Truth be told, I'm not 100% sure how this style will look on our Z's either but I figure for $450 shipped, I'll try it out. If it doesn't work I know I can flip these in a heart beat. I like the 002, and they look great, but there's a ton of Z with them. If these don't look great, i'm gonna have to join the crowd with the 002.

I ordered the 16"x8.25" with a 0 offset. I'll post pix when I mount them. They're scheduled to arrive this Saturday the 30th.

Hey DeLorean, Nice car and nice pix! I'm guessing you're shooting with either a prime lens with low aperture or a nice zoom lens. You may wanna bup up your aperture on some of the pix. The bokeh is blurring out the car and focusing on the pavement near the car. Either way, hot car and I love the pix good work!

Any pix of this wheel online? can't seem to find a pic of it.

I ordered a set of flat blacks. 16x8.25 0 offset. Thet should ship out Mid April. If I like them I'll keep them, if not I'll post them up forsale. I think Miata guys are gonna be all over these wheels.

I'll research this wheel. I've got some guy wanting to sell me a "Rare" datsun wheel but I haven't seen it. I wonder if it's the wheel you mentioned. I haven't seen his wheel and I don't know what the Nissan Sports Option four-spoke steering wheel looks like either. Time to research.

Oh I see. I was going to swap my wheel for a Nardi wheel, but I like the look and feel of these vintage wood steering wheels. I just wanted to make sure how much I wanted to invest on restoring this wheel myself or sending it to get done if they were worth quite a bit. At 150-200 I think I'd be willing to research how to restore this wheel myself. Thanks for info guys!

Awesome! Ok so our steering wheel isn't that rare after all.

Hello Folks, I was trying to find some information on my steering wheel. I see the three spoke steering wheel often but they all have holes. I think my 71 is considered the series1 because it says 240z near the rear window. My steering wheel has the indentations where the holes go but it's solid. Is there any info on this wheel. I wanted to refurbish the wood and have it varnished and repaint the wheel black but I'm not sure if I'm going to ruin a hard to find wheel. Thanks! Alex

Ok so I've done a ton of searches and I can't seem to find the specs on these wheels. I'm assuming they are 17" and I hope not 18" = more $$$ They seem to cost about the same as Wats, I'm thinking if I run ZG flares they'd probably be about 17x9(-13)? 17x10(-??) For the same look in the pix?

LOL PureP I like your avatar, do you know squirrel? Ok so, If I wanted to buy coils, I'd buy stance coils and then purchase the lsis bottom end? If so, do they sell just the bottom? A right up on the parts and how to install (mostly what needs to be weded) the parts would be awesome! By the way PureP I dig your drop. -

18x10 +12 and 18x12 +12 Wheels on a Z
dailydrifter replied to dailydrifter's topic in Brakes, Wheels, Suspension and Chassis
Interesting, ok cool. I guess it'll depend on the offset. A bit off topic, is 1700 a good price on a 71 Running Z, little rust on rear quarter panel? I found two in that range and both look clean. -

YEa that's what I was thinking, you have to run those big overfenders. I may just replace the inner barrel to make the wheel a 10in. -

will the wheels fit though? I run stretched tires. 235's in the front and 265's in the rear (tire sizes on the black vert above). I know some of the old school folks THINK stretched tires are unsafe. I've organized drifting events since 2003, and most drifters run stretched tires. Our tires go through some serious lateral force against the sidewalls and I've only seen low pressured tires unbead while drifting, not while going straight. Nothing on a daily drive will exert that kind of force on a stretch tire on the street. So I'm hoping the wheels will fit and then stretch the tires a bit to fit under the fender flares. If not, I'll just get rid of them. **Drifter Stretch Note** In the event you wonder why we stretch tires? Normal or big sidewalls flex under the wheel while drifting, which will cause it to unbead. Additionally, transitions from one turn to another on a tall/soft side wall is much less responsive and has a "squishy" feel. Stretched sidewalls transition the car much faster with no sidewall flex. I roadrace too, and drifting has different driving characteristics. I've held events where SCCA was in the next lot and drivers come over. they take rides and even drive. "It's not as easy as it looks", is what most say. Some of our top drifters come from SCCA as well, traditional racing is great experience when it comes to drifting. So far, knock on fiberglass, I've never crashed but I have rubbed a couple of walls and killed cones. Oh and by stretch I mean a moderate stretch, not this: I would not allow this at our event for obvious reasons. lol -
Hi I'm fairly new to the Z world and I was researching offsets. I noticed 18x12 was no issues with those large overfenders but will 18x10 +12 (front) and 18x12 +12 (Rear) fit under the regular fender flares? I'm trying to decide if I should keep my work vsxx's or sell them: They look nice on my vert, I just dont know if they'll fit a Z
