  1. To All: Cjc here, Had some login issues and with the help of John Coffey was able to create a new one...took some time but back! I have created a registration database, standard logos (quarter emblems and front fender emblems) and allow for customization in the registering. I'll release the beta mode aometime this month. Sorry for the delay....I'm sending the quarter emblem to be posted here for review/comment. You'll notice it's placed on a black backdrop. There is a stainless steel backing mesh that's not on the emblem yet. Should be there shortly...the emblems will mount up where the oem quarter emblems go without modification. Look for a post to follow with that image...
  2. I have a completed prototype of one option. I can't seem to upload the image, send email address for pic and perhaps one of you can upload?
  3. If its a v8 conversion i believe it should...is six-seven bucks, give it a shot and let us know.
  4. I did a mustang II steering rack install in my 260z 2+2. If your interested I can post pics, dimensions, etc...
  5. You probably overpaid for the speedo cable. Check this thread, autozone has the proper speedo cable for about 6 to ten dollars depending on location...http://forums.hybridz.org/index.php/topic/107874-speedo-cable-for-th350-trans/page__pid__1013165#entry1013165
  6. Look up Kool Mat out of mooresville nc. Kool mat blocks up 26 decibels of sound and 2000 degrees. It's a silicone and fiberglass like dry flexible material used primarily by NASCAR. That gray flooring material in the race cars....I guarantee you won't find a better sound deadner or heat resistant material. Kool mat is being used in military humvees and buildings in Mideast. I had a kit made for the 260z 2+2 so others can order quickly. It's a thousand times better than lizzard skin and deadens sound better than any other product out there....I have the others in my H2 and they pale in comparison to Kool mAt. If you call, ask for pat and tell her Charles sent you and that your a member of hybridz, you'll get a discount. I've already got my kit so I receive no financial benefit in sending anyone to koolmat. Outstanding stuff. I did take a welder to a piece of Kool mat and metal at same temp setting and had cut through the metal first....it works. Disclosure, I have absolutely zero interest in Kool MAt financially or otherwise.
  7. Not dead at all, have machinist on several customizations that took precedence. Will update within weeks!
  8. Goth, check this site out it will help: http://www.chevymania.com/tech/speedo.htm
  9. Okay, this is more of a clearance issue. I had that same issue and the solution was a different set if shorty headers that allowed for the plug clearance. I only have mine ceramic coated and don't have the plug issue anymore. I don't recall specifics, it's been some time since I addressed the issue but I will pull the invoices soon and post detail. While I don't recall the detail I do recall the fact both header sets were shorty headers (the one created the problem and the set that fixed the problem). You could try racing plugs, they are much shorter than standard plugs?
  10. The ceramic coating reduced heat in the engine compartment of each by no less than 30 degrees (yes I tested and measured temps) and in the case of the zcar substantially more. The key is a credible/reputable coating company. You want a 4 mil thick application and the. black coating seems to cool after running the quickest. Just my two cents...
  11. Mike are your headers ceramic coated? (professionally). Calico coatings in Denver NC (no affiliation or financial interest in calico) accepts shipments and does great work. I've had my zcar headers ceramic coated silver, my camaro z28 (1978) ceramic coated black, my GTO black, and the SCARAB silver.
  12. And from directly over top looking down on the headers....
  13. Can you get a better pic of the headers? From this pic it's difficult to tell...perhaps from under the vehicle?
  14. After looking at them more I have to agree, that width lip may look hideous on a zcar.
  15. I have read various threads on rim fitment and it appears it's best to address the specific rim targeted. I am interested in the square G6 rim found here: SQUARE Wheels G6 Model - 17x9 +15 4x114.3 (set of 4). http://www.enjukuracing.com/products/SQUARE-Wheels-G6-Model-%252d-17x9-%252b15-4x114.3-%28set-of-4%29.html Any suggestions/opinions with regard to fitment and requirements to get these on a 74 260z? The car has not been lowered.
  16. No problem and if anyone is in a location where you can't find the cable autozone here claims they can cross reference the part number to other locations. Send your zip and city if you have problems and I'll get the part number for you, no sweat!
  17. Is the cobra Daytona replica stilll for sale?
  18. Email sent joe. Mike, got your email and sent you pics as well...
  19. Joe, Can you send me an email address and I'll send you some pics and price etc. I am in NC...
  20. Autozone has a 71 inch and an 86 I believe but don't quote me. I know they have multiple lengths so if distance is the concern you'll be fine, I had plenty left. I'd get the autozone version, they take them back if they break in a year. Yes only six or seven bucks but every dollar counts on these cars....and the autozone cable has been the best and I've had the 80 dollar versions...
  21. I have front and rear bumper including a chromed counter weight for the back bumper and a dash from a 260z I don't need. Let me know if your interested. The dash has no cracks and is in great condition. The bumpers are in good condition and I have what new rubber was available for them at the time (2005). I can send picsif your interested.
  22. Just an FYI -- I have a 383 Stroker V8 and an automatic Th350 transmission in a 260z 2+2. I've found the "pioneer inc automotive products" part number CA-3004 speedo at autozone for $6.98 to have both screw on metal fittings on each end that mate perfectly to the stock z speedo and the th350 transmission with metal ends and no breakaway plastic. I noticed this same cable via JTR at 80 dollars.
  23. If you still need one I have one in great shape from a 260z. Email me if your still looking.
  24. Update: going with chrime plated billet aluminum so top shelf stuff and will share the cad designs next week. I am planning on producing 20 sets on the first run. I can do other finishes so if your interested and want another finish let me know and it's first come first serve obviously on the first run. I have preorders for about eight or nine sets and a restoration company calling about exclusivity. I won't do exclusivity and will make sure the dealer gives all of you the same price im charged.....will be back with cad drawings soon!
  25. To all: Disclosure: I am not a broker, dealer, distributor, salesman, or in any way connected to the product/company listed below. I recently located a company that supplies a fiberglass and silicone based custom fit heat shield (blocks 2,000 degrees) and 23 decibels. I provided access to my interior gutted 260z 2+2 and they hVe made a template for the entire interior. They have many templates for others but not the zcars. Their primary clients are NASCAR, vettes, jags, and other exotics. This stuff is amazing, I rode in a vette that had this material and one with dynamat, absolutely no comparison. I will post details and pics as the product goes in with the companies contact information/order information. Its 12/square foot but they said they will offer members of hybrid z a discount. As they form te kit I'll keep you posted. Since I have a 2+2 it would be useful if anyone has a 240 and 280 with the interior gutted (in rennovation stage) with dash out to allow a template to be made. More to follow but if your trying to kill sound this does an incredible job. If your familiar with the material used by NASCAR on the under carriage in the tranny tunnels they make it too but it's a little pricey. They are making the template but I am not sure if it's necessary.
