maichor do you have the LS1 on the road? It looks like you have a very big project on your hands with that hole car.

I started making some brakets to mount my alternator in about the same place you have yours. The only problem that I found was that I had to take off the pladtic cover on the back of the alternator. Does that mount move the alternator out and towards the radiator? Thanks for the info.

Guy I will look up the part # and post it for you.

My Wife stoped by Sanderson and picked up some headers to test fit. The 13/4 sanderson driver side fits good but not the pass side. But the other headers from the other box will fit the pass side very good, but it is a 15/8 header. I am going to buy the same kind for the pass side but in 13/4. Take a look.

My mounts are nothing like the ones that everyone else makes. The nice part about it is that you do not have to put in a new x-member. They look just like the JTR mounts and they bolt right to the factory X-member. I will post pics up on them in a few days.

You can just run a 6 an hose to the fuel rail. All you need is a quick disconnect to 6an adapter.

I am going to mount the alternator on the top pass side.
The only thing that I had to do to miss the steering gear was to rotate the ex flange some.
I took off the ac last night on the motor, I never had AC so it is ok.
Phantom I am going to just spend the $550 for the LS1edit so I can change anything that I want on the ecu at anytime. Down the road I want to put on heads and cam, so I will need the program for the dyno.
Headers, I will find out tonight if the fit.

I made the mounts for the swap. Took about 3 hours to make. The end of my transmission ended up in the same place as my LT1 engine/trans with the JTR mounts.

80lt1 I know I only had the LT1 in my car for 9 months. I love the LT1 but I think that I could make more power with the LS1.
I just put on the factory manifolds on and they fit, but I am going to try a set of Sanderson headers on Monday. If the Sandersons do not fit then I will go back to the factory manifolds.

I have to buy LS1edit for $550, I wish Tunercat made one.

I will have the swap done sometime in March. I am going to start on the wiring next week.

$5200 is to high I would not pay more than 4-4500 for a LS1/T56 motor.
-
Today I put the LS1 in and mounted the motor and trans. So far it looks like a easy swap.
-
I pulled my LT1 out today and put it right next to my LS1, and it makes the LT1 look very small. I did not know that there was this much dif between the two motors. I am going to test fit the LS1 on Sunday.

I do not have any flow sheets but I know that ls1 guy go with 1 5/8 for an upgrade over stock and 1 3/4 when they use cam and heads. The 1 1/2 will not flow more than the stock headers and they might cost a few Hp at the high RPM's. Look over at http://www.ls1tech.com for more info.

Tim I have a NOs wet blate that fits bolts behind the TB if you want to put NOS on. I will try to post a PIC.

The headers are too small for the LS1, I found out today that they are only 1.5". I spoke to Sanderson headers today and they have the block hugger in 1 5/8 and 1 3/4. I will try these if they do not fit then I will just take my car to sanderson and have them make me a set. It seems like a waist to put in such a nice motor and then kill some of the power.

Phantom can you find out on the headers about the size. 11/2 primaries might be ok for a stock LS1 but down the road I want to go with ported ls6 heads and a larger cam.
Thanks

Washington State I just got back from there, bad snow storm.
On my Lt1 I took of all of the smog parts and then I put in a new program in the ecu. No problems yet.

Dan I donot know why he would say that he cannot ship the headers. Offroad parts are shipped all of the time to CA. I have a friend in Reno that I could have it mailed to. Dan are you thinking about a LS1?

That is good info, I like the fact that I can buy just the engine mounts and headers. I thought that he would only sale the hole kit. I might use his mounts and headers for my LS1 swap. Does anyone know what size headers they are? 15/8 13/4 ??

I want to have my LS1 running in 4-5 months, I think that I will go with some ported ls6 heads over the AFR's. They flow over 300cfm ported.
-
I have 202/160 valves in my heads but I am sure that you could go larger. I had 208/165 in my Darts on my 383.

Bob where did you buy the X-pipe?
