I am only running a 287 CID so I don't need big valves or runners.

Great price, I got my last set for $240 shipped. Bingo on the cubes, for the larger 350-383-396-422-434 stuff, I'd get something else

I have two different ones also, but the replacement which is different works fine still.

Folks need to get over this "sports cars do not make good drag cars" way of thinking.
Your doing quite well, but you dont have a stock 30 year old rear end either. Most people have big problems launching these cars, period. There are some 12 second guys with modest horsepower, and others with 400+ HP running 14 and 15 second times.
Of course setup is going to be a big player, but a stock setup is not the one to go with when making power IMO at the strip.
-
Those 400s were heavy, and LONG strokes. I believe the later Pontiac got up to a 4.25" stroke.
Expensive to work on in comparison to a Chevy, but they have potential.
Its still GM no matter how you slice it, not Ford.
-
Its possible but there are many better heads out there than LT1, so most people avoid such a scenario.
-
I think the compression goes to something like 14.5:1, in other words, you need other pistons.

Chris Chow, and I believe its a big block IIRC. I dont know if his email address is up there, if not I can email him and ask.

The fox bodies are way under 3500 pounds, they are not too hard to get under 3000.
-
Probably doable, nothing wrong with bracing, its cheap insurance.
-
That car launches indeed, but alot of people seem to have problems launching a lightweight car. IMO the Datsun is a sports car.

BOP = GM, Buick, Olds Pontiac all GM.

My Camaro has that also, so far as I know that is there to let heat out.

Making a change to the injector constant effects the whole RPM band however, as opposed to a VE table at a specific RPM, etc
-
I read most of that, DAMN. That makes me sick.
I know a guy with an L98 Vette (1991) with a 6 speed, and he has an M3 now and says its a pretty different car, and for the most part "better."
Regardless, arguing is stupid, a guy lost his money - thats the story. They are two different cars with two different price points.

What's a "PCM simulator"?
Some Aftermarket tuners use these, its imply a hardware and software simulator of the real deal. Developers use these all the time, or sometimes the actual hardware hacked up and interfaced with a PC (Playstation developers, etc).
This is what allows the real time changes, since the actual PCM cannot do this, it has to be flashed from front to back which takes 3 minutes. The $EE PCM has two flash chips, the T and M chip, thats the only PCM I know because I have a 94 Z28. 93 and previous was a removable PROM, similar to most older cars.

damn Mudge....where you been dude!
LoL... I am waiting for my MegaSquirt stuff, I have the electronics but am waiting for the Bowling/Grippo stuff to arrive. Its just flat depressing without it running, I dont know what "went wrong" with the stock setup. After I got another coil bracket from a member, I had spark! But no fire, I am only guessing not enough fuel pressure because there was a leak with one of my connections thanks to an incorrect thread.
So I gave up, ordered the MS and hopefully it will run, someday
if not I'm going to get a freaking V8.
-
Where is Moby? There is only one person on the board that I know for sure has a MS, and I'm sure he'll drop in.
-
Adding less than 20 cubes is hardly going to make an engine compete with a turbo setup.
-
You need a PCM simulator for this to work.

Yea Its a weird topic.. stupid I suppose, but I was bench racing with a die hard domestic fan (who respects Z's at least a bit) We were just wasting some time, and he mentioned if I wanted a real performance car, I should just get a Viper and be done with it.. yea a z can be made to run, but for serious $$$... well long story short..
Kind of interesting then that it came in dead last behind the Cobra R and Z06, unpredictable handling was the word of the day.
I would agree with what John said though, all kinds of different tracks for different cars to shine on. One thing I look at is tire width to weight ratio.

I used needle nose pliers.

Nice car. Modded vehicles dont sell for a dime where I live though.

Rich, talk to a headporter, they will hopefully know what to do. I can try and find out details if you want, SBC heads can be put onto a late model LT1 and LT1 heads can be put on an SBC.
