  1. This is awesome! Transparent 370Z
  2. I think the shifter is a little bit out of reach, but that is just my opinion...
  3. I had forgotten all about these. I would not run them. Those welds are horrible, and I would not consider myself to be a competent welder. There was not even an attempt to clean the slag from the surrounding metal. That right there, imo, shows how little they cared about what they were doing.
  4. Found this website that has a lot of great info by Scott Moore. General web page http://www.4moores.com/ Tech info http://www.4moores.com/280z/files/index.html
  5. JMortensen, thanks for you input. I looked over some of the threads at ls1tech, and it has given me a few things to think about. 74_5.0_Z, again I have to say I your car is awesome and thanks for the pics. Chaparral2f, that is one heck of a build up you are doing. I look forward to seeing more of it.
  6. JMortensen, what issues do you see, as I'm looking at putting in a LSx. I think I will end up using a front motorplate as that would give me more header options. Which is one of my reasons going this route, beside that stiffening up the chassis / drivetrain. 74_5.0_Z, your setup looks fantastic. How is your midplate mounted? Thanks for the pic. Chaparral2f, would you post up some pic of your motor and mount points for the plates when you get a chance?
  7. I am wondering who else has used a front motoplate to mount a V8 into thier Z. I found a few pics of Blueovalz's car from his cardomain page and I would like to see some pics and hear about the pros / cons from others that have done this.
  8. Found some more pics of his car on the shops website. http://www.powerfabauto.com/?page_id=22
  9. I am curious to see this and tried to download it, but rapidshare gives me an error. You should be able to upload them to the downloads section and it will be hosted on hybridz site.
  10. The speaker installs and the dash repair looks fantastic! What is sprayed on the interior of the car?
  11. Here is EvilC's build thread, and he has installed bunch of CF parts on his car. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=142848
  12. Have you considered having a small portable air compressor and tire plug kit tucked away under the seat or in the storage boxes behind the seats? http://www.slime.com/product/68/12-Volt-Tire-Inflator-with-Gauge-&-Light-(COMP-03).html?utm_source=NexTag&utm_medium=CPC&utm_content=Comp%2B03&utm_campaign=NexTag
  13. The stock sending unit should be 90 empty and 10 full. Here is a write up about using aftermarket gauges to work with the stock sending unit. Maybe the info can be applied to use the stock gauge with a different sending unit. http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=127605
  14. Mark who makes that hood? Or is it part of the G Nose kit?
  15. EMWHYR0HEN & rudypoochris, how well have these steering shaft mods worked out for you? Have you run into any issues, anything you would do differently?
  16. Does any one have dimensions for the head bolt pattern on an ls head?
  17. Instead of steel wool I would go with fiberglass mat used for rebuilding mufflers, and its cheap. http://www.amazon.com/Moose-Racing-Fiberglass-Muffler-Packing/dp/B001DDBK7U As far a making a muffler I think the biggest obstacle will be the end caps. The side that will connect to the exhaust manifold, a transition with whatever style exhaust flange would be an easy option. Or if you can find some thing off another muffler with similar dimensions that you are after and use it for the end caps. http://www.mandrel-bends.com/catalog/transitions-forms-45/transition-cones-63/1-75-to-2-00-transition-cone-696.html http://www.burnsstainless.com/cgi-bin/order.py?action=add&part_number=RD-138-200-16-MS-S http://www.mandrel-bends.com/catalog/flanges-v-bands-36/universal-exhaust-flanges-52/2-25-mild-2-bolt-universal-exhaust-flange-1001.html And a easy way to secure whatever you come up with for the end caps would be rivets that you can drill out for repacking. Appearance will depend on what you can afford. Hi temp manifold spray paint or Hi temp powered coating depends on what is left of your budget.
  18. I had no issue with the 4" flange and v clamp set that I had bought mating up to the holset, but it has been a while and I do not recall where I had purchased it from. Could have been columbia river mandrel or burns stainless.
  19. I made this downpipe, for a Holset HE351CW turbo, from a 4" v flange, 4" 45 degree pipe and a 4" to 3" transition a couple of years ago.
  20. You should call a couple of different car lift installers / manufactures and construction companies and find out what they recommend in terms of concrete depth, reinforcement, PSI and etc. Also I think that it was dr_hunt that had a thread in the members projects where he poured concrete and installed a lift.
  21. Mcmaster is a good place. I've also used http://www.boltdepot.com/.
  22. Looks like some good deals. http://houston.craigslist.org/pts/1129442823.html
  23. It just keeps getting better... Supercharged Titan V8 G35
  24. This is sick http://www.ls1tech.com/forums/conversions-hybrids/1067932-ls2-350z-project-begins.html http://www.sikky.com/products/mount_kits/nissan_mounts/ls1_350z
