Looking at the fuel filter now it's showing some orange fuel... A fuel cell is in the future.also down the line some new hardlines for fuel and brakes. But finally go the proper master cylinder! Late model and early model 71 z master cylinder are not the same! The depth of the shaft on the late model is much deeper and therefore if you put it on a early brake booster it's not going to work. Also my brake booster even though was just a few months old had gotten some rust so I removed it cleaned it up and painted it. Before- After- Master cylinder direct from Nissan, it's a sweet part. Anyone else want my LATE MODEL 240z master cylinders?

Turns out I got the wrong master cylinder...again! Third times the charm right? My car is an early 71 and the one I got is for the later car anyways here's a car that was restored by Nissan and mine at the shop with the Orange one. In other news I got a new to me fuel rail since the other one was the wrong one in order to remove my running out of trip in the top end. And also replaced fuel lines since they were all old and cracked and I don't a to light on fire

Been a while since I've updated, work getting done little by little. My brake master cylinder has had a slight leak for a while and I ordered a Taiwan made sayco master cylinder for cheap. Once it came thr imput shaft was too small so I paid three times as much for a used nabco one. Haven't installed it yet but it should work. It wasn't super pretty so I cleaned it up a bit and Painted it. Before- After-

Here's mine at the shop. , the dark blue one. And the light blue one is one of the lucky few that got restored by Nissan in the 00's. It is perfect

I've got that same basic configuration minus the resonator and I've been thinking about putting one in just because of the drone. Does it make a big difference on the highway?

Here's he shots that were supposed to be be In the last post but for whatever reason didn't . Also I've had a leaky brake master cylinder for a while but he petal is really low and soft now so obviously leting air into the system.

Good news today! My diamond racing wheels. 16x 10 with stock 114.3 spacing. But I am slightly concerned by the size and I haven't had a chance to test fit them yet but it looks like they are a bit larger than I ordered, it's probobly just measured from inside the wheel and I don't know it.can anyone shed some light on this? Yea they're fat. Can't wait to get them mounted.also the car just came back from the shop and got all the lights(pretty much) fixed and got a 280zx style ignition but is new. The lights went because of the fuse box going bad and now emits a fair amount of heat so a new one is in order. The ignition made the car run like butter, seriously so smooth. But the problem I still have is the engine will not rev past 5k. Any reason anyone knows why this would happen? Almost like hitting a rev limiter. Is it possible that the tach is slow and its actually going higher?

Got the taillight gaskets in, they were outrageously priced but the car is slightly less smelly. Once I had the taillights off as well as the rear finisher I noticed that the area between the vertical and horizontal piece meet under the rear part of the hatch is rusted open into a nice crack, once paint and body comes around this area will need to be replaced. Also I decided that I'd had enough of the over sprayed door hinges, so I resprayed them after cleaning them up a bit. Before- After- (looks way better and doesn't creak nearly as much)

Painted.... Doesn't look great I want to get this piece in carbon. Also wheels are on the way! Can't wait to ditch these skinnies

I will probably go with a little stretch bin the front with 225s and 255s or something close to that in the rear

I ended up getting 16x10 with 4.5 backspacing, should be here in a few weeks. I did a little research and it seems like this setup would fit but on a stock and modified setup as far as coilovers go. This is the same setup a certain crazy octopus went with and unlike the way his came out. Well he had 15s actually. As always thanks for everyone's imput and I'll update this thread with how they go.

Not forever but the brakes work fine for now.So they will stay for a while.

Or possibly 10's all around with a slightly smaller tire would help it sit better inside the flares? I would like a smaller tire up front so the steering doesn't become too heavy.

Hi there I am planning on picking up a set of diamond racing wheels and need help choosing what size would work for my setup. I am going to be running regular zg flares and for now have stock suspension and brakes but coilovers are next on the list. I want to run 16's and was thinking of running f-16x8 or 9 (4.5 inch backspacing) and 16x10 but not sure what backspacing these would need. Hopefully that's enough info to choose the size. Thanks!

Came out awesome! Never seen that style of cage on a Z, looks like something you might see on a pro drift car.Whats keeping you from driving?
-
Work on the Z has been slow and steady, a lot of removing over sprayed paint and polishing up parts. Before- After- Hatch clip- The hatch had some rust bubbles and the badges were really bad looking so i cleaned up the rust and filled the holes. First spray then sand- Before- After- (with paint stripped other polished) While I was at it I decided to have a go at the rear finisher, it had runs on one part, some visible rust and red blue and black sprayed around the outside from previous paint jobs so whatever i did it definitely wouldn't look worse! Here you can see the original color, would've love to have it that color I actually think its pretty sweet but once the finisher came off I could see the reason for the stank when I'm driving the metal behind the finisher has rusted and now there is an open crack to let fumes in.In addition the Rear light gaskets are trash-completely dried and cracked.I ordered some today so should be coming sometime soon. So here's where I'm at today.

Sprayed my pillar badges today, looks much better than the faded and old chrome they used to be. Also bought a seat from a fellow hybridz member, interior is starting to come together!
