypassed if memory serves. Given a choice go with a standalone
You are correct the JDM 2jz is map base system also.
Well I think my ecu is taking a dump so I'm think about going to go with AEM EMS v2.

I have a pair of 280 ZXT axles you can have for $100 - I'm in Marietta, GA...
I'm interested, Pm sent

Wow,That's pretty high. I can get a set of axles local rebuilt for 70.00 each plus a 35.00 core each.
That's 210.00 a set plus tax with a warranty.

I am.
Well with that said you should know what your doing but in my motor and my wallet I'm going to want my tune a little on the rich side(11.0-11.2), Just for the unexpected. Now if I was chasing every little horsepower and lived in a perfect world it would be different .

Nobody answered my question. Are both you guys tuners?
I'm not but I did stay at a Holiday Inn last night. Lol

Either 280zx cv axles
Or
300zx turbo 4 bolt axles
I haven't bought the adapters yet so I'm looking for either of them.
Thanks

Not too many differences in them really so paying a ton is silly. chances are you're going to swap the turbo and injectors anyway and maybe the cams so nothing wrong with the JDM piece IMO.
I would have to agree with him. Not much difference.

Goodluck. Those pans are hard to find. I have building the rear sump oil pans needed for the RB swap for a couple years now. Check out my thread below. There is a pic of the 280zx rb25 pan on the last page of this link.
