  1. I used to break the stock trannies and the R180 diffs all the time back in the 80s. But then it was only 5000 yen ($50) to replace them from the junkyard in Okinawa. They didn't like continual clutch drops and will go sooner or later after continual abuse.
  2. Yes sir! There are a few on the MY PROJECTS page. Itll be awhile till I start restoring it and ofcoarse I have to come up with the ideas of what I want to do to it etc....whew! Terry

  9. Thanks John!! I think I have everything under control now!. Its gonna cost me a little but will be worth it I think. Ill have about 17K tied up in it by the time I get it home. Will make a nice daily driver. All I have to do on an L28 is buy the front sump pick up and bolt it in and get a machine shop to relocate my oil stick forward about 8 inches and Im done. Hakosukas have the oil pan reversed to clear the steering crap. Whew! Terry
  10. Anyone living near San Pedro, CA? I have to ship my Hakosuka commercially (DAMMIT). Need a customs broker to clear customs on the US side and freight forward to Texas. Anyone know of a good company that can do this? I contacted a couple but thought maybe someone knew someone in the area that may be able to help.... Terry

  15. Hey to each his own but they are way too expensive for my taste....
  16. Thanks 1QZ. I have the L20 in my Hakosuka so the distributor will only fall into place one way and doesnt seem to be close to where the old rotor was pointing. As long as its TDC (assuming the damper has the little half moon cutouts pointing down at 6PM) I would just start plug #1 where the rotor is pointing. I probably confused everyone but CHEVY is so much easier.... Terry
  17. John, question, when installing the Mallory I set the engine to top dead center and the rotor on the old dist points to the number one plug wire on the cap. I take out the dist and put in the Mallory. No way to put in wrong so in it goes. The problem is the rotor on the Mallory points a totally different direction. Do I put the number one plug wire on the cap where the rotor is pointing now? I am confused. Since there is no gear drive its different than doing on a V8. PLease advise... Terry
  18. Good stuff, especially the rules. I now have food for thought as this IS labor intensive for sure!
  19. Very nice TErry, is there anything you dont do yourself? Terry
  20. Thanks for the kind words but I am just trying to help the Hybrid community a little. I dont want to start any chaos or ill deals etc. Also to note the price on the auction does not include shipping to me. This price is minimal usually. I had 4 rims and tires sent here for about $25. A diff from Hokkaido for $20. So this is not bad. There is an additional cost for the shipment from me to you. There is also the PayPal markup. So this may or may not be a good deal for some. I would also need something for my time and the wife having to make deposits and payments to the vendors via her Japanese bank account. I thonk 5% is fair as I am not in this for huge profits but also dont want it to get out of hand. Any ways just wanted to get that all out. I am sure we can all work things out as they happen. I cant ship large items so keep em under 70 pounds and 108 inches length plus girth and all is well. This is addicting by the way....I just spent about 700 bones just this weekend...dammit!!! By the way I would think that if anyone wants to consider me helping them with anything, please PM me. Im sure the Mods wouldn't want this to clog up the main boards with details etc. Happy surfing... Terry
  21. I am here till June 2010, I extended since I got a promotion. The auctions drive me crazy...lol. Terry
  22. Yasin, I guess all I can say is if you find it and want me to bid on it, give me your max bid and we can see what happens. As long as I get the money to pay for the stuff it can sit here forever till the shipping money is recieved. I cant afford to take chances though so if the money is ready I am, you will just need to find what you want me to bid on via these links and I will try to help. Im sure rims can be mailed via USPS. Terry
  23. Sorry these went for 10250 yen. The guy only wanted 3000 yen...Man I bet he was happy!!! lol. Terry
