Today was one freaking HOT day in the shop! I think that I lost about 20lbs from sweating but its all good I got those lbs back by drinking few beers and eating 3 Wendys junior bacon cheesburgers lol. Most of the big holes got closed off today I think that I have maybe 3 more to go. My block off plates I had cut by waterjet while ago. I have to grind down all the small welds on firwall next. Getting there. No more clutch master cylinder. This crap is really getting old... btw did I mention that it was 110deg in the shop!!!

Been working on closing of holes in engine bay and so far driver and passeger inner feder well are 95% done. For the next week I hope to get firewall done the same way and afther all the small holes have been shut I will get big ones closed off with block off plates that I had made almost year ago. Here are pictures of what has been done so far. Man talk about crap load of holes... Thank you Datsun! Getting there! Less and less holes! More updates in next week.

While most of my parts are coming in I am spending my afther work hours working of the body. Here are some pictures of how that is coming along. 2jz pulled out and taken down to the short block for some cosmetic and mechanical improvements. Nasty engine bay but its time has finally come closing off all the holes and working on making her nice and smooth. Pretty much ready for undercoating and POR-15. There is also crap load of holes to be welded shut. Rear wheel wells looking pretty good. I might have about hour or two worth of cleaning up left in rear of the car. I wish that I took good picture of all the brackets that were aroud rear subframe because now you cant tell where they were anymore since I have spent two whole nights grinding them down for nice clean look. There is some more cleaning left out around back area but I just got sick and tired of it so I am taking small break from it LoL. Engine parts some are getting replaced and some are getting powdercoated.

Ok so I got all my stuff back from powdercoating turnaround time was exactly one week. Quality of the work is great and I will be taking my engine parts to the same guy for sure. All of these parts sandblasted and powdercoated set me back $360 now that is awesome deal in my opinion. Here is everything before blasting and coating talk about dirty! Here is hand full of pics of the parts when I got them back Now all I am waiting for are my five lug brakes from AZC and two of the Tokico struts that are coming directly from Tokico factory.

Got some more work done in the last week. Here are some pictures of the dash and seats mounted. NRG quick release hub Reman steerig rack Took all these parts to get powdercoated in fine wrinkle black (texture finish). I also cut off spring pearches from strut housing so I can use my coilovers. Then I cut off crap load of bracket from around rear diff that I dont need any more.

Stony, I got all the stuff for CV conversion about 2.5 years ago but since my car has been down I let JTaylor use my billet adapters and axles on his RB25 280z and he has been running mid 9's with 1.4 sixty foot and he has not broken anything yet so I will use that setup for while and just see how far it gets me. If or when it brakes I will just go with 9" rear end and call it a day : )

I guess when you do this few hours a night over two week period it really does not feel like alot of work was done. When I got middle section of the car stripped to some decent level I took front fenders off and started working on fender wells. Not done yet but it looks better already. Rust spot right under the sway bar mount on driver side frame rail just great... Talk about pile of garbage 3 of the struts were blown (bad strut section job from years ago), every bushing, ball joint, steering rack all just gone to **** but thats OK this is good time to replace all of it "while I am at it" LoL Got the 280z strut housings, stub axles, and R200 LSD finned cover from parts car at F&D AutoCare (local Z car specialist)

Man I cant even begin to explaing how I feel about rust repair... For what is worth I am trying to find all the small spots of rust and repair them so here are some pictures of that and some other random crap. This is what was left of my factory trans crossmember mounts Much better here Cut this whole piece out and replaced it with steel plate Welded and sealed Here you can see three square spots that had to be cut out and redone I ended up selling my MSA urethane air dam becuase that thing was flexing whenever I would go over 100mph so now I am going to run stock 280z lover valance with carbon fiber BRE replica "spook" sp? lower lip This part was sooooo much fun...NOT!!! Down to the factory primer. I took alot of crap off this is just from small section

Funny thing how few weeks worth of side work end up turning into six months worth of building and fixing your friends cars but its all good I got myself $10K for doing it. Even though I did not work on my Z in over six months that did not mean that I could not stock up on parts so that way when side work is done I would have most of the parts ordered and ready to be installed. Well I finished my last motor build three weeks ago and I am taking break from everyone elses crap and going full time on my project I sure have been dreaming about this time for over six months! Here are pictures of what I have waiting on to be installed: Painless wiring harness and switch box for whole car RCI five point harness for both seats and hardware kit Weldon fuel filter with bracket and fuel pressure regulator with true -8 return Gsc S2 cams (10.2mm lift with 274deg duratin), Gsc beehive springs with titanium retainers, and ID (injector dynamics) 1000cc injectors Eagle electronics 2jz 200amp alternator and BIC performance solid engine mounts All star catch can with summit -10an fittings and -10an hose B&M pro rachet, B&M oil cooler, lokar dipstick, summit fittings and 20feet of -6an hose Haltech platinum sport 2000 with haltech wide band and race pack display dash Crap load worth of $$$ in OEM parts (did I mention that I left Jaguar and now work as Lexus tech!) Twin turbo oil pump, crank sensor, coil cover, headgasket, timing belt... -16an fitting and hose for radiator Used twin turbo valve covers with -10an fittings AEM 5bar map sensor and two 150psi pressure sensors Helmet hook, tool for -3/-4an ptfe lines Fuel system fitting and hoses -10an for feed and -8an for return Custom made radiator fan and shroud for my particular setup Por 15 with prep chemicals and 100square feet of floor insulation Neil Chance torque convertor little over 3K rpm stall (used for 150 miles) Billet distributor block off plate Floor drain plugs from MSA Brand new OEM twin turbo coils M&W pro 16cdi box (stupid expensive!} and ngk iridium plugs TRD oil cap, TRD 160deg thermostat, and haltech single channel hall sensor ATI Th-350 with JW bell housing full reverse manual valve body and trans brake (yeah like I will use that on my r200 lol) Dash cap from MSA I hope that this update is worthy for six month absence of updates : ) More updates in next two weeks...
