  1. I see what you did there. Nice to see you're having fun with it. That's the definition of a Z, after all.
  2. Thanks man!!! Does anyone know what brand that one is?
  3. I'm looking for a used 4 barrel intake manifold for my 260Z. Looking to save some coin on AZC's price for a new one. PM me what you have!
  4. Ok, I finally got the fuel pump wired up last night. I'll try and snap a couple of pics later today. I should also be ordering my carburetor this week.
  5. Sorry about the pics, guys. I've been really busy lately and haven't had time to have them fixed. I'll work on it soon, promise.
  6. Alright, I got my fuel pump remounted back by the tank and got it plumbed up. I just have to wire up the hot wire for it, and it'll be done. Yea, I ran out of the good hose clamps. I possibly might be getting a Bob Sharp intake from Shawn (Daeron) within the next week or so, and I'll be ordering my carb soon as well. (Still waiting on my tax check, go figure.)
  7. My gauge lights are original. The longer exposure of that shot make them seem brighter than they really are. MSA sells a set of higher wattage bulbs to replace the factory ones. I'll probably end up getting those one day.
  8. I've also made a final decision on the 4 barrel swap, and it's a yes. I bought a few things at work tonight for it. Braided stainless throttle cable kit I also got a couple sections of 5/16" metal fuel line and a double flaring tool. I'm going to move the fuel pump from under the hood to back by the tank, and I'll have to redo a lot of my fuel lines to do that. I'm probably going to order my carb either tomorrow or Monday. It lists for $356.95 at Summit, and I can get it for $315 with tax from work (Advance Auto Parts). It's the Holley #0-8007. 390cfm, electric choke, vaccum secondaries, model 4160. I'll probably be ordering the Arizona Z Car intake sometime next week; just depends on when I get my tax check back.
  9. I got bored and took some pretty neat pics too.
  10. Alright guys, time to wake this party up. I picked up an Alpine cde-9843 about a month ago from a guy on another forum, and just installed it about a week ago. It's nothing fancy, but it beats the heck out of the factory rotary dial am/fm only unit. Here's what I started with. I took out the stock radio and here's the hole I was left with. I first thought I'd have to make a new plate to mount the sleeve in, but you can see where I planned to make some cuts in this pic. Here's with it cut and filed and the new sleeve mounted. Here's my fancy smancy mount. It's not that attractive or creative, but it works like a charm. I put a piece of rubber on the factory mount between it and the radio. I've also got some made for the top mount, just haven't got a pic of those. Here it is all mounted up. I painted the trim ring semi-gloss black, but it's just photoshopped black in this pic. All finished. I ended up mounting the power antenna switch in the pod on the left of the console where the temperature switch for the original a/c (I guess that's what it was?) was mounted. I made a new plate and painted it black, but it looks a little plain. I'll probably end up putting a nice Z decal or something below it. Overall, I'm happy with the results.
  11. Ah. I knew "gata" meant engine, just wasn't sure on the first part. I've always been a fan of n/a stuff, so I doubt I'll get the turbo itch. However, I've always been a fan of V8's too.
  12. English please. Haha, even google won't tell me what that means.
  13. I've been a little slow with updates. I got the new diff mount installed on Wednesday. Here's a couple pics of it. Between yesterday and today, I've driven it about 140 miles, and the differences between the two mounts aren't even comparable. I also tested out undercoating a new patch of my wheel wells. The factory stuff was undercoating painted over with the body color, but I think just straight black undercoating will look better. No need to have shiny stuff in the wheel wells. Here's a little update on the engine situation. I'm saving up some cash right now, and my bet is that it will go toward an Arizona Z Car intake and a 390cfm 4bbl Holley. The more I drive the thing, the more it's telling me to keep the 6 cylinder. I'm telling you guys, when it's running right, it's fun as hell to drive, and this inline 6 makes a noise you won't hear on anything else. Everyone's got a V8, right? I'm 90% set on keeping the L26. Looks like Daeron was right. lol BTW: Can someone tell me who I should pm about editing the photo links that don't work at the beginning of the thread? I pm'ed SuperDan, but he didn't respond.
  14. I bet that LQ9 cranks easier in 5 degree weather than my 260Z with flat tops does in 70 degree weather.
  15. Wow, I can't wait to move out of this house. There's absolutely no room to build a shop, and I doubt the land lady would let me. Your shops are truly inspiring. Wow.
  16. Hmm, that's an odd way to prevent that issue. I'll see if an admin can open it up for me. Thanks!
  17. Why can I not edit my posts in this thread? http://forums.hybridz.org/showthread.php?t=140983 I need to fix my image links, but it will not let me edit ANY of my posts in that one particular thread, but others are fine. What gives?
  18. Well, it's more my garage than my workshop, but I do quite a lot of work in there. I cleaned it out a couple weeks ago and this is what it looks like in its clean state. I still haven't gotten around to cleaning off that damned workbench though. When I first moved in here, the garages was a MESS, filled with all of my roomate's crap everywhere. The first thing I did was throw it all out in the driveway. I put up the shelves on the sides you can see in the pics, built the workbench in the back, and put three 4' double fluorescent bulb fixtures in there. MUCH better after I got it all organized. There also wasn't a garage door on there. We convinced the land lady to have one installed for us. I still have some more plans, but there's only so much you can do with a 12'x20' space.
