  1. I tried not to say "ricer", but I have to agree, its ridiculous. Sorry
  2. Why 19s? Expensive tires, and they are going to be a bit heavy, compared to a 16/17" setup, which would work great.
  3. Once you get into mods, then you'd need it. However, I do know of at least one programmer who locks the PCMs by creating some invalid HEX data, so that when trying to access the PCM most programs basically freak out (what is this junk? crash). So, you may want to find out if they do that, its a way for them to keep you from distributing thier work on the net, and whatever other reasons they may have (keep you reliant on them, etc).
  4. Andy, was there a part number on the S&S box or packing slip so we can find out for sure what they were? Any idea if they were indeed for a 32 Ford?

    Hello Everybody

I'm 6'2" 231# and have about 3" head clearance with 89 Acura seats in the 73 Z, I dont know if the seat can be lowered more via brackets but I'll get a Kirkey seat eventually.
  6. Taking the T tops off would slow down the car, what a retard. Just a kid who doesn't know anything
  7. I'm using .040" and all is well, anyone using more than this with the HEI setup? I'll go MSD eventually, but for now just curious on this. I am not sure what year the distributor is, it has a vacuum advance, I'll try to look for ID numbers when I head home later.
  8. Well, after working on the timing not only is low end WAY better, but the idle screws are close to correct also, and the mileage is WAY WAY up, somewhere in the 20s. Previously it was a real bear getting it to operate without using the choke, and I had the idle screws out about 6 turns to get it idling very fairly at all, so it was just stinking pig rich.
  9. Are you sure about that Ryan? I wasn't aware of any long tubes that worked with the JTR setup?
  10. Well, the last owner doesn't know what springs they are since they came that way, but with the number of coils, and how squeezed together they are, they do look torched. Thanks all
  11. What does the temp look like with your gauges? Could also be an O2 sensor (or multiple), anything that could affect closed loop operation can be suspect. Its almost always cheaper to get a scan tool rented or even bought, unless you really know what your doing, or are lucky.
  12. I'll take a better look tomorow, but I didn't happen to notice that it looked abnormal at all...
  13. 4.375" OD = 111mm http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages/KeithandCharlotte/springr.htm
  14. Thanks Dave! Doesn't sound like a very easy to find size, but if I can find some springs in that OD that would rock, so I will try to find some. No springs yet for ID of 3.525"/OD 4.375"... still lookin'. I dont suppose anyone knows offhand if other cars share the same OD/ID?
  15. The Hooker LTs for the V8s are for the Scarab setup, not JTR, if thats your situation. So to get them to work, well will probably take some work.
  16. I think its only doing it with the clutch out (in gear), and in all gears. Or accellerating over about 3500 RPM or so is when the noise starts to pick up, once I hit about 5k its very loud. I'll see if it does it out of gear...
  17. Does anyone know the OD of the stock springs? If not I can pull em, they look about 3.5"-4"?
  18. Yep, this sucks Hopefully I will find out monday or tuesday.
  19. Yep, a few are not only already touching, but the others have hardly any space between, and there are so many coils altogether that they just get in each others way very much too early, there is hardly any travel before they will bottom out with each other. Normally aftermarket springs will have a couple fewer coils than stock, so I'm beginning to fear that they really may be torched, but I'd still be a bit supprised, I thought only kids did that nowdays.
  20. No rear sway bar, and the grinding is pretty damn loud, so much so that you feel like something is going to break soon. You really can feel a constant grinding feeling being transmitted to the shifter, I can tell its coming from the rear pretty clearly though.
  21. Crap, I will try to find out what springs they were, I would be really supprised if they heated the springs though, that is a bonehead thing to do.
  22. Yes, but they are lower compression and allow for less timing, and they barely outflow LT1s. 5 minutes per bowl will get them flowing better than Impy heads.
