-
Phil this is like my issue with the HEI.. something SOOO simple and soo stupid and un thought of is always the problem...
garsh.. good work though!!
-
it's a DSM (Eclipse) BOV.. they have a stock setting of what... 10-14psi?! you need to CRUSH the top to allow more boost or it will leak..
unfortunatly the puppy is too tight now .. and you are having compressor surge..
but damn I love that noise
-
now that looks very very very well done!!
Good work my man! I was nervous about the old ones after seeing others comments
-
no.. the command valve adjusts the variable vain technology if I recall.
but I dont know for sure.. worth a shot to do some research

Walk through on how it works.. pictures and install.
http://forums.turbobricks.com/showthread.php?p=925829
Basically its a small "relay" with 3 wires... and it uses a fast acting valve.
(boost control "kit")
http://www.sparkandfuel.com/catalog/product_info.php?cPath=34&products_id=39
and ofcourse.. the MegaManual for the boost controller and how to tune
http://www.msextra.com/manuals/MS_Extra_Hardware_Manual.htm#boost
I am buying the parts this week =)
Ohh.. btw it is tuned using a TPS and RPM map..
so yes you can have 5 psi all the time below 3/4 throttle
then have 20psi at full throttle
or have 10psi till 3,800rpm then kick in to 20psi.. help launch the car
or lower the boost at high RPM's to prevent detonation
-
yeh it was a bad HEI unit..
and I forgot to ground the base of the new HEI unit.. yes it had a ground wire, but I guess the base of the HEI needs to be grounded too!
Let me find you a link for the boost control stuff...

Nice!!
Phil why didnt you try the Megasquirt Boost Controller?! its costs $24 and it uses a boost map.. so depending on RPM you can select how much boost you want to run.
-
How about Megasquirt for PSP! (playstation portable)
-
the most expensive thing on that order is the Innovate Wideband setup LoL
