  1. My new build early 74 260Z. We just got it vinyl wrapped metallic gunmetal gray and a nice set of Atara racing wheels in 14x9 -13 offset 86K original miles, AC still works
  2. Done with the build now to start the 260Z
  3. 400+cc injectors would help, you already have what you need for the high 300's I also have an L28et in my 240Z but I have the Turbo BW tranny and the JWT Z31 ecu for 420cc injectors I hope to be in the high 300's soon
  4. Tank is out and new cell is in, runs like a dream. I took a peak in the tank and it looks like rust flavored oatmeal in there so fuel cell it is.

I drained the tank and it was really dirty, I installed a new pump and the outlet on the tank is so clogged that the pump gets loud and it starts failing, I also wired the pump directly to the battery just to test it and the same issue was present. The gas tank will be coming out this week to clean or a new fuel cell.
  7. Checked my new fuel filter and it was a little dirty so after draining the tank this is what comes out. Its a bucket full of fuel and rust at the bottom, so i will be pulling the tank out and cleaning it.

Well installed a new pump and after 30 min of driving the same, pump goes in and out over and over till it completely turns off then I have to try to start it a couple of times till the pump starts working again. Ill be checking the new filter tomorrow and the wiring to see if its an electrical issue
  9. Well the sound the pump makes is a up and down motion like a wave with 2 second intervals and that's after the car has been driven for more than 30 min Ant to correct myself the msd was slightly used but It was not used for the past year.
  10. After the car worked great the whole day on my way home after a 45 min drive the car started cutting out again but this time I could here the fuel pump going in and out so the car would lose all power when the FP would go silent. Its an new MSD Fuel pump. What can it be?
  11. I opened the gas cap and drove the car around and it felt much better but the problem was still there, I changed the fuel filter, FPR and installed a vented gas cap and all problems are gone. Fuel filter was from 2009 by the way and was extremely dirty so I checked all feed and return lines and nothing was clogged, checked the fuel tank and all was clean. Car feels amazing, Thanks guys. Installed a Vibrant Manual Boost Controller and took it to 10lbs and It had no hesitation at all, it felt amazing.
  12. Rebuilt engine on stock boost not overboosting at all full 3 inch exhaust. I did notice that when i disconnect the vacuum line that goes to the factory FPR the car runs better but still has the same issue just slightly.
  13. Bought my 240Z a couple of months ago and since the first day I have not been able to pin point the issue Car is a 72 240Z L28et swap ( 11K Rebuilt ) Stock ECU 5 Speed R200. The issue is that after 20 to 30 min of driving the car once you stop at a light or stop sign and continue driving when the car gets close to 3000 RPM in every gear she starts pulling, loses power and shutting down but does not turn off so you have to let go of the gas pedal and shift to a higher gear. The longer you drive the car the worse it gets, I already checked all vacuum lines, replaced the maf sensor, installed a new MSD fuel pump, plugs and wires and other visual inspections but can not pin point the cause. Can it be the the Fuel pressure regulator it being stock or is there something else I am not checking. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
  14. Actually the - offset took care of the coilover issue, im running on lowering springs till I get some coilovers, we did rolled and pulled the rear fenders atleast 1.5 inch so I could fit the 15x9.25 -38 The camber took care of itself after I lowered the car
  15. Impul Hoshinos are actually very rare old school JDM wheels produced by Mr Hoshino, professional race car driver in Japan for Nissan back in the 70's 80's. Impul still produces lots of aftermarket parts for Z's. The exhaust is a shakotan, bosozuka look alike witch is the style I am going for on the Z

Well I have had my 240Z for 2 weeks now so its time to document my build Specs: 72 240Z 104K on Body 11,343 on engine, turbo, tranny and diff. 1982 L28ET Borg Warner 5 speed Tranny R200 Diff non lsd Front toyota 4 pot brakes Rear drums So far i have done lots of maintenance, cleaning, pulling out the interiors to clean and inspect. Changed thermostat, new MSD fuel pump, all fluids, plugs, fixed bumpers, lights, new gauges, new straight pipe, my beautiful Hoshino wheels, lowered her a bit more, rolled and pulled fenders and bought more parts. Since the engine, tranny, diff and turbo rebuild it has been 11,343 miles so more power is the word Already have a Jim Wolfe ECU for 420cc injectors, Cobra Maf, New 420 cc Injectors, having a front mount fabricated this week, manual boost controller, and other little things. The goal now is 350HP I love the bodylines of the Z so I really did not want to install flares so after a lot of research and measuring I was able to fit my Impul Hoshinos. Wheel specs: Impul Hoshino G5 Fully polished front 15x9.25 -13 (5 inch lip) Rear 15x9.25 -38 (5.5 inch lip) No rubbing at all As soon as my power goals are accomplished she will be off for body work and a new coat of white paint, she has a couple of rust bubbles very minimum tho so this will be corrected. Here a couple of quick pictures from a car show in the local area a couple of days ago.
  18. I have a 72 240Z with a 82 L28et that I want to make a little faster. I found a 6 month used wolf 84 300ZXT ECU for 420cc injectors and cobra maf. Will this work on the l28et with front mount and other mods? Thank You.
