  1. Thumps..

here's a Holset turbo FAQ from Dodge..

    http://dodgeram.org/tech/dsl/FAQ/turbo_faq.htm

boost creep is so hard to fix.. with an internal gate..

other than porting the hole, maybe upgrading the wastegate puck.. i dunno

CREEP is when the turbo produces soo much air, even with the wastegate fully open, it still creates backpressure and spools the turbo more than you wish.

    # Normal boost rise when set to 13 psi = shoots up to 14, then 13, 13, 13...

    # Spiking = shoots up to 16, then 15, 14, 13, 13, 13...

    # Boost creep = shoots up to 14, then 13, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17...

    # Spiking and boost creep = shoots up to 16, then 15, 14, 13, 14, 15, 16,17...

    FROM DSM.org

The general solution to this problem is to portthe oxygen sensor housing, turbine housing and/or wastegate to allow themto dump more air. Otherwise minor malfunctions of the wastegate mayalso exhibit themselves as boost creep

  2. alot of guys on here run a turbo on a stock n/a block and head..

I run 10psi on my N47 head and N47 block..

I ran on the N/A ECU and 310cc injectors for a whille, and eventually went MegaSquirt... do a quick search in Engine Compents.. youll be happy

  3. No no... cars today don't have 100% electric brakes..

they still have hydrolic brakes with the AID of electronic solenoids etc....

IF your entire brake setup was electric, and the battery went dead, your saying push the pedal harder?? ummm.. no.. if it's electric and "throttle by wire" or simply hooked up to electrical wires to a solenoid, I don't care how hard you push, the solenoid will NOT move... it's electricity that moves the solenoid.

But yes.. even a VW Passat for example has an electric e-brake and cars with ABS have .. thats right.. electric aid...

So a car with NO hydrolic system, and entirely electric brakes would be awful.

Magnetic brakes on the other hand ... *hmm*

  4. with my Z Brian... I adjust it 1/4 turn at a time..

the best results I get are 8.5psi in 1st gear, 10psi in 2nd, spikes to 12psi in 3rd and settles back down to 10psi, then spikes to 12.5psi in 4th, and settles to 10psi, then 5th gear it holds 11psi.

Sooo.. ball and spring setup's suck.. simple as that ;)

  5. Soo... I've been researching..

why hasn't anyone done a horizontal (flat) 4 motor swap?

Hell 300bHP out of the box, LOW center of gravity.. and a beautiful growling sound?

Imagine the room in the engine bay too!! could probably do a nice V-mount setup with the intercooler and radiator...

Oh and if a H4 is too small for you.. Subaru also has a 3.0L H-6 that came in the outbacks
