  1. Yes CV adapters, I got on the car hard off the line many times without any problems. I also put on some 235/60/15 drag radials. I need to learn how to program the 4l60e shift points now. Mike
  2. Tim your car is looking good. So a few more weeks before it is on the road? The R230 cv mounts that I got from you are working out just fine. flibuoy I use the stock Corvette lt1 lower hose. Mike
  3. Mudge do you have a link for the Hypertech files? One problem at looking at other files is that they are set up for 3.73 gears. Lonestar from what I can find, it looks like the Lt1 only uses mph to shift and not RPM. I tokk the rpm's up to 6000 to see if that would help. The program does ask for what gears you have, I wish they would program the trans table from the change in gears. Mike
  4. I need some help on my 4l60e trans using Tunercat. I am having problems with the car hitting the rev limit before the trans shifts into the next gear. I have read that other people have the same problem when they go from 3.23 to 3.73 gears. Right now I changed the speed settings to 3.54 gears and 235/60/15 tires I also changed the speed settings on the up shift and down shift Stock the Corvette with 3.07 gears had 1>2 @ 45mph 2>3 @ 81mph 3>4 @125mph I changed these # to 1>2 @30mph 2>3 @60mph 3>4 @110 But the car still runs into the rev limit.   5. Tim when I put a vortec motor in my 89 Chevy 1500 I used Edelbrock fi kit. It uses 8 injectors and uses the ecm out of the truck. I love my Vortec motor for towing. Mike
  6. I pass under the Rio vista bridge all of the Time, but not by car. I am out that way on the weekend in my boat. You can come over anytime if you want. I had Mudge help me out when I first wanted to learn how to program my ecm. mike
  7. I will be in Reno for hot August nights this weekend, and Summit is there also. So I want to pick up some drag radial 235/60/15 but I need to find out what rims to buy.. 15x8 with a 5 or 4" back spacing? I do not have coil over but I have seen them on z-cars before without them. Mike
  8. 80LT1 I am having alot of fun with tunercat for my Lt1 ecm. It is nice to go in and change your ecm to the way that you want it. You might want to go with the 94-95 ecu down the road. Mike
  9. the motor and trans are from Ebay, as of right now I have about $4500 in the car and this includes. lt1/4l60e,R230,Brake upgrades,springs and tokikos, and all of the other parts to get the car up and running. And this includes buying the car, but I still have alot more work to do, Roll cage and paint are going to cost alot. Mike
  10. I took the r230 axles back apart to fix the problem with the cv falling off. Looks like one side was ok and did not need any work, but the other side needed some small welds to stop the cv from moving to much. looks like when they cut the axles they used the outer part of the q45 to make the axle which necks down and allows the cv to fall off. Make sure when you have your cv axles done that they use the inside part of the Q45 axle and not the outside. other than that the R230 works just fine. Mike
  11. I got my axles fixed now. This Lt1 makes alot more low end than my old carburetor motors did. Even with the R230 diff I am having alot of problems with spining the tires. Motor rund good and 4l60e trans works just fine. I need to get some track times in soon, but I think that I will need some drag radials. Mike
  12. My car is a 240z My old car was a 280z. How many people have cut a coild out of them? I hope that this will be ok for the spring. mike
  13. I had a 92 3.4 in my car a long time ago. I blew my v8 and I got the 3.4 for a good price. I had it in for 1 1/2 years and then the v8 went back. It was an ok motor and good on gas. mike
  14. I do not have a grove to put a snap ring in. I might just put a small weld there. mike
  15. I put in Tokico adjustables also, I just think that if they sell them as stock hight they should be stock hight. I might run them for a few weeks and them take them out and cut a coil out. mike
  16. looks like the problem was with the speed sensor. The pin was not all of the way in where it goes in the computer. It runs good now, the LT1 has alot of low end power. I ran into a problem with my R230 shaft but I should have that fixed soon. Mike
  17. I put on some Arizona car springs and now my car is 2" higher. has anyone else run into this? I like the stock hight not the 4x4 look, and I did put the right ones in the front and back. Mike
  18. I took out the car today and I ran into one problem with the cv axle. I did the same axle stop that Mark did but one of my axle's the cv ring (the part of the cv that goes around the splines) slid off of the splines. It looks like on the factory side they have a stop to prevent this. But on the new resplined side there are not any stops. I would like to see what others have done about this, I might just put a small weld at the end of the splines to stop the cv from moving to much.
  19. I grew up in Houston and I would never want to live there again. The track is fun but Houston is too hot and flat....
  20. I have code 81, 82, 84 all trans codes. It looks like something is not hooked up right. I took the MAF out of the program so no code there anymore.
  21. Stock right now with 150 shot of nos, but as soon as I get all of the bugs out I have a set of heads and cam for it.
  22. Looks like part of my problem is with the trans code. The trans is not down shifting right. I put the car in 1st and got on it and it moves. Looks like I have to fix the bugs. Mike
  23. I took my 240z out today for the first time. Lt1/4l60e. The car ran good but the power was not that good. I still have MAF code. I might try tonight and switch the computer to speed density mode only and see if this helps. Codes 48&84 Mike
  24. There is no need to mount the Booster up side down. It fits just fine the right way.
  25. I have the Grifin 24x19 radiator and I am using JTR lower mount. I made a top mount for it but I do not like the way it looks. What type of mount is everyone using? Thanks Mike
