I would highly recommend a REMOVABLE Faceplate.. as you can take it with you inside, and a theif can't do ANYTHING without a faceplate.. mine is entirely removable!
Oh you might notice in some of the pics, there is an automatic tranny, and a manual tranny... some were taken BEFORE the 5-speed swap, and some AFTER
My DVD setup
Oh and it's hard to see.. but I have 3 10" MTX subs in the back of my Z...
In order to hide them I use a BLACK beach towel.. it's large enoguh to cover the subs, and no one can tell, looks like carpet from the outside!
Since that picture I have relocated the amplifier, and have also stored that in a seperate compartment.. so NO one can tell it's there...
and ofcourse.. it's all being protected by Alpine Security

ohh man.. Thumper I don't know how your car could even start..
I tried changing the Priming pulse to 1.5 and the -40* F at 1.5 and it would NOT START....
i changed the settings while the car was running... so i was driving down the street and then i stalled it.. and I was stuck.. and no laptop.. so I push started it and ran at 500RPM for about 1/2 mile uphill.. that was NOT fun.. argg
Anyway.. this is what I am running now.. I'll let ya guys know how it works out
Priming Pulse = 2.0
Pulsewidth at -40* F = 12.0
Pulsewidth at 170* F = 4.0

amazing car Vinny!!
I want to see MORE MORE MORE!!
Ohh wow
-
I get it ALL the time..
Cold starts = needs about 3 or 4 starts runs too rich
HOT starts = ughh.. runs very very rich and idles very rough untill I start driving under load after 2,000 RPM ... THICKER oil has helped, but I need to mess with megaSquirt.

260DET... your car WILL shoot flames... if it spits black smoke..
you need ONE thing.. HEAT..
if the exhaust is hot enough.. or the timing is a bit retarted... you will see LOTS of flames.. haha..
what size exhuast do you have? restrictive muffler??
if it's really straight through it'l belch out.. otherwise you may see a poof with a restrictive muffler/cat.

the white Z is Darrel.. haha he's a character

on that note Helix... that you only care about how fast your car is...
I've ALWAYS noticed that high horsepower cars will throw flames..
any dyno video, or track video will prove that high horsepower cars will throw flames, one example is the Ferrari F40 or the Pagani Zonda they spit flames upon deceleration all the time..
dyno video's you will watch a car go balls out and let off at red line and watch the fire belch out of it's rear..
I personally have always considered flames shooting out of cars as well tuned car! Looking at the car right away you can conclude something ins't stock anymore under that hood.
Then again, I am obsessed with WRC cars and Group B cars throwing flames, and nitro burning drag cars, and Forumla One cars... sooo that might be an influence to my opinion.
Ohh and my car shoots flames, but it is FAR FAR FAR FAR from high horsepower.. just a very hot exhaust a turbo and lots of unburned fuel.. but that defeats the point..
when an average person walking down the street observes a car shooting flames what pops in their head? "Ohh sweet a race car"
My opinion
-
Bastaad - thanks for the kind words.. that video inside the car was unfortunatly only my warm up lap.. so the lines are a bit off, and you can hear me shifting midway through a corner... but the outside shots are from a later lap I did.
The drifting was done with 185 tires and an OPEN 3.54 differential (R180)
that was all with the stock suspension too..
i've learned lots of techniques with the Z.. but now I have a new suspension so it's a bit stiffer and the back end breaks out ALOT easier.. hehe still perfecting it..
anyway.. Flames are amazing.. i love them.. thats all I have to say... like an angry angry dragon
