I'm loving your attention to detail in this build. Keep up the good work!

I have a short block for sale. Shortblock includes block, piston assemblies(flat-top), oil pan(needs new gasket if I remember correctly), bearings. Mileage is unknown. However, the crosshatching on the cylinder walls is excellent. Some of the bearings are starting to show a little wear and should probably be replaced "while you're at it". Pistons are removed, boxed, and labeled for easy installation. I have more parts I could throw in as well. Shoot me a private message if interested.

Bump. Here's my DD in all her glory:

Awesome build! I'm looking at doing something similar. I know for sure that I want the same rear quarters but I'm torn on what I want to do with the front. I don't like the g-noses or the ugly kits I've seen offered. Your air dam design still isn't quite what I want but it looks pretty good! I can't wait to see this finished.

Looks pretty good. But I would do something about that overhang. With no airbags, a passenger's face could meet that edge in an accident.

I might actually catch up to you this summer! I'm hoping to have the roll bar and bodywork finished before the next semester starts. I'm considering IMSA style flares but I haven't found a front end I like. -

Excellent project. I'm thinking about going the IMSA flare route myself. Which style are you doing for the front? -
I have a '72 tank that I'm 90% sure I'll sell(I'm thinking of fabbing my own or buying a cell later on) if you came up to Milwaukee for it within the next few weeks. PM me asap if interested.

fhptom, can you clarify if this is the same kit? I'm thinking about going this route but I also don't like the look/price of the g-nose. Did you make that air dam yourself? Lookin' good!

For example, I know Bridgestone RE11s come in 275/40R18 and 275/30R19. I have Bridgestone RE01Rs on my WRX for summer and love them. RE11 replaced the RE01R. I'm still a noob when it comes to tires. Although it's hard for anyone to keep up on them when they last a while and they're always changing tread patterns.

Wow you nut! Stop buying more cars and get working on the track Z! I'm almost caught up to you already. I have a ton of 240-280z parts that I won't be using so if you need anything, let me know.

Primed: It's sitting in my garage primed right now. Body work, frame rails, cage, and other strengthening work will be done next. I still can't decide on a color. I'm thinking something like this: or the switch around the white and red and maybe extend the "rays" on the sides to be parallel with the rear hatch. If someone could photoshop that, that would be awesome. But I'm still undecided on a color so give me some ideas because I have to paint the interior once the cage and stuff is done. Enjoy! -

How I moved it with two other people onto a flatbed trailer: Bought a rotisserie from Monkey T88 (on HybridZ and nasioc) and made mounts for the car and modified the rest a little. Moves very smoothly. Just a little heavy to move because I couldn't get it centered like I wanted to. Where the rear bumper mounts is in rough shape and I didn't trust it holding half the shell. -

Has new Tokico springs. Haven't researched the number on them though. -

Gutting the interior: This furry ♥♥♥♥ was all over the floor. I'm not sure if that's stock or not. But it reeked and was full of mouse ♥♥♥♥. The "fur" was probably half an inch long. I'll probably be covering the floor with plasticy bedliner later on. This was all in the car -

Originally I planned on using the L28 that came with it which is from a 280zx but I've learned that compression is going to be too high with what I have set up and I would like to be able to run on regular 87 octane which can easily be done on a chevy v8. E88 head, machined by previous owner. But machining only raises the compression. Sigh. That engine will need new bearings so I stopped there because I don't want to put any cash into it. I found a rabbit's foot in the exhaust . No idea how that got in there and it definitely wasn't on a keychain before! Good luck? I hope so. -

I bought this car as a rolling chassis with a ton of junk that will mostly be sold/donated/scrapped. Everything pictured in the beginning cost me $1500. Since I was mad at myself for barely taking any pics of the WRX swap I did a year and a half ago, I went nuts with pics this time. Right now I plan on doing a chevy V8 swap. I don't want to mess with carbs. I'm looking at 5.3L or 6.0L engines from late model GM trucks. It doesn't take much to get power out of them and since they're LSx based, most LSx parts will swap with ease. This car will just be my toy with no specific purpose. I'm putting a cage in minus the halo bars as I've read those can be dangerous in a crash without a helmet and 99% of my driving will be on public roads. Every now and then I'll do autocrosses, drags, and trackdays. I can't afford to have just a track car and that would be boring anyway. Most of the interior won't be going back in. It will be pretty bare and just have the old HVAC setup (no AC), seats setup for 4 point harnesses, door accessories (window crank/lock/handle), custom aluminum dash for gauges/switches (saves ~35lbs), bedliner floors, everything on the steering column, etc. It's made for raw performance and not a luxury car like my Subaru....oh wait. I'll try and answer any questions you may have. Feel free to throw ideas/suggestions at me too. I'll try and update this as I go. Unforunately I've been too busy for the car the last couple weeks.
