  1. Thanks, but I'm just looking for factory replacement-type stuff.
  2. I'm itching to get my Z on the road again and I'm throwing this out there in case someone has some of this stuff sitting around. I would even be interested in some of this stuff used (in good condition!). I need: Caliper pistons for factory calipers (4) Wheel cylinders (or kits) Master cylinder (new only) Lower ball joints Tie rod ends Transmission mount (energy suspension black) I know it's a long shot, but if you have any of this stuff, please let me know!
  3. A friend a few states over found a fairly complete '83 280ZX in his local salvage yard. What parts, if any, would be worth the effort of taking and shipping to me? It's a turbo car. Should I get the distributor?
  4. You might could score a 240Z balance tube (much simpler and cleaner) to polish as well. I plan on fabbing my own balance tube. I need to finish these dang air cleaners first, though.
  5. Beautiful car! I see the previous owner took the liberty to install a few upgrades already. Congratulations!
  6. Got a line on all parts needed. Thanks for the responses. :cheer:
  7. OP updated with parts I'm still looking for.
  8. That's ok. When I said "stock" I meant stock replacement parts; they don't have to be OE Nissan.
  9. PMs returned, guys. I was originally going to upgrade to the Toyota calipers but wanted to go the the vented option. Then I found out that those would not clear my current wheels. Since I'm under financial constraints, stock is gonna do it for me now. Juan, I appreciate the response and you have a good price on that stuff, but I'm just not looking for 35 year old parts with 38K miles. Thanks anyway!
  10. Alright, I'm finally getting around to the major brake overhaul on my '74. I'm trying to get the best prices on everything as I'm in college and financially stressed out already. LOL Here's a list of things I am looking for. I'm looking for these items in new or VERY slightly used condition. I'm aware that some of these things are a long shot, but you'll never know if you don't ask, right? *Updated List* -Stock style calipers (or rebuild kits) -Stock style wheel cylinders (or rebuild kits) -Stainless hoses (all 4) -New shoes (semi-metallic or any better-than-OEM material) -New rear hardware kit If you know somewhere that has a great price on any of these items, feel free to post that up, as well!
  11. Here's mine. This has always been my number 1 money pit. Although, I've had it for 5 years and the Z just 1, so we'll see I guess. LOL
  12. Here's my '74 with no front bumper. I want to fab up a custom one eventually, but this will do for now.
  13. I'm pretty sure that zinc coating was part of the factory's anti-corrosion application....
  14. Hahahahahaha, I love it. Kudos, sir.
  15. Ah yes, my build thread. LOL Well, a lot has changed. I ended up going with ZTherapy carbs. That's a decision I don't regret a bit. I drive my car daily now without a single issue. I had a thread on the new air cleaners that I'm building for them, if you might remember. I've only finished one of those, though. I need to get on that...... Anyway, in other news, I replaced the old and shot mustache bar bushings with new polyurethane ones. I also cleaned and painted some suspension pieces while I was at it. I also had a 6 month old water pump with 300 miles on it blow a front seal. ......replaced that and painted the pulley I modified my rear bumper, as well. I took all of the rubber pieces off of it, compressed the shocks, and re-welded them in place. Before: After: That pretty much gets us up to date. Here's a few new pics of the car that I took with my XSi DSLR (that means better pics from now on )
  16. Here's a few of my car taken recently.
  17. The dash design is one of the most beautiful aspects of a Z. I don't know why you would want to axe it, but good luck with the swap!
  18. Doubters disproved for sure. That beam pattern is amazing. Glad to see someone finally found a quality "cheap" alternative to a projector retro-fit. Why on earth would you go through that trouble when these housings are out there? Well done, sir. I hope to follow in your footsteps soon. What kind of warranty do you get with the bulbs/ballast kit?
  19. This post is based on mostly common sense and possibly faulty logic. Be warned. If you got bad gas, then obviously, it wouldn't combust as well. That would mean the engine would need more of it, thereby decreasing your AFR. Make sense or no?
  20. That's what I thought. The two pieces of paper would have to be perfectly parallel (same gap on both sides of tire) to get an accurate measurement. I being the statistician I am, though, see sooooo many variables that would throw this off. Like mentioned above, I bet I could more accurately judge a car's weight by looking at/in it.
