  3. I'm looking for dropping resistors with the 2 plugs on them: Please let me know if you have them, it the last part I need for my L28e swap.
  4. I'm also a big fan of BMW's. I build myself an '84 E28 5 series with a S38B38 from an E34. Put a dogleg close ratio gearbox behind it and a LSD in the rear. The Koni/Apex suspension and Brembo BIG brakes do the rest. Last year I put a carbon airbox on it and a stainless exhaust and it sounds so aggresive now! Totally love that beast! We also have a E39 M5 wich we use for drift events and the 400hp V8 is a great engine but not as snappy, angry, and willing to make rpm's as the inline S38. The V8 Mpower CAN go in higher rpm levels but when you don't, he's allright with that too. The S38 DOES want to make rpm's!!
  5. Im in the progress of putting a 280ZX EFI on one of my Nissan Patrols. I got a Euro wiring loom and ECU but I don't have a wiring diagram so there a a couple of connectors that I can't identify. I made some pictures: These 4 small connectors are in the same harness part as the injector connectors but where do they hook up to? These 2 connectors have to go to the firewall or innerfender cause they are close to the firewall grommet. Relays?? The connector on the left is the power supply but the other are probably for the EFI relay and fuelpump reley but can anyone confirm this? BTW, the top one is a flat, 6 pin connector and the bottom one is a 4 pin connector. This one is probably a ground but Im not sure. And at least a picture of the ECU connector. These have less pins than a US spec. ZX. Anyone who can help me out? I checkt all wiring diagrams but they are all US spec. diagrams so the have alot more stuff on them like a altitude switch, o2 sensor, etc.
  6. Well, it worked fine with the temp switch in the thermostat housing. I put it all together and it workes good.
  7. I want to place a electric fan on my L28. There is a spare plug in the thermostat housing. Can I use this hole for a thermo switch? Or do I need to place it somewhere else?

  9. That's why I wanted EFI. The SU's that I have on there now are flooding on every steep hill I take. Ok, the megasquirt is going on there.
  10. I'm not a big fan of carburators in offroad vehicles but what if I use an ArizonaZ manifold and a Holley carb on my setup?
  11. Well, you don't buy an 400Hp M5 V8 for under €5000,-. Even the 340Hp 3.8l straight 6 costs more! I have an complete 02 M5 V8 and E28 with 3.8 L6 but I'll keep those engine's in there!
  12. Thanks for the reply! So what do you recommend for cam? I'm new into this and I've searched the forum alot but everyone wants heaps of HP. I want torque but still be able to pull it to 6000rpm on steep hills in low range. I can live with the powerband I have in my Patrol now in low range but on the streets it needs a bit more power cause of the biiiiiig tires. For exemple, Ive had a 84 BMW 535i. 3.5l with 220hp and 310Nm (228lb/ft) and both numbers are at pretty low rpm's. Can my 3.1l Nissan motor have such numbers (maybe little bit lower since it "only" 3.1l) at low RPM's? Compression ratio of this BMW motor is pretty high to?
  13. I've took a look at the Patrol manual and it now has a 248-240 degree duration cam. The L28E has a 240-240 degree duration. What about the WebCamShafts cam with 260-260 duration? I also found this company with regrinds: http://www.dbilas.de/dbilas_eng/index.htm
  14. Good eyes Tony! That ornament was an souvenir from a trip to the US years ago. And, yes, it was from a junkyard......:mrgreen: But If you want one of those L28 powered Patrols, start looking already cause they rust faster than you can weld new sheetmetal in! So, Tony, you recommend to get an adjustable cam gear and use the stock cam?
  15. How about the TB? I have some BMW engine's laying around and they have way bigger trottlebody's but the same displacment. My S38B38 has 6 TB's that are bigger!:mrgreen:

  17. I was thinking of the stage 1 cam from the Z store. Or an Schneider stage 1 cam. I found my Megasquirt on the shelf and a friend of mine is going to put it together. I also found a guy who has a Patrol MK with Megasquirt and EDIS 6 on it.

  19. Thanks guys! I used the search function but only in the L6 chapter. And If anyone would use the search function no one has to post anymore!:mrgreen: I think I order an good mid range cam and put it in and see if I can find that megasquirt!
  20. Carbs are out of the question. If I'm on a steep hill the carbs will over flood and the engine stops running. I do have an Megasquirt laying around but I'm not an expert in this kind of stuff! But what cam is the best to use? Maybe I should stick with my stock Patrol L28 cam?
  21. What is the best cam to go with my stroker if I want torque? My Patrol weights 4000 pounds so I want bottomend torque instead of lots of HP at high rpm's. My combo is L28 block 3mm bored, V07 crank, L24 rods, KA24 pistons, 2mm Tomei head gasket and N42 head. This would give me a compression ratio of 10.222. I know that I have to use bigger injectors but can I run this setup with the stock ZX EFI? Maybe a bigger trottlebody?
  22. It would, but I think I put the stock EFI manifold on my L31E.
  23. Here is a picture of 3 manifolds. The LD manifold is different on the bottom of the runners where is bolts up to the head.
  24. Yes they are! But with airlockers and 37" muddies the L28 has not quite enough power!
  25. I'm converting a LD28 intake to fit injectors and a trottle body. But the manifold doesn't line up on the N42 head. What is the best way to go? Cut the ends of an L28 manifold or make the LD intake fir the head?
