  1. What tranny is it ( DSG or Manual)? What engine FSI or TSI? Did you buy this gti new or used and what brand tires? Is the suspension stock or if not what upgrades?
  2. Never caught a native that big, 12 inches tops.
  3. Nice browny there, I kinda miss native trout fishing that me and friends did when I lived in PA. I did alot of back woods stream fishing for brookys which are usually at the head waters of a stream.
  4. I will just stick with my 09 jetta tdi, 43mpg with me driving and 48 with wife driving. I can get 38 at average speed of 85 when I travel.
  5. Here try this out http://www.wikihow.com/Find-a-Parasitic-Battery-Drain That should help you to get started in the right direction.
  6. Found this today, just a update to this thread. http://www.zolfeusa.com/home/
  7. I have the car completely torn down and the time has come to replace body panels. I have to replace the front right frame rail and both floor pans. There is a lot of little rust spots that will need to be fixed with some dents. Complete car stripped, there is a couple wiring harnesses that I haven't removed yet. Here is where I have to replace the frame rail. The PO thought it would be great to hack in just a piece of another frame rail. So I will just replace the entire front right. The floor pans I found pieces of fiber glass covering holes and some very thin sheet metal that looked like it came off the side of a rusty shed.
  8. Would like the whole frame rail from front all the way to the fire wall. The last owner tried to piece in part of the rail just under the battery box. They didnt do a very good job.
  9. As the title says I need a front right frame rail. Would like to have some one cut out a good one from there parts car. Nothing fancy, just something structurally sound. Just shoot me a price shipped to 36804.
  10. The right floor pan was poorly replaced at one time, and I could put my foot through the left with enough force.
  11. I have been posting my progress over on Members projects. But Now I have a Ls1 out of a 99 vette with 19000 miles. A guy at work bought it at a swap meet about 7 years ago and never used it. After about 3 months of me nagging him he said his price and I bought. Will be looking for a T56 for the tranny. So far Im still stripping the body down to the body and frame. Will be building a rotisserie soon to make it easier to replace the floor pans and install my Bad Dog frame rails. It will probably take me a couple years to finish being that my funds are limited. But it will be like a new car.
  12. Dash and wind shield are removed. Next will be building a rotisserie to make it easier to fix the floor boards and weld in the v8 frame rails. Oh yeah bought this too.
  13. The electrical system has other grounds besides the battery Ground. In most cases if your car shuts off after disconnecting the battery the alternator could be bad.
  14. I guess its time to update. I have most of the interior stripped, still have the dash left. I have a set of the Bad Dog frame rails made for the V8 swap and still need to order the floor pans.
  15. Its not hot here yet. MMP test and tunes on fridays are ok if you get bored, there is a guy that works there that has a 280z with a v8 supercharger setup. Im about a hour east of the Gump if you feel like a drive I could show you around where I work. There is some fast VWs and Audis there, that is fast for street cars with small displacement. Check out the web site http://www.goapr.com
  16. What a good fit, I will have to look around the shop to see if there is some laying around. There is about half a dozen MKVs GTI seats laying around that I planned on using in my Z (I work at http://www.goapr.com), that are left over from the race cars.
  17. Im all about the clean diesel, my jetta TDI is getting 43mpg at 80mph. Cant wait till its chipped.
  18. Was out Saturday window shopping for a new car for the wife. We decided on the 09 Jetta TDI, with a 40 plus mpg rating and all the great features for a cheap price I couldnt pass it up. Will pick it up on Tuesday, this car will save me up to 150 dollars in fuel costs a month (more Z parts money). Its this color but no flaming leaf sticker. Another big reason for buying the car is that I work here. http://www.goapr.com/VW/ This is the shop and some of the cars I work on. So the TDI will be a mule for the new software and any aftermarket parts, which I get free.
  19. Built a clan, name is Ludicrous Speed. Here is web addy http://mybrute.com/team/3043
  20. Think you can beat my Brute. http://masterbanter.mybrute.com
  21. Pulled my engine today using the front fuel pump stud and rear exhaust manifold bolt. Worked good, probably one of the easiest engines to pull out.
