  1. Pretty sure my coilovers are 2.0 as well, but it is a 55mm diameter.
  2. Let me try and figure out the thread pitch. I'll probably know by tomorrow. Anything available for the rear?
  3. Gotcha... So $180 for 2 front tubes? I'll try to figure out tr thread pitch of my front ones.
  4. I don't think these would work. My tein shocks measure 55mm front, and 52mm rear. Can you tell me what length the tubes are for the front and rear. And how much of the stock rear tube needs to be cut. Thanks.
  5. I'd be very interested if they fit the 280z and my tein coilovers. Any way to find out the size and thread pitch? Are the front and rear different ID?
  6. Few more updates, the rear holes are all welded in. Next up, grind them down and start smoothing out the rear. Changed the rear inner control arm bushings. Could not for the life of me separate the control arm from the spindle...so I dropped the whole thing. Bushing was not there, it was just the metal sleeve. But more importantly, my manifold came back with a new rail and new set of o-ring injectors! I stripped it down and sand blasted it! Much better now. And I slowly started putting everything back together. I am still waiting on injector pigtails. Still need to run the fuel lines and regulator, and reconnect all the intake hoses on top. By the way, do you guys usually keep that heatshield between the intake and exhaust manifold on? I was thinking of leaving it off, but some of the wires may run close to the exhaust manifold. And if anyone is interested in the fuel rail and injector combo, fee free to contact me. My guy is setup to make these now.
  7. Front and rear shocks are pretty similar in length, but they are different diameters. 52.7mm rear, 55.7mm front. From all the info I've gathered, the rear tubes need to be longer, and they get welded further up on the shock tube unlike the front. If anyone has those lengths, it would take a lot of guesswork out the equation.
  8. That's actually very funny. Never thought about that. By the way, do you have any knowledge on topic of coilover tubes? I've got my Tein Flex setup from the S13 I'd like to transplant on the 280.
  9. That's what I'm afraid of, if they're that much shorter than the stock suspension, I want to make sure the tubes I get made are long enough so it's not putting the car too low. However, after pulling off the rear bumper, I've got a 7" gap to fill!
  10. I'm in the same boat. My wheel is just trashed. I have a nice suede momo wheel, but need an adapter. Not sure what will cost less, a better condition stock wheel or a new hub.
  11. Sorry if this info is floating around the website, but I tried to search and couldn't find it. I've got a set of Tein Flex S13 coilovers I'll be putting on my '75 280. I will have a local machine shop make me some tubes. Not 100% sure if the off the shelf ones available for other coilovers will match the thread pitch on the Tein shocks. So what I'm looking for is the length needed for the front and rear tubes. I imagine all full body threaded coilover shocks are similar in length, so the tubes will be close to what I need. I'd hate to make them too long, then have to cut down, and machine new threads, or even worse, too short, and I'm totally screwed! Hopefully someone has a quick answer! Thanks.
  12. I've already found someone on here who will sell me the two lower sections. As for the bumper, it was me. I pulled it off the second day after I bought the car I started doing a patch panel with some left over sheet metal I had. And pulled the trim off the driver side. Looks a lot better without it.
  13. Some of the major rust problem areas are the lower real quarters. The front was a bit bashed up as well. I'm hoping once I get an airdam it'll hide that. Here's some small engine parts cleanup. The thermostat housing looks like it belongs on the titanic. So I pulled it off to clean it. This water fitting was a mess. Not even sure how water got through it. All cleaned up. Just waiting on some gaskets to put it all back together.
  14. Nice updates! You're right, my build will be very similar to yours!
  15. Ben, thanks for the info. I just checked out black dragon and ordered a catalog Adam, the interior isn't too bad. It's very complete. But the dash is a bit crappy. Someone tried to repair it but quickly gave up. Seat covers have been replaced with cloth ones and they are in pretty good shape. Steering wheel is trashed.
  16. I've only heard my L run of 5 cylinders. I have yet to see what it sounds like on all 6.
  17. Hey everyone, while going through the Z I just acquired, I noticed it was missing one of the rear lower control arm bolts. Does anyone have a spare one the can sell me? Closest thing I found at a hardware store was twice as long and didn't have a flanged head. I can always cut it down, but wanted to keep it consistent. Here is the bolt in question. And if you have the washers too, that would be an added bonus! Best way to get a hold of me is by email serban@floridasr20s.com, or phone 954-257-0147. Thanks!
  18. A rwd sr20 with a VE head would be a beast in an S30! But nothing beats the sound of an I6!!
  19. Hey everyone, I recently just traded my convertible 240sx for a 280z, If you look at both cars, mechanically and body condition, the other guy got the better end of the trade....but I always wanted a Z, so it was well worth the trade! That was the 240...it was put back to stock, and then traded for this... I drove 3 hours from Fort Lauderdale, to Orlando to get it. Didn't want to risk driving it home, since the owner told me the car had a slight hesitation...which ended up being a bad injector. As of now, the immediate plans are: Get engine running 100% (maybe even 95%) Replace suspension bushing Start fixing rust Engine hesitation turned out to be a bad injector. So instead of doing what any normal person would do and just change out that bad injector, I decided I didn't like the stock fuel "rail" so I pulled off the whole intake manifold and sent it off to a friend to make me a rail, and put some better injectors on it. What a rat's nest. This is a CA car, so I'm assuming it's got extra emissions stuff I will need to get rid of. That's better. See you in a few weeks manifold. I also decided that the rear park bench, erm, I mean bumper, had to go. I will go with the bumper-less look, and eventually fill in the holes. Gas tank came out to get repainted since it had a lot of gold overspray on it. And while that was out, I might as well fix the rust in the spare tire well. Didn't look all that bad, but as I welded one patch panel, more would blow through...and this is what I ended up with. At least it;s in the trunk and no one really sees it. Gas tank painted and back in. That's it for now. This is what I've been doing in the last week. I've still got a long way to go with this car until it's something I like. I do have a set of S13 Tein Flex coilovers that will go on the car at some point, but first I'd like to get it driving right. It should be a fun project! Serban
  20. Its been a few years since I've had an SR20 car. I bought a convertible 240sx a year and a half ago, had some fun with that, turbo charged, then put it back to stock and traded for the Z. Mine is nothing to look at, just working on getting it running right for now.
  21. Awesome car Adam! I love seeing the transformation. I just picked up a 280Z this past weekend. Your red car was always an inspiration! Serban
